Fabulous location and cottage.

Incredibly peaceful, surrounded by birdsong and woodland. Lovely comfortable cottage with separate boot room for our dog who really was in his happy place. We will definitely return.

Lovely accommodation, very clean, as described, lovely basket of goodies waiting for us, and the hot tub was heated for our arrival.

Fantastic dog walks from the front door and walked to the local pub. Would definitely recommend.

Within easy reach of lovely walks and Ludlow and Hereford, both of which offer a variety of independent retailers. The cottage was very comfortable, particularly the beds! All you could need for a self catering stay. The welcome hamper was excellent. If you are taking your dogs they are also well provided for. Would recommend for a peaceful retreat, a real home away from home.

Stable Cottage is set in an idyllic location.

Surrounded by fields, woods, wildlife and lots of options for walking. The cottage is very private and has its own garden. Well presented and very clean. Well equipped and comfortable. The boot room is useful if it has been raining and you need to dry off yourselves and soggy dogs. We loved our stay.

Lovely find in a stunning valley surrounded by countryside.

Really nice friendly hosts and well informed. It’s a great choice if you want away from it all !! Nearest town for supplies is about 6.5 miles through a few narrow lanes but it’s no trouble once you’ve adjusted to country life!! Had a great time, glad we went.

We had a wonderful stay in this lovely cosy cottage.

Very peaceful location that we found very relaxing. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. The beds were so comfortable and we slept extremely well. Lovely welcome hamper on arrival. The wood fired hot tub was amazing, we used it a couple of times. It was a lovely experience sitting in it and looking up at the stars. Some lovely walks through the woods right on the doorstep.Belinda and Mike were lovely people . We would definitely return in the future.

A perfect place in a beautiful rural setting, but within easy reach by car to lots of very beautiful towns and villages (independent shops, clean, no empty shops!

). We absolutely loved this cottage and will definitely come back, we also loved the whole area. We normally go to the Cotswolds, but chose this cottage because it had everything we needed and felt like a change. Boy were we pleased we did. In short Stable Cottage absolutely perfect, but importantly the surrounding area, towns and villages also fantastic too. Our whole party really enjoyed the break. The cottage is absolutely wonderful inside with everything we needed. We specifically needed a double bed and walk in shower down stairs, plus anther double bedroom with shower or bath. This was because we were travelling with very elderly parents. The hot tub, which is wood fired was brilliant and as it sits in a very sheltered and secluded area so even though there was a severe rain weather warning during that time and the temp dropped to around 16c it was still absolutely lovely to sit outside and go in the hot tub which we went in for several hours for 3 of our 4 days. The cottage had a really handy large boot room so all your clutter could happily sit out there. I also like to cook whilst away. The kitchen, although a little small (mainly available counter space), was very well fitted out with absolutely everything you could ever need (even a washing machine!) and the items were all of a high standard (ie no useless knives or can openers etc). Belinda and Mike were wonderful, lovely and helpful, always around if you needed anything, but not if you didn’t. Lots of walks from the cottage. We also visited Hereford Castle (needed to be in the summer months I think to get the splendour of the gardens- we went end Sept). Hereford – lovely worth a visit , ate at the Beefy Boys – very nice, Worcester, again lovely. Both towns vibrant, lots of independent shops (including modal shops for the husband) and very clean. We had a truly outstanding meal (tapas) at the Unwind Bar – definitely worth a visit. If you go on a Thursday and spend more than £40 on Tapas, you can get a bottle of wine at 50% off. We went for a red from Puglia at £29 per bottle (£14.50 with the discount) honestly one of the most beautiful reds I have ever tasted. So good we are going to import some in for ourselves.

Lovely cosy cottage, welcome hamper was a very nice touch, hot tub was great, unfortunately there was an infestation of wasps by the back door, inside, which meant that there were a lot buzzing around the cottage all the time.

Stable cottage is beautiful.

Hanley Mill is stunning. The whole place is a tonic from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The cottage is really well presented and has been equipped to a high standard. The welcome hamper was a real treat with beautiful home made produce. Our only complaint is that we didn’t book to stay longer! We would definitely like to return.

stable cottage was simply perfect, we have 3 dogs and the cottage layout and the outdoor space worked brilliantly.

Location is idyllic and everything you could need is available in the cottage. We have already booked a return trip for later this year.

The Cottage was beautiful and really comfortable.

The owners were lovely and left a lovely welcome box containing chocolates and goodies..The hot tub was Great and easy to use. The local pub was literally a five minute drive which was lovely and served great food.. We stayed 3 nights and wished we could of stayed longer.. We would definitely return.

The owners of this beautiful cottage really have thought of everything.

The cottage has everything you could want and is beautifully furnished and decorated and very cosy. The welcome pack with local produce is a really nice touch. The owners live nearby on the property couldnt have been more friendly and helpful. We really hope to go back as we enjoyed our stay so much . There are lots of lovely walks (spectacular woodland walk right from the cottage) and plenty of places to eat nearby - the Fox Inn just a few minutes up the road is a really nice proper local pub. Would thoroughly recommend a stay at Stable Cottage.

