“On sweeping the floor having trailed in mud , I did notice a fair amount of dog hair was also collected in the sweepings .”

Whilst we were aware dogs were permitted at the property, we do not have one .Perhaps vacuuming in between guests would be more efficient at dealing with this. Also , the hot tub was noted to heat up more than once a day automatically . We did not use the appliance but were reluctant to interfere with the mechanism. Also , the hot tub was noted to heat up more than once a day automatically . We did not use the appliance but were reluctant to interfere with the mechanism. This caused a large waste of energy , and as the owners of the cottage mentioned in their note that they hoped to limit costs , it seems sensible to leave instructions as to how it may be switched on and off as required. Otherwise , the cottage contained all 2 people needed for a week's break and we were happy.

Thank you for the feedback, I assure you that our cottage is thoroughly cleaned in between guests, hoovered and mopped. Unfortunately the broom you used had dog hair on it from our previous guest, so I assume that is where most of the hair would of come from. We will purchase a new one. Obviously as we are a dog friendly property, there is no way of eradicating it completely, they may be a stray one flying around! so we advise it is best not to book if you have allergies. As for the hot tub, it is advertised in the booking details so we assume guests would kindly inform us if they didn't require the hot tub use and we would put the insulation cover on and turn the temperature down. The main cost of heating a hot tub is when someone turns it off and it has to reheat from cold. Keeping it at a nominal temperature is the best option. We do hope you enjoyed your stay otherwise. Many thanks. Property Owner
