Excellent accommodation.

Spacious, clean with everything you would possibly want. Remote location with lovely views. Nearest shops or pubs a car ride away so it might be worthwhile taking basic provisions with you for the start of the break. A lot of nice places to visit in the area a short car ride away

We had a lovely stay at Bushmills this weekend.

Beautiful accommodation with fantastic views. We loved walking the local lanes, which were quiet and scenic. Lots to do in the local area and we had an enjoyable meal at nearby Gwatkin Red Cow Tavern. Lindsey, the owner, was most accommodating and flexible on our arrival arrangements, as the weather that day was fierce. Also nice to visit Hay on Wye and Hereford - both within half an hour or so by car. A lovely property for a cosy Winter break, and it would be fabulous in Summer too!

This was our fifth time at the property so it goes without saying that that we love it and its location.

This time the weather was bit mixed so we made good use of the games room!

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location with great facilities.

As others have mentioned previously, the photos on the website don't do it justice! A little frustrating to be woken up early by the building work next door - perhaps a word with the owners there to ask them to start at a more civilised time of day!

This would have been perfect for us except for the builders next door starting up noisy machines at 7.

30 am On Friday morning, after we had a long journey the night before. Otherwise very comfortable, clean and good facilities. Hopefully we will come back next year when the building work has finished next door.

My family and I stayed in Bushmills for a weekend and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

We don't often get together so we appreciated the space, the facilities in the barn, the cleanliness and how well equipped the property is for all of our cooking and eating experiences over the weekend. My husband was also very impressed by the conversion and building work. Thank you for sharing the photographs of the conversion underway. Our only disappointment was we didn't get to meet the owners to thank them in person.

The property was perfect, bedrooms all great for 9 of us with the added bonus of a games room.

All the kitchen crockery etc was really great, plenty of it too. Set in lovely surroundings it was a stunning property, beautifully renovated and we had a great time.

This was our second stay at Bushmills, and we couldn’t wait to come back, we adore the house.

There is so much space for a family group of varying ages. The house is so warm and inviting, the underfloor heating was amazing during the recent cold snap. The kitchen is very well equipped. The beds are very comfortable. Four bathrooms are fantastic with a family group, showers have excellent water pressure. The surrounding countryside is amazing for exploring. Bushmills setting is in itself , tranquil. The morning birdsong is delightful. There are excellent eating out options within 10-15 minutes drive of the house. We had a fantastic week and cannot wait to come back.

We stayed at Bushmills for Christmas and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Having six adults and two children in our party there was ample room for us all . The cottage is very well equipped and warm and cosy with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.

Wonderful home for a family get together.

We loved it. Peaceful away from it all. Exactly what we were looking for. We will ge back.

This lovely converted barn was perfect for 3 generations of our family to enjoy a few days away together.

The fact that it has a ground floor is one of the reasons we chose it as my dad has mobility issues; but we would definitely return. The views are spectacular. Although quite remote, it is only a short drive from Hereford. The property is well equipped and had everything we needed. We had hoped to enjoy the log burner, but due to unseasonally warm weather, and the underfloor heating, the property was incredibly warm and we had to turn the heating off. This small issue aside, we really enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

What a wonderful stay we had.

We were a mixed group of family ages, 9 people in total. The house has absolutely everything you would need for a comfortable stay. Super comfortable beds. Lots of space in the living areas. There are now fabulous new couches in the living room and a larger dining table than in the pictures. The underfloor heating makes everything cosy. It’s very convenient to have so many bathrooms when there are so many people. Stunning scenery in a fantastic rural setting but with so many local attractions. Great pubs for evening meals within 10-20 minutes drive. So much to see and explore. We will definitely be back.

Comfortable beds with good linen. All bedrooms spacious with 2 ensuite plus 2 further bathrooms. Fabulous views. Large car park

Beautiful barn conversion in a beautiful location.

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived as the photos do not do the barn justice. All the rooms were of a good size and airy. Great space for a large group. Lindsey was very quick to reply to any questions we had. Would definitely return for another stay

Our family of 9 had a lovely stay in this property, it was very spacious, clean and had everything we needed.

The kids loved playing in the garden and the countryside location made for very quiet and peaceful evenings. Will definitely recommend to friends and family!

We were a very mixed family, 2 Adults over 65.

