Wonderful cottage.

So well furnished with everything you could possibly need in a beautiful location. Paddocks to walk the dog. Chickens, quails and even a barn owl. Amanda is a lovely helpful lady and her dog Tiggy is adorable. We will be back!

Beautiful setting in rural Wiltshire Looks of wildlife to see including a hare.

Friendly host who greeted us on arrival. The cottage facilities and decor were excellent. We would certainly stay again and it's highly recommended.

We had two issues with out cottage Firstly, it did not have a Woodburner as in the original description and on-line photographs.

It was in fact a gas burner which had been disconnected for safety reasons. This was a huge disappointment as we had booked to stay for a week over Christmas. Secondly, the oven did not work properly. It was not getting up to temperature very quickly so it took forever to cook anything and then it could not maintain a temperature of 200 resulting in an insipid looking Turkey, which took much longer than it should to cook. The owner helped out by giving us access to another oven but it meant we had to go outside and around the back of the property with all of our baked food for a full Christmas lunch. Furthermore, the Oven had previously had problems for another guest three months before so it seems the owner ignored their feedback and the oven was not fixed. We did not have a working oven all week apart from help with Christmas day. All this and we are still waiting for any compensation given that Sykes cottages website does not recognise our booking reference and we are waiting for them to contact us.

Overall comfortable accomodation.

Friendly welcome. Good size fridge/freezer. Kitchen equipment not so good..Oven & microwave took ages to cook anything. Lovely area for things to do and see. Several National Trust properties in a 30 mile radius.

This is an exceptionally well-appointed and comfortable cottage with everything we needed.

It is in an excellent location for exploring Wiltshire, Dorset and Somerset. The owners provided helpful information about local amenities and places to visit and were friendly and welcoming. Thoroughly recommended.

The cottage is delightful, immaculately clean with everything you could want for a lovely relaxing break.

November wouldn’t ordinarily be ideal for a stay, but it didn’t matter because it is so peaceful, cosy and welcoming. There are many places to visit within a short distance so there is plenty to do if you can tear yourself away from the cottage. We can’t wait to come back, maybe in the warmer months, but any time would be lovely.

Amanda was the perfect hostess; welcoming, friendly and on hand if needed.The properly is within easy reach of many places yet is peaceful with wildlife and dark skies. We loved it.

The only negative comment we could add is the single track roads leading to the property.

Really lovely holiday home in a beautiful rural setting.

Ideally situated for exploring the local area. The property is well maintained and has everything you need (non slip mats in the shower and bath would be a useful addition). Amanda and Rick are welcoming but leave you to your own devices. We enjoyed watching the antics of the chickens!

Just one suggestion, my husband being less mobile, needed to use the walk in shower.

His balance isn’t good and he would have liked a non slip mat in the shower cubicle as it was quite slippery after a shower was taken.

Having read all the glowing reviews, we were not really surprised to find how perfect the property is - but we were absolutely delighted!

We shared the cottage with a couple of friends, so the fact that both bedrooms were en-suite was a great advantage. Amanda and Rick are ideal hosts.

We have had a great stay at this lovely property, not only is it very comfortable it is also well equipped with everything you need.

Although it is set in a rural location the town of Gillingham is a short drive away and had all the major shops and stores for our needs. We look forward to returning again.

Always a pleasure to stay at Keepers Cottage, it's so warm and homely and the kitchen is well equipped, we'll be back again next year for sure.

Amanda is a really lovely lady, she makes sure you have everything you need for a lovely relaxing holiday. And she never bothers you at all. Toby our dog really loves the paddock, lots of great sniffs for him.

Keepers Cottage was more of a home from home experience than a holiday let.

We felt very comfortable and relaxed here with everything that we needed. The undercover parking was also a bonus especially in poor weather. Amanda was very friendly and welcoming and we were sad to leave.

The weather was not too good so we appreciated the warm, cosy, comfortable cottage also the welcome treats that Amanda gave us, a lovely surprise. Would definitely return to it if in Wiltshire again.

We found the pre arrival email very helpful for our stay, so much useful information with regards to local amenities and restaurants/ takeaways. The cottage exceeded our expectations and was so comfortable and homely. The little touches such as the pint of milk, biscuits and toiletries left for us were so thoughtful and really appreciated. We would not hesitate to stay again soon.

Excellent location for getting about and we particularly enjoy the local country show which was on the week we stayed.

We loved Keepers cottage, it had everything for a comfortable stay.

