The Wainhouse

We loved our stay at The Wainhouse.

The house is beautiful, spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. Would happily stay here again.

Wonderful stay at The Wainhouse - it was spacious, quiet, and equipped with everything we needed for a self-catering holiday.

The jacuzzi was fantastic! The farm is also home to several friendly dogs, and we enjoyed being briefly adopted by them! Pip was especially welcoming and we enjoyed his company on our strolls through the farm. The area is full of great places to visit - we especially liked Ludlow and Berrington Hall. If you go walking, Clent Hill is an amazing place to visit!

The property was perfect for our needs (5 adults, 4 children, 1 dog).

It was spacious, clean and ideally situated for a quiet peaceful countryside break. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, made friends with the farmers dogs and made full use of the hot tub. The welcome pack was most appreciated. We would definitely stay here again.

The bedrooms and space were fine but the kitchen and limited equipment was not enough for the 8 of us let alone the 10 it is listed for.

The main surfaces were clean but there were cobwebs in bathrooms and ceilings and the cooker hood was filthy. Everything was the bare minimum, cleaning, towels, equipment, yet the dos and donts were enormous. This felt more about making money than the customer experience. It is a shame as it had so much potential.

Lovely well equipped property.

The owner was attentive to our requests (such as for a hairdryer, the use of bbq and to check hot tub function). Lovely spacious property for a family get together. Working farm was delightful and the dogs gorgeous. Hopefully the hot tub is up and running again... unfortunately we only got 2 out of 7 days use due to a leak. Lots of fun had in the 2 days though!

The Wainhouse is perfectly located on a working farm.

The accommodation was perfect for our musical escape, lots of space for all our instruments etc. We had not visited this part of the country before so did lots of exploring. Local villages, water gardens and cheese factory. Jane the owner was very welcoming and popped in from time to time to make sure all was good.

We stayed at the Wainhouse for a week as an extended family with 3 little ones.

The house was perfect for us, with enough bedrooms and space to keep everyone happy. The kitchen contained everything one could need, and the bathrooms were great. The kids loved the little playground and seeing all the animals on the farm every day - they still talk about the little lambs now. We made some short drives for day trips in the surrounding areas - plenty to explore for nature lovers, castle enthusiasts, pub goers etc. thanks for having us, we hope the remainder of lambing season has gone well.

This was a long family weekend to celebrate a special birthday with 3 generations and we all enjoyed our stay.

The big question 'would we stay again'? everybody answered YES. We had an amazing time, the Wain House was very well equipped, the hot tub was fantastic. Beautiful countryside, with the added bonus of being near a lovely little town (Tenbury Wells).

The owner welcomed us after we had settled in and asked if everything was OK or if we needed anything.

The accommodation was perfect for us as a large family group of 10. (We were 6 adults and 4 children). Well equipped and spotlessly clean. Hot tub was a delight, we all loved it. The children loved walking around the farm, under our supervision! The owner had a chat to them about the animals they kept and was very warm and welcoming. Thank you for your hospitality.

Fabulous property, lovely location very spacious and well set out.

Kitchen was well stocked with crockery, pans and appliances. Beds were very comfortable. We took a projector as there were 10 of us, and used laptop and firestick to do quizzes and watch sport and films and the wifi was spot on. Hot tub was a lovely addition. Colin and Jane were perfect and hosts, we had some lo good conversations about the farm and local area. The dogs came to visit and were friendly with our dog. Would highly recommend and look forward to returning.

We had a super chilled weekend in very pleasant surroundings.

The property owner was on hand to answer any of our questions. The accommodation itself was very comfortable. I would highly recommend for a large group who wish to have a chilled stay .

Extremely well furnished property with plenty of equipment in the kitchen to cook meals from scratch if desired.

Owners were very helpful and love the personal introduction on our arrival. Very peaceful setting but only 10 minute drive if you wanted human contact in the town. Children were fascinated with the farm machinery and what they were doing on the farm.

A lovely holiday cottage in a beautiful location.

We thoroughly enjoyed the use of the hot tub. We found the downstairs bedroom very useful for our parents with limited mobility. We hope to come back soon

Lovely big house perfect for our needs as there were 5 of us.

I think the only thing I would have preferred would be a cosier seating area. Maybe cushions? We are all quite small in height and the leather sofa was tricky for us as our legs were too short! So we used the other one!

The Wainhouse was lovely and clean with all facilities.

We had a lovely family holiday. The grandchildren loved the hot tub and the friendly dogs. It was lovely to hear the dawn chorus and the owl at night. I would highly recommend The Wainhouse for a relaxing break.

