Tackley is a picturesque village situated in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds, approx 8 miles north of Oxford and 3 miles from Woodstock, home of Blenheim Palace. The name Tackley is derived from 'tack' which means sheep or ewe and 'ley' which means glade or clearing! The village is very pretty, has a good village shop and a local pub The Gardiner Arms. There is another pub just outside the village called Sturdy's Castle.
Nearby there are some superb attractions to visit. Rousham Hall is very close by and although there are restrictions to visiting etc, it is a beautiful stately home. Oxford,'The city of the Dreaming Spires' and colleges is just 15 mins by car. There are literally hours of things to do there! For the determined shopper, Bicester Village which is a vast outlet centre.
Woodstock has a good range of local pubs, along with restaurants, shops and stores while the famous Blenheim Palace, home to the Duke of Malborough is well worth a day trip.

"A wonderful peaceful location, cottage is of the highest standard and, if you’re lucky, you get to see the deer!"Jackson 2017-09-22
"Gorgeous cottage, lovely environment, only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 was just that I hadn't expected there to be no basic supplies, such as tea and coffee. Other places I've stayed have provided a few basics, but luckily there was a little shop nearby and I could go and stock up."Havard 2017-09-02
