    “We love the house.”

It was just as we expected and wanted. Even the internet worked after a little adjustment (placing modem closer to the window). The kitchen, the shower and central heating worked perfectly. The beds are quite comfortable. We had a great time in a great cottage. Thanks.

About the location

ST WEONARDS

Monmouth 8 miles; Ross-on-Wye 9 miles; Hereford 11 miles.

The historic village of St Weonards dates back to the Bronze Age, has a thriving village shop and post office, and offers many lovely walks and cycle routes, all surrounded by beautiful Herefordshire countryside. The village boasts a stunning 12th century church, and just south of the churchyard lies St Weonards Tump, originally a Bronze Age burial place, later used for morris dancing and village festivals. Just 8 miles away, the market town of Ross-on-Wye has many Tudor timbered buildings, a 17th century Market Hall, and individual shops, pubs and restaurants. You may wish to stroll along the River Wye, take a relaxing river cruise, or enjoy the countryside from a hot-air balloon. The magnificent Royal Forest of Dean, England's largest oak forest, is close by and offers many activities, including cycling, horse riding, abseiling and canoeing, as well as many lovely walks. Or visit the pretty village of Symonds Yat, which straddles the beautiful River Wye with its lovely scenery and magnificent limestone 'rock', popular with climbers. Guests can also enjoy Hereford with its fascinating Mappi Mundi world map and chained library, Hay-on-Wye, often referred to as 'the town of books', Ledbury with its many food and drink festivals, the majestic Black Mountains and scenic Brecon Beacons National Park, all of which are within easy travelling distance.