Would totally recommend anyone to stay here. Some of us are looking at booking to come back. Perfect stay in the quiet country side, loved the working farm next door and really enjoyed the visits from the farm dogs.

A perfect place for our family gathering, we had a fab time, the house is very well laid out with a large lounge/dining/ kitchen area ideal for us all to be together.

Colin, Jane and Dan, the farm owners, were so welcoming, we all had a special time getting involved with the lambing, one of our party even helped to deliver one !! The children had the best time, and the weather was excellent as a bonus.

The house was very spacious and comfortable for our group which was 7 middle aged friends.

The hot tub was amazing. We did have one dog who got quite a loud intimidating welcome from the farm dogs who are obviously roaming around the farm, but eventually they made friends. It would be handy if a welcoming pint of milk could be left as we arrived for 3 pm and our food delivery not till 5pm but it's nothing major to complain about as we had prosecco!! But thankyou for a lovely stay and providing such good weather. Oh yes. Sat nav worked perfectly and got us straight there.!

....spacious, clean and great for a family holiday. Really enjoyed the hot tub..... going from 1° to 39° was quite an experience! Farm dogs really friendly. Nearby Ludlow is a beautiful town.... castle & quaint buildings. 7 minutes drive is the Fountain Inn..... lovely big portions and nice environment (also does 2 course lunch specials for £12.95)

For the price, we thought some basics like oil, butter, milk eggs bread maybe small shampoo and conditioner could be provided.

However we may have packed salt and pepper by accident. No matches available and we ran out of kitchen roll. Carpet sweeper would have been useful. The play area was safe and just right for us and the working farm provided all we needed for a long weekend. {Walks, tractor watching, animal observation, question and answer, lovely weather for the time of year!}

Lovely house, the spaciousness of the communal area and the number of bathrooms/toilets available makes staying with a large group easy and comfortable.

The hot tub was a favourite, very well kept and a really good size. The garden is lovely. Would recommend for sure.

The accommodation was exceptionally clean and well equipped. The youngest member of our family loved the playground and the dogs were an added bonus to his fun. We would definitely like to make a return visit.

We had a great stay at The Wain house for our annual friends get together.

The house was spotless and the beds really comfy. The hot tub was great, loved seeing the stars at night and felt really private. Took a trip to the fountain inn on Saturday for lunch and the food was really nice, big portions and prices reasonable. Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends.

Wonderful weekend away to celebrate a birthday with all the family.

There were 7 adults and 1 Labrador. We slept downstairs, which made letting Bella out in the morning easy. There was a grassy area right outside the door. There was plenty of room and it was very comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped. We cooked every night. Big table to play board games and lots of space in the sitting room area for charades, etc. Hot water and heating were plentiful. Check-in and out was easy. All in all a very enjoyable stay. Nothing negative at all.

We had a really fantastic time at The Wainhouse, the house is perfect for large gatherings, plenty of room, everywhere was clean and well equipped.

The hot tub was spotless and enjoyed by the younger members of our group. We took a beautiful walk along the footpaths across fields and along the lanes. Thanks very much to Jane and Colin for letting the younger children have a look at the farm animals and generally allowing them to get a idea if what a working farm is like!

We were a large group of seven and had a wonderful weekend at the Wainhouse, which was spacious, clean and everything as described.

The hot tub was a real bonus and the kitchen had everything we needed. The cooker did seem a little slow, but that didn’t really affect anything, just plan ahead! We enjoyed being visited by the farm dogs, which were friendly and unobtrusive, and the setting is in the most beautiful countryside. Communication with the owner was excellent and we had a great visit.

The space really help us all to spend time together and enjoy eating in a group, chatting and sharing a glass of wine ( or two ) The girls enjoyed the hot tub and we all fell in love with the dogs they were just super cute and very friendly.

Tenbury Wells was a really interesting place to look around with lovely Spanish restaurant and great pubs. Lots of lovely countryside and interesting NT properties to explore. Good for cycling too as some lovely country lanes. We would love to return. Many thanks.

We had a wonderful week reconnecting as a family - the ground floor open plan space was perfect for this.

The host was discreet yet helpful and friendly when needed - even returning items I left behind. The free-roaming farm dogs were very well behaved and the children loved having them there. For our needs of 10 people with different meal requirements the single oven was perhaps limiting but we coped so not a big issue. As always the hot tub was a success and the host kept this clean. It was an amazing place, very spacious, clean, nice area.

The only thing what was little bit concerning is playground area, doesn't look too safe for the kids, requires upgrading. However, overall, everything was lovely and we enjoyed our stay a lot!

Excellent property, plenty of room for guests.

