“On first arrival the cottage appeared very good, however a few things could be improved to enhance the guest experience.”

Namely, Kitchen/Lounge - Lightbulbs need checking/replacing. Sunken ceiling lights not working. Rather a persistent fly problem around entrance porch. No basic welcome pack. EG: Tea bags, milk, coffee etc. Shower room/Downstairs Bathroom - Heated towel rail not working. Reported in visitors book in 2023! Hand shower hose ingrained black dirt. No toiletries, only one toilet roll in each bathroom. We did leave a packet for future guests in the wardrobe drawer. No heating downstairs and upstairs bedroom. Moveable electric heater worked for about twenty minutes and gave up. Do not shower at the same time as the heat pump system cannot keep up with demand. Utility cupboard under stairs - Dusty untidy unkempt. Spare white quilt thrown on floor amongst the dust. Rear side garden needs attention. No Farm eggs offerred. Went home two days early.

Hello Mark, Many thanks for your review. It saddens me to read your comments. Some I agree with, others not so much. Thank you for pointing out lightbulbs. Having walked the cottage I assume you mean the hanging lights in the lounge of which a couple of the bulbs in the multi bulb fixing had gone. Easy to miss in the height of summer with so many hours of daylight. The spotlights in the kitchen all work so not sure why you had trouble turning them on. The towel rail does work; people tend to turn this off from the isolator switch in the bedroom. Heating works fine, however as you stayed in June not sure why this was needed anyway? Being an underfloor system, it does take time to heat the concreate floor and would only heat up should the temp fall below what is set on the thermostat in any given room. I very much doubt that this would be the case in the height of summer. You would have been given a full toilet roll and a spare in drawer under the sink in each bathroom. The showers are lovely digital waterfall showers, however if you choose to have the showers set to full pressure then it’s likely that the water pressure will struggle in any domestic setting when using multiple water sources at the same time. I shall make note of the cleaner’s cupboard under the stairs where she stores her equipment that she may need to keep it more up together for those choosing to look through. Being a working livestock farm then flys will be present during the summer months. As with all our guests we welcome those that wish to return, however on this occasion sadly we were not the right fit. I wish you well. Property Owner
