Many people spend months planning their perfect getaway, whether it be as a family holiday or just a romantic weekend for two. Each year, hundreds of thousands of families jump on a plane and head to Europe or beyond, but there is a lot to be said for what you’ll find right on your doorstep. The Cotswolds are classed as an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and Manor Cottages are not one to disagree with that statement.
The Cotswolds is an area that covers a large amount of the central part of southern England, covered mainly by the counties of Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire. It incorporates many large towns, starting just south of Shakespeare Country near Stratford-upon-Avon and stretching down to the beautiful Sandstone city of Bath. If you find yourself with a spare weekend on the calendar, then it is an amazing place to stay. Hundreds of little villages make up the area, and Manor Cottages is proud to have plenty of self-catering holiday accommodation within many of these. Some are perfect for couples wishing to enjoy a quiet break away from it all, whereas other larger properties are great for small families, with plenty of activities to keep both parents and young ones occupied during your stay.
You may also like to use our Cotswold accommodation as a base to explore outside of the area, with the stunning Wye valley and Wales to the west and the cities of Oxford and London to the east. Many of the areas we cover have good transport links, making day trips much easier whether you stay within the Cotswolds or look to explore further afield. All of our country cottages are equipped with the latest conveniences should you encounter a rainy day, but many retain their original features such as Cotswold stone and original beams.
A last minute break in the Cotswolds could turn out to be one of your favourite getaways, so come and explore what the area has to offer; Manor Cottages will be happy to provide you with accommodation for you and your family (and in many cases, your pets!).
