Minster Lovell, Burford & surrounding area
Invisible to passers-by and surrounded by countryside Ewe Cub Barn at Grove Farm is a Cotswold gem. The barn is located at the end of a private, tree lined drive and tucked in a corner of the farm. Tastefully renovated to an immaculate standard mixing contemporary touches with classic Cotswold features. Together these provide a very high quality of self catering accommodation which has been carefully improved and maintained keeping it 'tip -top' - and we're sure you will agree. Views across the farm are almost uninterrupted - bar the horses. The location is perfect for touring the Cotswolds or popping into Oxford. Inside the barn is absolutely spotless, presented to a very high standard, attractive and spacious and equally perfect for two or four people. The owners are delightful and helpful yet discrete so you can sit in peace or get the hot tips on the nearby places to see! A gem of a barn. Minster Lovell is a village approx 5 miles to the east of Burford and roughly 15/20 minutes to the west of Oxford. Although the farm is set on the edge of the village, you are within a close distance to a couple of pubs and a simple village shop selling basics. The village is roughly split into two sections with the 'Old Minster Lovell' set aside the River Windrush and amongst some simply gorgeous surroundings. There are historically significant ruins on the edge of the village - specifically Minster Lovell Hall, the 15th century home of Lord Lovell, a powerful associate of King Richard III.
Old Minster Lovell has a good gastro-pub, and there are several public houses to choose from in the local area. The look of the old village is typical of the Cotswolds with picturesque thatched cottages, stone buildings and a beautiful cricket club. This is a truly English village! The market town of Witney with many shops and supermarkets is about 2 miles away, where there is a cinema, plus a growing collection of quality shops to choose from.
Oxford, and its 'dreaming spires' plus many attractions is approx 20 minutess drive away, accessed easily from the barns at Grove Farm. We would certainly recommend a day trip if nothing else. Otherwise, famous Cotswolds locations such as Burford, Stow on the Wold, Bourton on the Water and Woodstock with Blenheim Palace, are all within a short driving distance. For families, the Cotswold Wildlife Park is about 8 minutess drive away - one of the region's most popular tourist attractions and one heavily recommended.
"Nice environment, clean, nice people"Mr Koning 2017-10-24
"The position of the property gave very good access for all my daughter and I wanted to see and do in such a beautiful part of the country. We fell in love with Oxford and could not believe how easy it was to visit, using the excellent Park and Ride! There are also NT properties within easy reach and also Kelmscott – which was a big attraction to us. "grist 2017-09-14
"A suitable location for different activities. Modern and appropriate cottage. Mr Josten, April 2017. "Josten 2017-04-18