Lots to see and do in the surrounding area.If you want to use the wood fired hot tub it takes planning as it takes 3hours to heat and you have to maintain the fire so need to be at the property during the 3hours. Once heated, it is lovely, however a better cover over it would help keep any bugs and bits out,

Beautiful cottage and area. Had a lovely time there and the hot tub was an added bonus. It is an ideal place to go for a relaxing getaway. Brilliant place for walks with the dogs or on your own, stunning views. The cottage was so clean and a welcome basket when we arrived even a treat for the dogs. Homemade jam and apple juice and lots of other things in the Pantry at a very good price and tasted lovely. We will definitely be back and I will recommend your stunning cottage to friends and family xxxx

Not great having to pay for the wood to heat the hot tub.

We booked this cottage as it offered walks from the door - this wasn’t always the case as many were very overgrown, I appreciate this is not the owners responsibility but maybe it could be mentioned

An amazing place.

The cottage was everything and more that was in the information,We really enjoyed our few days there seeing all the animals and enjoying the wonderful walks.

The welcome basket was really good. The bee experience is worth taking up. The hosts made you feel very welcome and we will most certainly want to go back again.

We were blessed with good weather and enjoyed the got tub immensely. The host was very friendly and we took part in his bee keeping experience which was thoroughly enjoyed by all,would definitely return here.

Superb property sitting in a beautiful valley.

Lots of walks within the immediate area. Exceptionally dog friendly. The 'boot room' was excellent for sorting two legged and four legged 'muddy paws'. It was also a very cool bedroom for our pup. Lots of animals (chickens,sheep,horses) around too. Owners dog is very friendly. Somewhere you need to go if you really want to chill out and relax. You could spend a week just walking the grounds and watching the stars from the hot tub. The grounds are set up in the most beautiful english cottage garden style with the beehives (in the top field away from the houses), completing the English Cottage garden theme. The owners are very helpful but also very discreet. Whilst there are a couple of cottages and some fab 'glamping' tents, the set up is such that you feel you always have your own private space. The very yummy welcome 'crate' was a nice surprise too, (by both the human members and the dog). Six out of five stars!

Very calm and peaceful setting. It was great to have walks from the door as well as many interesting towns, villages, parks, and stately homes and castles to visit nearby. The owners are very welcoming, but not intrusive. We loved all the animal sculptures around the site - some were created by the owner having some fun with a chainsaw during the pandemic!

I would recommend this cottage and location for a quiet break away. However my only criticism was the internet was poor, continually dropping out, not an issue for most I'm sure but we needed it for business use. Otherwise perfect.

This was a perfect cottage in an idyllic location.

Everything was provided, and you could happily stay for a week without leaving once you got your food. Hosts were friendly and approachable, but gave us our space and only came to the cottage to change the water in the hot tub on the Monday. The hot tub is awesome, but does need you to keep an eye on the fire while heating, it gets overheated really quickly and you have to put cold water in! Although its so secluded, in a half hour drive you're in beautiful market towns. There's shops and pubs nearby (each pub competing to be the oldest in the area!). There's also a little shop literally next door to the cottage that sells eggs, apple juice, jams etc, along with the wood for the hot tub. I was genuinely upset to be leaving, it was so beautiful and peaceful I feel it restored me just by being there! We'll be back for definite. I feel like I'm writing advertising blurb, but it really is that good!

A lovely property in a beautiful area for walking.

Hosts are friendly and helpful (if needed) and the property is clean with all the bits you need. Set within lots of land for exploring, brilliant for dogs and some nice views too. Comfortable beds, handy boot room and open plan living space. Only downside for us was that the garden isn’t enclosed so with dogs there’s lots of leads going on and off. Wood fired hot tub so does take quite a while to heat and lots of buckets of wood so definitely not a ‘come back and jump straight in’ thing but a lovely end to a day of walking for sure. We enjoyed our stay and the dogs have a wonderful time, thank you so much for hosting us!

Beautiful cottage and amazing surroundings.

The owners are very friendly and welcoming. Definitely a spot that offers things locally to see and visit but equally you can loose yourself within the grounds quite happily. (Decent foot wear and clothing to reflect the weather essential) We were seeking a chilled out time together and this fulfilled the bill 100% For us the hot tub was a daily highlight which we enjoyed lighting and maintaining. Super place :-) love to return :-)

I had the most wonderful week at Stable Cottage.

The place is perfect, lots of nature, walks, scenery and wildlife on your doorstep. The cottage itself was better than any pictures or words, it felt warm and welcoming with so much heart put into all aspects, such as little picture perfect views from every room, the wood fired hot tub that was heated for my arrival, home made jam, detailed walking routes and write ups of where to visit or eat. This is a place where you feel the energy that says, just slow down and look around and take it all in. It had everything you need to be self sufficient for the week. Some lovely extras in a welcome basket were such a special touch. Belinda and Mike are very caring hosts who want you to relax and enjoy the space they’ve created. They’re always available should you need them. A special mention to Ola their lovely dog who likes to check in with you whenever she sees you, another lovely aspect to my week. Stable Cottage is somewhere I will revisit, it lifted my spirit and filled me with joy for the entire stay. I highly recommend staying there.