Outdoor space particularly , enhanced the stay for all. Friendly host beautiful setting would highly recommend to others. A few simple basics, such as salt pepper and oil would be very useful

Great property for a group, was super clean and tidy when we arrived.

Facilities in general were great, hot tub always at temperature and secluded. Only thing we struggled with was the oven- it heated up but was taking 45 minutes to cook pizzas that should've taken 10 minutes. Outside plug was perfect for electric cars. Overall a great stay and wouldn't hesitate to come back.

Shower in wetroom could probably do with up-grading (quite poor pressure of water) but that's my only slight "moan".

Other than that we had a lovely time in a very well maintained, spacious property. Thank you to the owners.

Had a fantastic stay.

Beautiful house, room for all the children to run around with space for the adults to relax. It is a fully working farm, not sure that was fully understood before we went but it was fantastic. We were allowed to go in to see the lambs and cattle. There was a small play area which was perfect for our children who were all 6 and under, including a trampoline.

The house was lovely. Even better than the pictures. The hot tub was the best one I have been in. We loved seeing the lambs. Only seen the owner when we arrived. Who was very nice and helpful. Fab time with my family

Great size with the 5 bedrooms.

Bonus that one was accessible. However, the furniture in this room needed a little more thought. I’d suggest swapping the dressing table from the upstairs room with the chest of drawers to allow a wheelchair user to sit closer and have a mirror they can see into rather than the current mirror which is positioned on the wall at about five and a half feet up! The hot tub was lovely but no view to sit and look at. You need to be aware how being a “working farm” impacts your stay. Farm vehicles starting to pass close by, from around 7am. The dogs are lovely and friendly but roam around the farm and we were woken a few mornings at 6am by them barking. Nit-picking I know, and can’t fault the cleanliness and the house itself, but as long as you are aware and happy with the early mornings, you’ll love this holiday.

House was lovely and clean - however beds were not terribly comfy.

Owner was lovely - however, would nip round to check hot tub on a daily basis (for an 3 night stay we personally did not think that was necessary) also the farm dogs would come into the garden all day. Which was ok for us as all the children have dogs but if you you are someone that is not keen to be around dogs - it would definitely impact your stay. Also the only outside area that is private is where the hot tub is. However, people that are staying at other properties walk through the garden - that from the pictures looks like it would belong to the wainhouse. Also swings and trampolines are across the farm driveway where tractors are coming in and out of multiple times a day. Overall we had a nice stay however these minor issues were a slight pain.

The cottage was absolutely magnificent, 10 bedrooms a large dining area and kitchen area, views were incredible and a hot tub which was the icing on the cake for our stay. This cottage was not too far for us, but it was the weekend well needed for us. But if this cottage was a lot further I would not hesitate to book. I would love to return to this cottage.

The hot tub was fabulous, the house was very well equipped, comfortable and warm. We are returning next year to stay in Wood cottage another property on the farm.

Spacious property.

Rooms light and airy. Everything you’d need regarding kitchen equipment. Plentiful hot water. Unfortunately beds were not very supportive for elder guests. Garden wasn’t really enclosed as owners dog could easily get into the garden and leave their ‘deposits’. On arrival we were asked if we had a crate for our dog (we did luckily, but not mentioned in the listing) something to mention for any pet owners looking to rent.

Nice spacious property with hot tub in great location for visiting Worcestershire and Herefordshire but cottage lacked a few simple things e.

g. only 5 dishwasher tablets for a group of 7 for a week, no local leaflets, books, magazines, info or children's games. This was said to be due to Covid but we have been in other properties that have returned them. Also trampoline only bouncy in very centre.

We had the most wonderful and special stay at The Wainhouse to celebrate our parents' joint 60th birthdays.

The property is beautiful and the open plan downstairs was perfect for our family to let all the grandchildren run/crawl around in. We were there during a heatwave and luckily took our own fans, as like with every building in the UK, it does get very warm in there in! Thank you for a brilliant weekend!

On the second day of our holiday the hot water stopped working.

We informed the owner on day 3 who called a plumber but unable to fix it. The owner provided us with heaters but hot water is an essential. This has tarnished what was a lovely property that had suited our needs, particularly with the downstairs bedroom and walk-in shower.

Jane was very welcoming and helpful when needed.

The kitchen was very well stocked and easy to use. The beds were extremely comfortable and it was good to have a wardrobe with plenty of hangers. It would be a good idea to have a non-slip surface in the downstairs bedroom's shower as our elderly friend found the floor very slippery when wet and thus dangerous - she managed by holding on to the plastic chair - which suggests this may be an on-going problem . .. I gave her the little mat from the upstairs bath - but then I found the bath very slippery and had to be very careful when getting out of it after a shower. The photo of the front garden was misleading - it is smaller than it looked. It was a lovely quiet place for a holiday and 3 of us enjoyed the walk up the hill to the viewing point - such beautiful views.

