“Yew Tree Cottage is the loveliest place we have ever stayed and we were truly sad to leave.”

It was clean and cosy and felt like a home away from home. The owners supplied a lovely welcome pack which included milk, bread and treats for the dogs so we did not have to worry about getting supplies on the day of arrival. We took our 3 dogs and they loved the garden. We would spend hours out there playing ball and enjoying the sun and the lovely views of the hills. It was large and very secure and even though it was next to a fairly busy road at rush hour times, you still felt like you ...

It was large and very secure and even though it was next to a fairly busy road at rush hour times, you still felt like you were in a quiet location. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of storage both upstairs and downstairs. There was a lovely porch to leave your shoes, dog collars and leads which was really handy. The kitchen was well equipped and the dishwasher and washing machine were easy to use. We did not use the jacuzzi bath but the shower was powerful and again was easy to use. The description when booking stated the WIFI was not good so before we went we downloaded movies onto our tablets/computers but we found we were able to stream movies and programs from Disney+, Netflix and SkyGo without buffering so we did not need the downloads after all. Yew Tree Cottage is in a great location with British Camp Iron Age Hill Fort and Black Hill within a couple of miles from the property. There are car parks for each walk (£6 for the day) and a nice pub to quench your thirst after the walk. The welcome brochure also mentioned a couple of "hidden gems", one of which was St Wulstans Local Nature Reserve which is a lovely walk. The owners of Yew Cottage had even mowed the grass verge at the side of the road so you could easily walk along it safely with your four legged friends. There is also The Marlbank Pub within a mile of the cottage which does wonderful Indian Food. The owners lived on site but were not intrusive at all. If we needed them they were there. We will definitely be returning to Yew Tree Cottage next year. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

The beautiful Worcestershire town of Malvern dates back to the Bronze Age and is situated on the eastern side of the dramatic Malvern Hills. An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Malvern Hills form a 9-mile range of ancient rock, which offers 100 miles of footpaths and bridleways with natural springs and long distance views in all directions. The town holds antiques fairs, WI country markets, farmers’ markets and many auctions throughout the year, as well as the Great Malvern Food Festival in June. Malvern has individual shops, cafes, galleries, restaurants, a luxurious spa and it’s own micro brewery. It is also just a short drive from the Three Counties Showground which hosts regular events most notably RHS Malvern (May), The Royal Three Counties Show (June) and the Malvern Autumn Show (September). The town is the home of the Morgan car which makes this area popular with motoring enthusiasts. The Malvern Theatre welcomes productions from the West End and the Royal Shakespeare Company. The more energetic can try many outdoor activities including high ropes, climbing and abseiling. Fishing and river cruises are available nearby and there are National Trust properties, gardens and vineyards to visit in the area.