1 Family of 2 Adults with 1 16 yr old and 1 5yr old, 2 Adults with a 4yr old, but Bushmills was a great pick for all of us. There was everything you needed for a perfect holiday. The added extras (Tea, Coffee, Sugar, Milk and Biscuits) were very much appreciated. Also the fact that there were dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, pan scrub, dishcloth and tea towels made our stay easier. The games room was well equipped and well used. We would have no hesitation in recommending Bushmills to other families for a wonderful family holiday. Thank you for your hospitality and thoughtfulness. We would like to return one day.

This was our 4th trip to Bushmills which says it all really !

It’s a substantial, comfortable house with everything well thought out. It’s in a quiet but stunning location with fabulous views. The owners could not have been more helpful!

Had a lovely stay at Bushmills.

The house is beautiful, very clean and comfortable and has everything you need. The living / kitchen / dining area is a great space and there was plenty of room for us all. Bedrooms are really big and it was lovely having two with en-suites. The games room is a lovely addition and has tabletennis, fussball and darts. Beautiful surroundings too.

The house was perfect for a multi-generation gathering for a family wedding held locally.

Plenty of bathrooms meant that there was no queueing on the day of the wedding! The kitchen was superbly equipped for feeding all of us on Friday night and for putting on a brunch on the Sunday for those staying, plus extra family members staying locally. The location and view from the property was superb. Narrow country lanes did not phase us at all. SatNav was brilliant for getting us to and from locations; however, we never came back the same way twice! We met Lindsey as we were departing and she was most friendly and chatty. I would have no hesitation in recommending the property for larger gatherings. The open plan living/dining/kitchen was brilliant for allowing us to socialise freely (it helped that the weather was kind and we could utilise the patio too). The photos do not do it justice, as the furniture has been changed since they were taken and it has a more modern feel downstairs now.

Bushmills was a perfect destination for meeting up with family, we had plenty of room, loads of equipment/extras such as foil and cling film in the kitchen and the good weather helped for walking the footpaths!

The games room provided us with a daily table tennis challenge and the patio furniture was ideal for morning coffees. Only downside was the 3/4 mile narrow lane for us nervous drivers! but we found the easier way through Abbeydore - it's longer but more relaxing! The owner was very helpful, friendly and always available for us - 3 nights weren't long enough!

Beautiful converted barn.

Lovely welcome gifts as well, thank you. Bedrooms all very comfortable and very clean. Every item possible in kitchen we didn’t need anything. Living area was perfect for us we were on a girly craft and reading weekend. Great location, we visited Hereford city centre and the famous book town Hay-on-Wye both less than 30mins drive away. We would all love to do the same again next year! The views were amazing, we were very lucky to have beautiful weather while visiting.

As soon as we walked in we realised how lucky we were to have found such a beautiful place to stay for the weekend! We loved it that much we have actually booked it again for next year and with an extra night!

This is a good barn conversion, adequately furnished.

A reclining chair would be useful for older and more infirm persons.

This was a lovely property and even better than on the photos listed.

Some lovely treats left for us as well as milk and tea and coffee. The fire was laid up ready for us too. We gave Lindsay a call about a couple of issues and the response was really quick and they were sorted in no time, a lovely friendly lady. Would definitely look at visiting again.

Possibly says it all that it was our third year running that we stayed at a Bushmills .

It’s a wonderfully comfortable house in a quiet but beautiful location. Extremely well equipped and thought out. If it’s important to other visitors the mobile signal is poor but the wifi decent. I can’t imagine we won’t be back.

Great week of summery weather.

A pleasure to enjoy the sunrise whilst having breakfast outside. Lovely rural location with lots of superb walking nearby. Games room and BBQ added to our enjoyment of Bushmills. Bit odd that Bushmills was set up as if COVID was still a significant threat, and a sad reminder of tough times we’d put behind us. Overall, Bushmills worked very well for us. Would happily book it again for a summer holiday.

We had a lovely week with the whole family (9) at Bushmills.

It is very spacious and comfortable and the garden was ideal for 3 small children. A little remote but that didn't stop us having days out and enjoying the countryside. Plenty of parking, lovely welcome touches...milk, cider, snacks and flowers provided by the host who was very prompt in answering queries. The view was amazing and it was so peaceful! Loved our time at National Trust - The Weir and also Raglan Farm and Hay on Wye...picnic at The Warren and paddling in the river.

An excellent venue in a most beautiful spot.

