“Magpie cottage is a superb, quaint place to stay.”

It has many original features, with modern comforts. The garden is delightful - a quintessentially English cottage style. We were very comfortable and it was extremely safe for our dog. The cottage is situated conveniently for a local pub. Parking for two vehicles is right outside the gate. A good location for visiting local area being right on the main road between Worcester and Malvern (a busy road but not intrusive noise-wise as cottage is set well back). It has many original features, with modern comforts. The garden is delightful - a quintessentially English cottage style. We were very comfortable and it was extremely safe for our dog. The cottage is situated conveniently for a local pub. Parking for two vehicles is right outside the gate. A good location for visiting local area being right on the main road between Worcester and Malvern (a busy road but not intrusive noise-wise as cottage is set well back). Pro's: comfortable/lots of thoughtful touches/washer dryer and clothes line/maps, books and local info/throws/cooling fan (very welcome in the current heatwave)/well stocked kitchen/plenty of hot water/milk,cake,teas and coffees, basic condiments provided (but no dog treats or items - as was suggested by other guests - the cleaner probably forgot?)/wonderful garden full of plants and birdlife (and hedgehogs!)/lovely seating areas. Con's: the shower/bath combo looks lovely but proves quite impractical and difficult to get in and out of, and to keep water within bath whilst showering can be a challenge. We worked out a system eventually but it could be tricky if care isn't taken. The neighbours adjoining have some sort of electrical item making a loud humming noise on the party wall behind the bed in the master bedroom. It was quite noisy and kept us awake so we ended up having to move into the other, smaller bedroom - luckily we were able to do this, but had our friends been able to join us (they had to cancel last minute) it would have been a big problem as we couldn't have moved rooms. We would certainly book again, however, as we thoroughly enjoyed the property. It wasn't overpriced, and felt like home from home rather than a soulless holiday let. 10 out of 10.

“Charming cottage with every facility and utensil you could need and clean as a whistle.”

Milk and fruit leaf were nice touches. Pretty garden with comfy seats and a useful garden room should it rain. The main bedroom is a little tricky if, like us, you're tall but we knew this from the cottage description and it was fine - with a very comfortable king size bed. Ultra dog friendly too, with a wash down and super doggy box of toys, towels etc. A very convenient, quiet cottage yet just a short walking distance to the bus route to Worcester and Malvern. It was summer with eatly dawns and hot weather whilst we were there, so curtains on the smaller bedroom windows would be good - we improvised with spare towels. That said, we had a lovely stay, thank you.

“Overall great accommodation and wonderful location for sightseeing and exploring.”

We would definitely be happy to return. The cottage was ideal for our stay (3 adults and a dog) with all the amenities we required with a pleasant garden. Couple of small issues:- There were no outside seats or table and there were no blinds/curtains for the 2 small windows in the master bedroom.

“Magpie Cottage is a beautiful property with a lot of great features.”

Kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. The property was lovely and warm and lots of hot water for showers. We didn't really use the summer house/room as the sun never really seemed to be on it even though we had some lovely sunny days. A couple of constructive points - there was no outside furniture to sit and have a coffee in the garden when it's a nice day, and we did have a couple over the weekend, and the shower we didn't really enjoy. We found that the shower curtain got in the way when showering and once it's pulled round the bath you can't get to the shelf to get products as it's behind the curtain and you risk water getting on the floor behind the bath. We are a 50 something couple and got in and out easy but I do wonder how people less agile would get in and out of the bath. The bath is lovely but I personally feel a really good size shower cubicle would be so much better.

Malvern 3.5 miles

The pretty village of Callow End is perfectly situated just 3.5 miles from the charming town of Malvern. Callow End boasts two excellent village pubs and a Post Office with small shop. Many lovely walks can be enjoyed from the village with the Three Choirs Way and Monach's Way passing close by. Malvern dates back to the Bronze Age and is situated on the eastern side of the dramatic Malvern Hills.
