Description

Sailsbury 10.3 miles.

8 Rookhaye is a charming converted barn situated on a working farm complex within the Cranborne Chase National Landscape, in Bowerchalke near Coombe Bissett.

With serene countryside views of Wiltshire, this retreat is perfect for families or couples seeking a peaceful escape amidst nature's beauty.

Upon entering the property, be greeted by an open-plan living space, with ample seating making it a real social hub of the property.

Be delighted by the newly-furnished contemporary interior, seamlessly blending with the characterful features of vaulted ceilings and hardwood stable doors, offering a glimpse of the building's past.

Unwind on the sofa (which may be made into a sofa bed for your convenience), while catching up on your favourite shows on the TV.

When hunger strikes, cook up a storm in the well-equipped kitchen, and enjoy it at the dining table, awaiting dinner party natter and family bonding.

On warmer nights, open the patio door for a spot of tranquillity with your favourite evening beverage, and get lost in the starry skies above.

When it's time to retire for the night, head upstairs to the two beautifully presented bedrooms.

The king-size bedroom boasts a Juliette balcony, offering stunning views of the rolling hills.

The second bedroom is a twin room, which can be converted into a super-king-size on request, offering flexibility to suit your needs.

In the morning, freshen up with an indulging soak in the bathtub, or a steamy rinse in the shower while pondering how you will begin the day.

When it’s time to venture afar, there are a plethora of picture-postcard walking routes to choose from; whether you’re an avid hiker or simply love venturing the great outdoors, there is something for everyone to cater their holiday.

Explore the local area and immerse yourself in nature at the RSPB Garston Wood, before enjoying a meal at The Queen's Head pub in Broad Chalke or the nearby Horseshoe Inn, Ebbesbourne Wake.

Not too far away you'll find the remarkable Fovant Badges – a unique hillside display of regimental badges, created by soldiers during the First World War.

Each badge symbolises an intriguing piece of history, deserving a visit for an unusual and fine blend of sentimental, historical, and natural beauty.

A short drive away will bring you to the medieval city of Salisbury, a hidden gem bursting with heritage and enveloped around unspoilt countryside; history lovers and photographers alike cannot miss this hidden gem.

Venture further afield to Shaftesbury, where you can enjoy panoramic views from the renowned Gold Hill, made popular by the 1970's Hovis advert.

8 Rookhaye offers a perfect spot for adventures, nature lovers and history enthusiasts within the scenic Cranborne Chase National Landscape.

What guests are saying

Lovely comfy, clean and warm property.

Just needs a few more bits of kitchen equipment: pans, wooden spoon, peeler please But otherwise lovely stay in a very quiet location.

We enjoyed our stay in the property and we had everything we needed for our stay.

The track to the property is bumpy and potholed which didn't bother us but might not be so good if you were in a low slung sports car!