Bushmills was a great location and size for our family group of 8 adults.

The views from the house are stunning especially of the rainbows which kept appearing because of showery weather! The cyclists and runners amongst us loved being able to access quiet country lanes and footpaths so easily. 3 nights wasn't long enough though!

I don’t think the pictures do it justice, the place is amazing with a view I could never tire of.

Lovely and clean cupboards are full of every utensil or cooking implement you could need, beds are huge and comfy

Excellent property for Easter Break with 2 x families

Lovely cottage, great family space.

We all loved our stay, children loved being able to sleep with their cousins and the adults loved all the additional touches. Milk in fridge and chocolates to enjoy a nice cup of tea on arrival.

Beautiful location and lovely house.

Open plan living area worked really well with multiple families staying. Everything was well stocked and good facilities available for cooking meals. Had great fun in the games room.

We had 3 nights and as a family , we had everything we could possibly want for catering for a large group. It is a large property with 4 great size rooms. Plenty of space and facilities. We would happily come back.

We had a fantastic family Christmas stay at Bushmills.

The owners kindly decorated and left some complimentary bits to get us started, which was much appreciated. The barn has everything you could possibly need for a stay. The layout is fantastic for a family. The location is amazing, with great views.

My husband and I recently booked this for my son's 30th birthday, to stay with his sister, her fiancé & a few friends.

They said the property was wonderful and they had a fantastic stay. The owners had left chocolates too which was very thoughtful. Would definitely recommend!

What a fantastic property.

We had a lovely stay at Bushmills. We had one issue during the stay - just one of those things, but it was resolved within an hour. Great level of service from the hosts who were super friendly.

This was our second time at the property which is spacious , well equipped and very comfortable.

It is in a beautiful part of Herefordshire with stunning views.

A very well equipped property which had been thoroughly cleaned.

Located in a beautiful area we were occupied for the week with walks and visits to multiple tourist locations not too far away including the Black and White village trail, Black Mountains, Hay on Wye and Hereford. Some uninvited guests including a couple of bats enlivened our stay but, hey, it's the countryside. The games room was an added bonus.

This was the second time we have stayed at Bushmills and the whole group of 9 had a terrific time.

! Even better than we imagined, the pictures don’t do this gorgeous property justice. It’s beautiful! Everything was so clean, we had all the facilities and kitchen equipment that we needed and more, which is a huge bonus when there’s 8 of you! We loved having four bathrooms too, no waiting around in the morning. The beds were really comfy and the property was so toasty warm! I’d give this 6 stars if I could

Great house for a family holiday, this is a very spacious house.

Well equipped kitchen, lots of crockery, cutlery etc, which you don’t always get.

We had a wonderful holiday in this beautifully converted and located property.

It’s very spacious ,well equipped and thoughtfully laid out. The views are stunning and we were lucky enough to see a pair of Red Kites circling above on our first morning. It is a quiet area of Herefordshire but not far from Hereford or Hay on Wye. Dore Abbey is worth a look and there are some lovely old church’s nearby including the fascinating and beautifully located one at nearby Bacton. We enjoyed some competitive table tennis in the games room and ignore any grumbles in early reviews about the WiFi . It’s been upgraded and is excellent. Hope to go back . Ideal for families or groups of friends .

Lovely peaceful spot in Hereford.

Everything as stated, communication with owner very straightforward with everything as anyone would wish for as regards to Covid arrangements. Very enjoyable stay. Chocolates and cider on our arrival a very nice touch. Thank you.

Lovely rural place to stay.

The cottage is well equipped with everything you need. It is to a great standard. On the listing it says there is a pool table there isn't. You have ping pong, table football and darts.

Was an amazing getaway the weather was lovley the host was friendly an the neighbors were really friendly.

It is very quiet an peaceful the house was lovely with a modern cottage look the games room added to the fun an the bbq helped us out a great deal for the cooking. Only downside should have supplied more loo rolls an paper towels along with more washing sponges. I guess thats wasnt thought about as we were the first people to stay during this covid era

Overall this is a great place to stay!

