Wyck Rissington, Bourton on the Water & surrounding area
For families and groups, old or young Park Stables is absolutely spot on, ideal. We love it! Set in the heart of the Cotswolds' most popular region it is within a very short drive of the most well known locations (Burford, Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton on the Water). It also has a couple of very good pubs, The Lamb at Great Rissington called The Feathered Nest at Westcote are both within 5 mins drive, so in short you have everything here to create an enjoyable and memorable holiday. Recently renovated the barn, which is all on one level, is super comfy thanks to its abundance of space and quality of furnishings. So, just relax and spread out as you will feel right at home here. Mega-well insulated its cosy (with the all important wood burner) and gorgeous in winter, yet fling open the doors and windows and you can let the fresh country-air flood in. There's plenty of seating for lounging, a large dining table for hearty meals which you can whip up in the slick kitchen. The bedrooms are spacious (to the say the least) and with three bathrooms, you each get your space and privacy. Outside is a small, but perfectly adequate garden with lashings of parking. The property is in a beautiful countryside location with great walks nearby including the wonderful renowned Oxfordshire Way. Heavenly and perfectly quintessential Cotswolds!

Park Stables sits on a little lane at the top of the hill just outside the villages of Little Rissington and Wyck Rissington. Wyck (pronounced 'wick') is more a hamlet, but very pretty nonetheless, hidden down a lane making it a place that you would hardly know exists unless you were sent there! Little Rissington is similarly small and classic, laden with chocolate box Cotswold cottages in every direction every inch the typical, local village for this region.
The location of the property is ideal for people who fancy getting out and about to see some of the most well known parts of the Cotswolds. Bourton on the Water is about 5 mins away and there you will find many of the famous elements which make the Cotswolds so popular with visitors. Stow on the Wold and Burford are each within 10mins (max) and in both you will find a very wide and excellent range of shops, restaurants and bars not to mention places to browse.
Your nearest pub is probably The Lamb at Great Rissington and for fine dining The Feathered Nest in Nether Westcote, which serves excellent food (very good indeed!) but above all has an incredible postion overlooking the Cotswolds and its views. You will find it spectacular.
Bourton is particularly known for its very pretty feel, especially the six arched bridges which cross the river that passes through the village as well as a few family attractions - The Motor Museum, Birdland and The Model Village are all good little excursions. Lower Slaughter and Upper Slaughter are very close and are amongst the most beautiful villages in the entire Cotswolds.
Slightly further afield are The Cotswolds Farm Park at Guiting Power (think Adam Henson and his healthy farming brigade!!) and The Cotswold Wildlife Park in Burford with lions and a wide selection of other animals.
There are some superb walks from your door, but be warned, the hills can get steep so prepare yourself with the right kit, but it is definitely worth it, especially with your pooch.
