With the magical, frost covered countryside, gorgeous scenery all around and festive feel-good events in every Cotswold town, there’s no better place to escape to this winter.
Christmas and the winter season in general is one of our favourite times of the year here at The Chipping Norton Tea Set. With the busy wedding season well and truly over, we get to spend more time enjoying the beautiful Cotswolds, getting involved in fabulous community events across the region and of course getting creative in the kitchen with our warming winter menus.
So what’s there to do in the Cotswolds during winter? Well apart from a wonderful countryside walk, there’s a whole host of markets, special events to attend, fine food establishments to enjoy and pretty Christmas lights to see in the various towns and villages plus, of course, indulging in our afternoon tea!
Imagine it a glass of champagne, delicate sandwiches with sumptuous fillings, mince pies and Christmas pudding sweets, freshly baked scones served with indulgent cream and a choice of warming winter teas. Our afternoon teas can be enjoyed in your cottage beside the roaring fire as you celebrate Christmastime. You can even request some extra special seasonal flavours, like turkey and cranberry sandwiches, chocolate orange mini cakes, or Christmas cupcakes. Other fabulous ideas for your winter tea include soup served in teacups and spiced winter red tea (roobis with orange, cloves and cinnamon.) If you fancy making a real occasion out of it, why not add a festive touch to your home-from-home, with spice-scented candles, Christmas themed flowers in red or white and a few Yuletide tunes.
To find out more about our party catering, visit our website, where you’ll find details on what’s on offer and minimum number requirements.
If you’re looking for the ultimate foodie experience during your Cotswold stay, we recommend visiting during mid-December so that you can visit The Cotswold Table on 14th of the month. The foodie market is always worth a visit, but during the seasonal months you’ll find even more tempting treats on offer – from comforting cakes and mince pies from the Tea Set team, to fine cheeses, extra special liqueurs and chocolates, and seasonal chutneys from all the other stall holders. In fact, you may just leave with everything you need for the perfect Christmas table!
To make a booking for a winter afternoon tea with us, call us on 07967 833979, or drop us an email on email@example.com to check availability for parties of eight or more. We come to you, set up, put the kettle on and leave you to enjoy. What’s more, we’ll also return at a mutually convenient time later too, to clear everything away – so you don’t have to!
