The property

The Wren’s Nest sits within the rural village of Peterstow in Herefordshire, in the heart of the Wye Valley, surrounded by Duchy of Cornwall Land, creating a peaceful retreat for families and friends looking to uncover the beauty of this scenic region.

With its garden opening to gentle countryside views and its position within reach of the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park, it offers an inviting base for walkers, festival‑goers and anyone who enjoys time outdoors.

Walks start right from the front door, with no need to get into a car.

Arriving at the property, you pull into the generous parking area before stepping out into the quiet surroundings where the charming stone exterior hints at the calm waiting inside.

As you approach the door, the garden suggests relaxed mornings on the patio and lingering moments in the open air.

Once indoors, the kitchen welcomes you with rich green tones and wooden textures, encouraging you to set down your bags, put on the kettle and enjoy the soft interplay of colour and light while you prepare your first meal.

The dining table provides a natural gathering point for everything from familiar breakfasts to leisurely evening suppers.

Moving through to the living and dining room, beams overhead draw your gaze upwards as natural light fills the space, inviting you to sink into one of the two sofas or settle into an armchair on the red rug where the pillows add gentle warmth.

The circular dining space feels bright and more formal, especially when you open the doors for fresh air to drift in, and the TV offers a welcome spot to unwind after a day of exploring.

Here, the wooden staircase rises to the mezzanine, guiding you to the next part of the cottage.

At the top, the landing unfolds beneath a wooden ceiling with a Velux window spilling daylight across an armchair that lends itself perfectly to quiet reading, enhanced by the artwork adorning the walls.

Both bedrooms continue this tranquil feel, each set beneath a wooden ceiling with Velux windows that let the morning light spill in; the King-size room pairs rustic wooden doors with tasteful artwork, while the twin room offers a similarly gentle space with soft carpeting underfoot.

The bathroom is bright and uplifting, framed by a sloping wooden ceiling with another Velux window casting a delicate glow across the room.

Outside, the garden provides space to wander across the lawn or settle at the patio table to admire the surrounding landscape.

When you venture further afield, the area opens to memorable experiences: in Bannau Brycheiniog National Park you can walk through wide open hills and pause beside clear streams while watching red kites glide overhead; in Hay-on-Wye you can explore its celebrated bookshops, soak up the atmosphere of its renowned literary events and stroll beside the river as paddlers pass by; and throughout the Wye Valley you can follow peaceful riverbank paths beneath wooded slopes, uncover historic viewpoints and try gentle canoeing along quiet waters.

Ross-on-Wye is famous for its river walks, fishing, wildlife and the famous horseshoe bend view.

Herefordshire is famous for its cider and local beers, its' festivals for history, poetry, walking and artist trails, and of course Offa's Dyke.

Theatre can be found in Ross-on-Wye, Monmouth, Hereford, and Malvern. A wonderful day can be spent driving the Black and White trail from Leominster, the Elgar Route or in the Spring, a Blossom trail.

Returning to The Wren’s Nest, you are met once again with its tranquil rhythm and the simple pleasure of unwinding in a beautiful corner of Herefordshire.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £250.
