    It is always very clean, comfortable and well equiped. Mary and Tony the owners are very freindly and helpful. There are a lots of places to visit in the area, Croft Castle is very interesting place to see. Thank you Mary and Tony for making our holiday so relaxing.

Situated on the land of the former Power House to Shobdon’s airfield, The Old Power House Cottage 1 is in a fantastic location for exploring this historic area of Herefordshire.

As you open up the front door of the semi-detached cottage you will be greeted by a large bedroom to your right, fitted with two plush beds and a dressing table, this glorious room is a delightful area, decorated with style.

The open-plan living area is the hub of the cottage, fitted with a kitchen, living and dining area, it’s a tranquil area where you can cosy up next to the fire with your loved one.

At the back of the property you can find an enclosed patio area, a lovely setting to enjoy your morning coffee, whereas the front garden offers a delightful view of the owner’s adjoining paddock; an animal lovers paradise whilst being surrounded by natural settings.

The Old Power House Cottages

Found in the tranquil settings of Hereforshire, The Old Power House Cottages make a perfect pair to host a reunion with friends, a getaway with your partner and another pair, or a holiday away with the family. Rich in history and action, these two cottages make a brilliant base for walking, cycling, and seeing the wonders that the area has to offer. With the airfield nearby, these converted cottages are in a great location for visiting events and shows at what was the RAF station during the Second World War. Boasting wartime history, you can even book in for your own trial flying lesson and take to the skies to see the scenic views from a different angle. Whilst in the area, the Black and White Village Trail is a wondrous sight, with timbered houses dating from the medieval times to the modern era, it's a spectacular area with not just a pretty exterior, inside these buildings you can find pubs, tea rooms, and shops, making a fantastic day out for all to enjoy. For avid walkers, the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty of the Shropshire Hills is just a short drive away, here you can find not only breath taking walking routes, but also an abundance of activities including horse-riding, fishing, golf, watersports and even airsports, the perfect location for the adventure seeker.

SHOBDON

Hereford 17 miles; Leominster 6 miles.

The pleasant village of Shobdon lies between the historic market towns of Leominster and Presteigne, and is surrounded by beautiful Herefordshire countryside, close to the Welsh borderlands. Mentioned in the Domesday Book, Shobdon has a village shop, an excellent pub/restaurant, and even a private airfield, providing a rare opportunity to learn how to fly helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. Leominster, dating back to the 7th century possesses some fine examples of architecture including the Priory Church, along with a wide selection of shops, cafes, antiques centres and pubs - an ideal place to spend an afternoon. Close by are many National Trust properties including Croft Castle and Berrington Hall, plus the Judge's Lodgings in Presteigne, Stokesay Castle, the renowned Shropshire Discovery Centre and the Acton Scott Historic Farm. Sample Herefordshire's cider or discover Hereford with its fascinating Mappa Mundi world map and the captivating chained library, home to a collection of rare and ancient books.