- Very well kept, clean and very cosy in the winter (underfloor heating helps!). The owner is also really friendly and great to deal with. As much as I don't want to complain about anything, I think there are a few things that could be done to make this the best place we've stayed in and somewhere we would come back to EVERY YEAR! My friends and I go cycling in Wales every year. We are a group of (mature) guys, either 4 or 5 strong. The places we return to have a games room (which Bushmills has, HOWEVER IT STATES ON THE ADVERT THAT THERE IS A POOL TABLE AND THERE IS NOT ONE! - Which was actually disappointing given its one of the reasons we picked it), somewhere to store bikes (again covered), has a decent TV and Sky for the evenings (Bushmills does not have) and decent internet, as there or 4 or 5 of us trying to get on line when we are in the house (something Bushmills really lacks). Whilst I understand that some rural places don't have great internet, we find plenty of places in the local area that do, so it doesn't feel like that should be the reason Bushmills lacks. Its that bad I would even suggest either removing "WiFi" from the advert, or at least explain to people that it is next to useless. (dial up speed only).

The roads to and from the cottage are a bit narrow.

We went away for my mum’s 60 th birthday.

Everything we needed was at the cottage! There were plenty of kitchen utensils, cutlery, pans, cups, lively Prosecco glasses! Washing up liquid, bin bags and tea towels. There was a box of toys for he children, plenty of extra bedding, fans as it was very hot while we were there. Toilet roll and hand wash also available. So we had a great start to our weekend. The house was very clean and had a lovely feel to it, the photos really don’t do it justice- it’s beautiful. There is space to play games outside and a picnic bench and bbq which we used. It’s a very rural location which suited us. So handy to plan food in advance. We used the local chippy first night- about 3 mile away but quite a queue! Worth it though for the tasty fish!! Second day we went shopping to a supermarket. Great place to go for beautiful scenery and to get away from it all. The WiFi was unreliable which was only a problem when we were trying to google Things to do!! We had a brilliant time and I highly recommend this place for a holiday- you won’t be disappointment. Booking through Sykes was easy and hassle free too. Give it a go

Peaceful; a perfect place to relax

Really peaceful location.

Although we didn't use either loved the wood burner and BBQ. Prosecco in the fridge was a nice touch. Some sharper knives in the kitchen would have made it a perfect stay.

My Sykes app very useful, all information required was to hand at all times.

Also liked the places of interest sent through, The cottage we stayed in was lovely, with a kind owner leaving fresh chicken eggs and treats for the kids. Everything was as described and very enjoyable.

The owner was unobtrusive, extremely delightful and helpful when needed.

This is an excellent, spacious, modern holiday home for 3 generations as we were. Good, quiet, downstairs twin bedded (we pushed them together with ease) room and a small shower room for the older couple. Upstairs three large bedrooms (one triple bedded), two with en suites and a large bathroom for the others. All the furnishings, bed linen, etc are good quality. Everyone remarked on the comfort of the beds. A wonderful outlook with lots of parking not obscuring the panoramic view. The games room is an absolute bonus, especially when, as we had, some very ‘mixed’ weather. Our only negative, not being walkers, was that Kerry’s Gate is fairly rural with limited attractions in a 30 min radius. None of us keen in spending much time in a car having got there. But it did enable a younger member to go down memory lane in south Shropshire with his wife and children matching family paintings of their village done in the 70s and 80s by great grandparents to the landscape as it now is. Much unchanged should you wonder. The Abbey at Abbey Dore, Owl and Small Breeds Centre (don't stroke the owl as suggested if you value your fingers!) and Hay on Wye worth a visit. A good time was had by all.

A lovely property run by equally lovely owners.

We did have a problem during our stay but this was sorted out extremely quickly to our approval.

A wonderful property in a rural setting.

Ideal for large family get togethers or walking groups. Good all year round venue.

We had to leave early for family reasons and the owners Mr and Mrs Jenkins couldn’t have been more helpful.

We would love to go back sometime soon.

Excellent family holiday.

Plenty to do come rain or shine. The children & dads enjoyed the games room. The lawn hosted a brilliant water fight & the BBQ area was fantastic. We had extra guests there for the birthday meal but there was enough plates etc to go around. The kitchen was big enough to house 2 chefs. Would definitely stay there again.

The house was more over looked than we imagined.

This was a very warm, comfortable and well equipped property that was a perfect place for us have to have a family Christmas.

Having a downstairs bedroom was a real plus point for the eldest member of the party. If anything the pictures of the living area and kitchen didn’t do justice to the space or level of comfort. I don’t remember reading anything about the views from the cottage or garden so that was a pleasant surprise.
