Description

The Old Bakery, a five-bedroom, traditional Cotswold's property, is located in Hook Norton, Oxfordshire.

The home, which was formerly the village bakery, still has much of its original character, including exposed beams and floorboards and an old bakery oven, and is conveniently located near the stunning Cotswolds.

The kitchen/dining area features a beautiful central island, a dishwasher, and a washing machine, so you can prepare delicious meals for your family and friends to savour over celebratory bottles of bubbly in the dining area.

After dinner, spend some time in the backyard with a glass of your favourite beverage and soak up the last rays of the day.

After dinner, retire to the living room and curl up in front of your favourite show on the TV.

If you'd rather watch something else, the inviting snug has its own TV and plush sofas as well.

For your convenience, a cloakroom is located on the ground floor.

Take the stairs up to the first floor, where you'll find a well-appointed bathroom with a bathtub and an overhead shower, perfect for freshening up after a day of exploring.

As an added bonus, there is a second cloakroom, ensuring no morning queues!

Those in search of a little more seclusion can retreat to one of the five tastefully decorated bedrooms, which include a king size with an en-suite shower room, a king size with gorgeous freestanding bath, a third king size bedroom, a standard double and a twin.

The Sun Inn and Pear Tree Inn in the village are great places to eat with your loved ones, while Hook Norton Brewery is a great place to sample some of the area's best ales.

A butcher, Post Office, and a pizza delivery service are all available in the village.

Walking enthusiasts will be delighted by the 65-mile D'Arcy Dalton Way that passes through the village and leads to Wormleighton.

When it comes time for lunch or dinner, there are many great options in Chipping Norton, such as The Blue Boar and the Thai Shire.

If you're looking to stock up on fresh produce, stop by Diddly Squat Farm Shop, which was featured on the hit television show Clarkson's Farm.

Head further into the Cotswolds AONB to hike along the Cotswold Way that ends at Bath Abbey, visit the National Trust sites of Chedworth Roman Villa and Chastleton House, or stroll around the attractions of Batsford Arboretum and Garden Center and Sezincote House & Garden.

Do not miss out on visiting Shakespeare's birthplace and retirement home in Stratford-upon-Avon.

There are also many other fun things to see and do in this historic town, such as The MAD Museum, Tudor World, the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and river cruises on The River Avon.

Your Cotswolds adventure awaits at The Old Bakery.

Lovely house, very spacious and well equipped.

The only thing it could have done with in the bedroom were mirrors and dressing table.

We had a lovely weekend at The Old Bakery.

It was lovely and spacious for our group of eight adults and three children, with a decently equipped kitchen and a great-sized garden. The goodies left for us were lovely and appreciated, although a few extra essentials like salt and pepper would have been very helpful. Hook Norton is a really pleasant village to wander around, we ate breakfast at The Sun Inn one morning, which was great. The only feedback would be the quite late check in (5pm) and early check out (10am) times, which felt tight for a weekend stay. The hosts did call on the day to let us know we could check in a bit earlier, around 3pm, which was hugely helpful with the young kids. Overall we had a really lovely stay and would recommend this cottage.