Excellent property which was exactly as described on the website.

The hosts were very helpful and friendly. Location ideal and would recommend visiting Ludlow castle for those staying. Plenty of pubs within a 5min drive, recommend The Fountain for afternoon lunch. We would have no hesitation in staying at the Wainhouse Cottage in the future.

We had a great time and had some lovely walks escorted by Pip who made sure we didn’t get lost.

We had a brilliant Bank Holiday weekend stay at The Wainhouse.

We were a family of 10 with 4 generations from age 2 - 86 and we all loved it. The house is amazing, very spacious, modern and clean, with plenty of seating and bathrooms. I'd never been in a hot tub before but loved it, everyone enjoyed the farm and local walks. Thank you to the hosts, who were great + lovely food at The Fountain

We loved our stay at the Wainhouse which we found clean and comfortable and spacious for 7 people.

It would have been good to have had some laundry liquid or tablets and more than x3 dishwasher tablets for a Mon-Fri stay. The hot tub was fabulous and seated all 7 of us comfortably. All in all an excellent house.

We had a wonderful time and the owners welcomed us to the farm and we really enjoyed watching the lambing, this was a real highlight for us.

We did think that the house was in need of a little updating as it lots of things felt very squeeky and loose (some toilets, floorboards and beds etc) as well as some shower areas having some mould. However the house was clean and the hot tub spotless - again one of our highlights. Given the distance from other places probably not somewhere we would return to - but if we were going in April again maybe so - just for the lambing!!

Fabulous weekend, beautiful, rural, farm and surroundings, the well equipped house suited our family very well.

The children loved the trampoline and playground equipment. We all enjoyed the hot tub and the gorgeous rural walks. The farm dogs and other animals provided extra special memories which will remain with us and helped to make it a very special time.

Really lovely cottage, everyone had such a great time and we made use of the fabulous hot tub.

Wi-Fi very slow and no signal but not a bad thing, meant we spent even more quality time together. Would recommend for a large group. Lovely to visit Tenbury Wells, Ludlow & Worcester.

We enjoyed the hot tub after days out and walks in the countryside straight from the barn. The barn itself was well equipped and very comfortable for a large group, and lovely to see the animals on the farm and resident dogs. A truly great place to escape to!

We had a lovely break at the Wainhouse for New Years.

The hosts were brilliant and it was such a lovely rural location. The space is perfect for a large group. Wifi wasn’t great but made us talk to each other instead! Great large hot tub! We had a few visits from the sneaky ginger cat haha! We would definitely recommend this cottage!

Lovely property, with great surroundings and a very comfortable and well stocked property for a large group.

It was, however, a challenge to cook a Christmas dinner for nine people with a single oven. However we would return aa we had a lovely relaxing holiday. Pip the dog was a brilliant tour guide for our daily walks and we are sorry for making him late for work haha. Thank you for your hospitality.

It's a perfect getaway for 10 people.

Super accommodation for the whole family.

Well equipped and spotlessly clean. Having a dining table to seat ten was great. Plenty of space, comfortable and also a lovely garden area. The children’s play area was a great bonus and there was a lovely walk up to the woods. The flowers, biscuits and wine were a nice extra.We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and it was great to see some of what goes on at the farm, children loved seeing the tractors. Owners very friendly and helpful, a really super place that enabled us to get together and have some quality time together.

Lovely place for a big group.

House was great to relax in when we weren't out in the local area. Everyone had a great time and no complaints, but watch out for the cat because it can be quite sneaky.

Could do to have curtains in the lounge, to be a little more private and cosy in the dark evenings and better WIFI

We had a wonderful holiday at the Wainhouse.

The location was beautiful, the hot tub was excellent and the little children loved the playground. It was also lovely to see the animals on the farm.

For the price we paid we expected far superior furnishings, linen, towels and equipment.

We stay away in holiday lets 5 - 6 times a year and have paid half the price for far superior furnishings/fittings. The location was as expected but we expected a nice view, not a fence. The owners were extremely pleasant and helpful but in the whole we thought it very poor value

It’s a lovely place to stay on a working farm, the owners are lovely cannot do enough to make your stay comfortable.

It’s too far to walk to the nearest pub which was fine for us, plenty to see and do in the local area. Loved the area and the place we are a family of 8, so the house was more than adequate fir us all. The hot tub was a lovely added bonus. We will definitely go back.
