“A lovely, well equipped and very comfortable cottage.”

We all thoroughly enjoyed our week over Christmas and could have happily stayed longer. The cottage is in a lovely location, set back from the country lane, with plenty of off road parking. There are lovely views from all aspects of the cottage and the garden is large and fully enclosed. Our two dogs loved exploring the garden and adjoining paddock.

“We were a family of seven on holiday for a week at Park Farm Cottage.”

Communication with the housekeeper was great, she got back to me immediately and answered all of my questions, and made sure we had everything we needed, especially for my seven month old son. She also called soon after we arrived to make sure that we had got there okay. The location of the cottage was perfect for our family, nicely secluded, with full access to the grounds surrounding the property. We really enjoyed having our meals out in the rear garden; there was a BBQ and fire pit available. The cottage itself had all the facilities we needed. The kitchen was well equipped. There was a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. My only criticism would be that the cottage wasn't as clean as it could have been. It wasn't terrible but some of the rooms were a bit dusty, especially under the beds and inside of the cupboards might benefit from a deep clean. A recommendation would be to compile a welcome manual for the property, as this would make things easier on arrival (but as aforementioned, the housekeeper was very helpful in absence of this). The cottage could have done with a bit of an update e.g. decoration, entertainment facilities such TV and music systems. But all in all, we were very happy with our stay and the venue provided the perfect base for day trips.

Many thanks for your feedback and the cleanliness issues described have now all been addressed. There are manuals in the property for the appliances and wood burning stove along with welcome leaflets about the cottage and area/facilities and we apologise if this were not left out on this occasion. Great place for a family get together at New Year. The kitchen was well stocked with even large pans which is great if you are cooking for 8 . Beds were comfortable,everywhere was very clean and tidy. Plenty of places to visit nearby. Only dined out once at Sign of the Angel in Lacock, food and service really good. Would recommend the cottage to friends. Directions good . Heating had been switched on before we arrived and the Cottage was nice and warm.

“Idyllic cottage - perfect holiday!”

Beautiful house with superb garden, great for kids. Wonderful rural setting. The house is lovely and extremely well equipped. Thoughtful welcome hamper on arrival and very helpful housekeeper. Layout of house was perfect for two families holidaying together. Is, without a doubt, the best holiday cottage we've ever stayed in!

“Lovely old cottage”

Just right for a reunion of 4 60+ old school friends and their husbands! Well appointed and decorated and plenty big enough for 8 of us. Althouh it was only October when we were there we enjoyed sitting round the blazing woodburning stove in the evenings. Rather in the middle of nowhere but we all had cars so not a problem (location chosen because we came from all corners of South/South West England and it was convenient for us all). Enjoyed trips to Tetbury and to Westonbirt while there. Only gripe- we did struggle to get the key in and out of the key safe - both when we arrived and when we left. Also, we didn't know what a Jack and Jill bathroom was (ensuite bathroom to two bedrooms). We do now and found this arrangement unsuitable for two unrelated adult couples.

About the location

GARSDON

Malmesbury 3 miles.

The scattered North Wiltshire village of Garsdon is set amongst beautiful countryside only 3 miles from the historic town of Malmesbury, well known for its ancient ruined 12th century Benedictine Abbey. On the southern edge of the Cotswold Hills, the area provides superb walks, as well as numerous interesting places to visit including Westonbirt Arboretum, with its extensive collection of trees and shrubs. Also a short drive away are all the attractions at the Cotswold Water Park, or how about a visit to picturesque Castle Combe, or the quaint NT village of Lacock, used as the setting for the Cranford TV series. The superb Roman city of Bath is also easily accessible. This is a great rural location from which to explore this fascinating area.
