The pretty market towns of Ludlow and Leominster also make great days out as well as visiting one of the many National Trust properties in the area.

The thriving village of Yarpole nestles in beautiful Herefordshire countryside, equidistant between the pretty market towns of Ludlow and Leominster. Mentioned in the Doomesday Book, Yarpole boasts an award-winning village shop - the first full time shop in a church, along with a traditional country pub and a Post Office! Just a short walk from the village is Bircher Common, an area of lowland heath offering lovely views of the surrounding Marches, ideal for enjoying the peace and tranquility of the area. Close by, enjoy an afternoon visit to the Monkland Cheese Dairy, a working dairy producing and selling local, artisan cheeses, as well as offering a well-stocked shop and cafe. Leominster, dating back to the 7th century, possesses some fine examples of architecture including the Priory Church, along with a wide variety of shops, cafes, antique centres and pubs – it’s an ideal place to spend an afternoon.
