Ascott, Chipping Norton & surrounding area
Little Barn, ETB 4 stars, is a wonderful renovated stone barn which faces South overlooking farm fields. Detached from the main village in a peaceful and secluded valley surrounded by oak trees, Little Barn is a popular holiday cottage which has been converted to a high specification. Exposed beams and solid pine doors and furniture, with flagstone floors downstairs and fitted carpets upstairs create a rich, cosy property with a welcoming ambience. From the cottage, there is a large secure courtyard facing south with large pots of flowers and garden furniture. Ascott is a small peaceful hamlet about half a mile beyond Whichford.
Excellent Kitchen / Dining Room with a high ceiling and exposed beams, fully fitted and equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, electric oven and hob, fridge (freezer in outhouse), microwave.
Hallway to Sitting Room with comfortable sofas and armchairs, TV and DVD Player. Off the hallway is a spacious curtained recess with a sofa bed for two extra people if required. This can also be used as a quiet reading area.
Bedroom One, double bedroom with 5ft bed.
Bedroom Two, with two single beds.
Bathroom with bath, power shower over bath, WC and washbasin. All rooms overlook the courtyard with fantastic open farmland views.

There is a landline in the property which is chargeable at the end of the stay direct to the owner.
Ascott is a quaint and attractive village situated in the northern Cotswolds, also part of the Oxfordshire Cotswolds. The region is undulating and ideal for walking, very much 'off the beaten track'. There are number of similarly attractive villages in this area some with the all important local pub! Nearest is Whichford which is a particular favourite for us here, but also worth visiting are Hook Norton, Great Rollright (famous for the Rollright Stones - which are like Stonehenge and prehistoric!) plus others in the vicinity. In Whichford, The Norman Knight serves good quality local ale and food, and there is also the famous Whichford Pottery renowned for its outdoor planters.
Chipping Norton is approximately 6 miles away with a good choice of restaurants, pubs and several shops including a good size supermarket. There are also some good home shops plus a renowned Antiques Warehouse which is certainly worth a visit - there's a cafe there too. Popular spots such as Burford, Stow on the Wold and Bourton on the Water are all about 30 mins away from Ascott.
Bigger locations/destinations of Stratford upon Avon and Oxford are within an easy drive too so the cottage is good base for touring the Cotswolds.
Personally we say you should either get walking or get on your bike!! The countryside is stunning
"Arrived to a very warm welcome by the "little barn" owners John and Julie. A quiet delightful cottage with everything you could ask for ! Weather a little wet but we did make most of the sun on the large south facing patio !! A definite recommendation Lesley and Andrew from Rutherglen Glasgow "Miller 2017-07-31
"Brilliant holiday. Little Barn was all we had hoped for. We hope the cake in the fridge was left for us cos we scoffed the lot. Very nice too. On the last day we managed to find time to go to the local pottery for pots and more cake. Also very nice."Mr Jennings 2014-08-01
"Cottage was lovely and in ideal location and beautiful surroundings."Mr Venning 2012-07-01