It is very secluded and quiet, both bedrooms with en-suite and very good showers. The area around is worth exploring, there’s is byson and elk farm a short walk away, where you can see owls, a donkey, pony and Guinea fowls. Several national trusts nearby, Compton Abbas airfield where you can watch planes take coming in and out. We visited Bath, Castle Combe village in Cotswolds, Messums barn/gallery in Tisbury, and Bournemouth which are all within 1 hour drive away. We were in the middle of the heatwave but cottage stayed cool. Amanda was a great host and nice to talk to. Milk and cake on arrival were much appreciated!

Keepers Cottage is a very comfortable holiday cottage and one we always enjoy returning to.

Given the warm days Britain has been having this summer we particularly enjoyed being able to open the large patio doors from the sitting room.

Situated well for visiting Stonehenge, Salisbury, the coast and more. The cottage was comfortable, well equipped and exceptionally clean. Amanda, the owner was friendly and very helpful. We have stayed in many of Sykes cottages over the years and we rate Keepers Cottage as one of our favourites.

Our stay at keepers cottage was superb as was Amanda the owner who was very helpful and friendly.

The cleanliness, facilities and views of countryside were lovely. We saw deer in the field outside our lounge along with chickens. On our second evening we watched an aircraft fireworks display which was fantastic. Our only negative was the extra firm mattress in the larger bedroom which we found too hard. However this could be our personal opinion We would definitely stay here again if we visit Wiltshire in the future

This was our third stay at the cottage and once again we were not disappointed.

We were welcomed on arrival and given a run down about the cottage and the wider area. The cottage itself was beautiful- spacious, clean and there were so many thoughtful touches added. There were lots of lovely walks and lots of things to do nearby. We will definitely look to book again.

Keepers cottage is a lovely place for an escape to the country.

The facilities are excellent and it is spotlessly clean. It is in an area we had not visited before and there are lots of enjoyable walks nearby. There are no pubs within walking distance for an evening meal so we cooked for ourselves using the well equipped kitchen. There are places to eat out a short drive away. I would highly recommend it if you want a base for a walking/cycling holiday.

We were very well looked after by the owners.

At the time we were due to take the property there were exceptional gales so we booked a day earlier direct with the owners so we could avoid travelling in the worst of the storm. Over that first weekend we experienced a 36 hour electricity failure affecting the whole area and the owners did all they could to support us with heat and food and candles for lighting. Over the week the weather could have been a lot better but the property could not be faulted and its owners went well beyond the call of duty to make us comfortable.

The owner is friendly and welcoming. We were allowed to roam freely with our dog on her land and woodland. Imagine owning your own woods.

Keepers Cottage is a great place to stay.

It is located on a non working farm and the hosts are very welcoming. The cottage is surrounded by lovely countryside with plenty of walks and attractions close by. This was our second stay and I’m sure we’ll be back as our pooch loves it as much as we do.

The location of the cottage is amazing if you are looking for peace and tranquility.

Here’s the thing: It’s the considerate details, those little nuggets you do that made our stay that extra special. Many places are ‘cold hearted’, there’s zero connection with the owners. However, because you made sure everything was comfortable - this made our vacation much more enjoyable than we anticipated. Congratulations on working so hard to provide a wonderful location, you both should be so proud. We never bother returning to previous UK locations, but this is a first for us because we’ll definitely return. Much love to you Amanda, Rick & family. See you again soon!

The location and outlook of the property was tranquil and relaxing.

We had a jolly nice break in this very well equipped holiday home and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

A cosy and comfortable cottage, which is well equipped.

Amanda made us very welcome on the day we arrived, and when the whole area experienced a power cut during the week, she offered to boil a kettle for us, so that we could make a hot drink. Fortunately the power came back on in time to cook dinner! A couple of days before our arrival she sent a list of local pubs and restaurants in case we wanted to book ahead, according to Covid regulations. An added bonus was the table tennis table in the barn, my husband and daughter thoroughly enjoyed playing a couple of games. Keepers Cottage is conveniently situated in close proximity to many places of interest, although because of the Covid situation it is best to book ahead if you wish to visit. Hopefully, we will be able to visit again some time in the future.

A really spacious, comfortable, well equipped barn conversion in a peaceful countryside location.

This beautiful well-equipped home served as a perfect base whilst we explored the surrounding areas.

The cottage was excellent.

Although it was attached to another holiday let it seemed completely private as each cottage had its own seating area away from the other. The owners of the cottage were extremely helpful and on hand for any enquiries but were not intrusive. Everything was provided and the cottage was spacious and comfortable with some great countryside views and pleasant walks for a really relaxing holiday.

Amanda made us feel very welcome and looked after us well.

We had booked our holiday before the threat of Coronovirus became very real but decided to carry on as cottage was isolated. Very to glad we did the holiday set us up ready for shutdown ...
