Leigh, Cirencester & surrounding area
If you like peace and tanquility, but want action nearby Dairy Cottage could be for you! Set within a small farm dating back to the 17th Century, this attractive holiday home enjoys some fantastic views across open countryside, where you are free to roam for miles and miles - especially if you decide to bring your dog. Not only that, but you are right on the edge of the Cotswold Water Park where more paths lie waiting to be explored or wildlife to be spotted. Alternatively, at the Water Park's lakes you could decide to sail, canoe, bike plus a host of other activities that will keep you energised and active! Inside the barn there are two bedrooms and two bathrooms plus an open plan living space that is spacious, vaulted and looking towards the great views. The barn's conversion has been to a good standard with some lovely touches throughout, such as the heated limestone flooring which looks great, the wood burner for those winter evenings and two bathrooms. In our opinion this is families and pets will enjoy this property which offers, space, tranquility and convenience for everyone. You may even get some eggs from the chickens from the very hospitable (but non-invasive!) owners who live in the farmhouse.
The cottage is on one level and therefore suitable for those with limited mobility.

Dairy Cottage is located on a small farm on the edge of the hamlet of Leigh, which is approximately 6 miles south of Cirencester and 2 miles from the Saxon village of Cricklade. There is a pub in the village, The Foresters Arms, which we haven't tested (yet!), additionally there are a few more in the surrounding villages. The area is relatively rural and unspoilt with a wealth of paths for walks and cycle rides.
The hamlet is very close to the Cotswold Water Park, which is a beautiful area packed with lakes but also some glorious countryside - amongst the most well known in the region. The area has been nurtured over the years and is now very much a nature haven with an exceptional range of flora and fauna in existence. There are many walks, cycle ride paths and other water based activities (sailing, fishing and wake boarding for example) all nearby. There is also a hotel and spa (treatments available if of interest) plus a few cafes and similar in various spots. The Cotswold Water Park is especially good for families with a wealth of fun activities and things to do that will keep you all occupied and happy, all year round.
There is also golf is nearby at the Cricklade Hotel and Country club where there is a challenging 9 hole course as well as other courses nearby.
Other local places to visit include Malmesbury and Tetbury which are delightful market towns and have a wealth of charming shops and cafes etc. Tetbury is especially renowned for its antiques!
Westonbirt Arboretum is a stunning arboretum covering hundereds of acres of land and is definitely worth a visit. We love it!
