“Pros: Mostly clean and comfortable (although a quick Vacuum of the dead flies would not have gone amiss) Warm and cosy in the Autumn and Winter.”
Excellent location Very spacious rooms. Plenty of Guest information to peruse. Cons: The AGA!!! Difficult to master and as we are away on holiday, a bit of a pain to be honest. Cooking a Roast dinner for 8 was a chore when it shouldn't have been. What it's like in the Summer with it blazing away all day,we do not know, probably very hot. Lack of a microwave in the kitchen. This has been pointed out several times in the feedback and as this is a holiday home, this should be a basic facility in a modern kitchen. One of the bedrooms upstairs is not accurately described as it is decorated as a children's room. 2 of the mattresses (ensuite downstairs and ensuite above) need replacing. Bath Sheets should be provided, instead of Bath towels....After all, this is described as a luxurious place to stay.
“This delightful, beautiful house was just what our family needed.”
So relaxing. We loved the area too, not as touristy as where we stayed last year which was near Stow-on-the-wold. We really did not want to come home but alas we had to!
“We loved the warm welcome for both my husband and myself, and family.”
The location was perfect being on the edge of the village, relatively rural with lots of walks, yet very close to amenities. Thank you
“We had a wonderful summer break in Mere Coach House.”
Great house, superb garden space and great to be able to walk to pubs, restaurants and shops. Happy indeed
“Good weather, good location, good property.”
“The location was fabulous - wonderful garden and views, peaceful and relaxing.”
The house itself is a bit of a mixture. Wonderfully warm spacious kitchen, comfortable, roomy bedrooms all with en-suite, and a living room with comfortable seats for all. Tiled floor meant it got cold and we needed to have the wood burner going and to buy logs (should be provided for that price). The patio area was used when the sun shone and was great on Sunday when we were able to have the kitchen doors open and wander in and out. The snug was only used for drying clothes - Rather gloomy and TV was WAY too big for the size of room! Dining room was lovely and sunny but a little bit echoey. The welcoming tea and biscuits was a nice touch and we appreciated not having to buy washing products and cookery 'basics'.
“Great, very sociable cottage with big kitchen diner to all enjoy dinner around.”
Wood burner lovely, and plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms.
“As there were 4 couples staying it was appealing to have 4 en-suites.”
“Lovely location, super cottage - and we were lucky with the weather!”
There were 6 adults in our party and the layout of the cottage, combined with the fact that all bedrooms had en-suite facilities meant that there was ample space for us all to relax without falling over each other. \ \
“Mere Coach House was spacious, well-furnished and well-equipped.”
It was a good layout for a larger group comprising different generations.
“Ideal location & it was an easy place to relax.”
Weather wasn't great but the property was comfy. Good local amenities in Fairford. Shutters in master bedroom didn't reach full height & absence of blinds made for early waking : (\ \ Kitchen well equipped and the Aga enjoyable (but not practical for larger numbers) but holiday cooking would have been simpler with the addition of a microwave\ \
“It's in a beautiful setting.”
Cleanliness was excellent. Standard of property was better in reality than it appeared online. It was a very flexible property - although we were 8 adults, it would be great for family parties too. Mr Parker, May 2017.