A fantastic cottage, in a stunning location with amazing hosts.

There was genuinely nothing we could have asked for that would have improved our trip. We don't often return to the same place more than once but we plan to return to Hanley Mill soon!

Facilities really good, lovely cottage and location was great.

Cottage was clean and well equipped and an amazing welcome basket was provided. I would advise that it is likely you need to drive to visit local pubs, a few are within walking distance but mostly closed in the day or not a suitable walk with dogs. Lots of walks are provided on laminated cards which is helpful! Plus a vast woodland on site which is lovely to explore. Really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back!

Great hosts and we had a brilliant interesting and relaxing week. Great variety of pubs and restaurants close by and some quaint villages. Bats over the hot tub not ideal but that is the countryside for you. Would definitely go again.

We've just come back from a fabulous week at Stable Cottage.

The cottage was lovely & there were lots of extra little touches like the welcome pack which also included treats for our dog. There were lovely walks straight from the house, one was down to a lovely stream and they had even given directions for all the walks available from there. Very useful when you don't know the area! It was so peaceful here, just a perfect break from everything. Lots of lovely places to visit nearby. We would definitely love to come back as we would love to see it at a different time of the year.

We can’t tell you enough how beautiful it is at Hanley Mill, they have honestly thought of every detail, it is a chance to totally relax and enjoy all the splendid nature around you, and the hot tub is just an added bonus!

! Total bliss... we will return again that’s for sure.

The views are stunning. And the little touches around the cottage make you feel so welcome. Took my 2 little dogs with me Aswell and it's a great area for walking the dogs. 100 percent will return. Hopefully in summer. Thank you again

We had a fantastic weekend in this gorgeous cosy cottage in a fabulous location.

They had thought of everything especially where dogs are concerned. The cottage is in lovely private grounds and next to some woods so you are straight into some lovely walks. The cottage is so well equipped with everything you could need for a relaxing, stress free break. We will definitely go back sometime!

The cottage is fabulous and set in the most wonderful surroudings, although did take us a while to find as the postcode doesn't take you to the proprety!

There are some lovely places around to eat and would definitely recommend a steak at The Peacock! The only one tiny negative is that there is not a pub within walking distance of the property like it lists, if you like a drink you have to drive to them all!...other than that I would recommend Stable Cottage to anyone who wants to relax in a wonderful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life... I certainly feel as if i've been on holiday!

A beautiful cottage in tranquil surroundings, a wonderful place to relax and escape from the world.

Belinda and Mike are Fantastic hosts. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you need, we were even left a jug of milk in the fridge along with tea and coffee to great us on our arrival, as well as a wonderful welcome basket, which was crammed with handmade and locally produced products such as fresh eggs, jams and apple juice produced on the estate. Lots of wonderful walks to explore the beautiful and superbly well-kept estate, a nature lovers delight. Peace - Quite and Compleat Relaxation

A truly magical place, wonderful walks with the dogs, the woods are breathtaking and just a few steps from the door.

Mike and Belinda are there if you need them. Lovely welcome basket with bread cake and fresh eggs from the rescued chickens. Our second visit and we loved every minute. Look forward to returning.

Booking for the first time through Sykes Cottages was super easy, from competitive pricing and ease of managing the payment and booking was brilliant.

The amount of correspondence received prior to travelling was perfect and really helpful. The photos of where we stayed were exact to what was online - which can be quite rare. Will defiantly be using to book our next adventure :)

Really lovely comfortable cottage, and the owners think of everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Just returned from a week away at Stable Cottage, set in such a peaceful and beautiful location, we booked this cottage to get away from our busy lives and it did not disappoint, from gazing at the stars over the trees tops from the hot tub to walking our dogs literally 10 steps from the doorstep into a well pathed woodland left then over the fields to the Tally Ho pub or right down passed a waterfall to a network of public footpaths, the cottage itself was clean, warm and furnished to a very high standard with everything you need, we enjoyed it that much we are hoping to return this October, Mike and Belinda were lovely and very accommodating if needed.

Lovely, relaxing place, lovely to have the welcome pack and the quirky wood fired hot tub.

We enjoyed reading the information about the animals and the guided walks. Great that dogs are welcome, though it could be improved by having an enclosed outside space: we had to tether our retired greyhound up when outside to stop her running off as she has no recall skills. The internet access is not as advertised, we didn't really get any access for our stay and had planned to complete a project when there but were not able to do so.

Brilliant cottage within a large area of woodland with lots of planned walks or you can walk anywhere on the large estate.

We loved spending the weekend there. Just what was needed to relax and chill. Would 100% recommend.

Outstanding cottage location and quality.

Spotlessly clean,loads of room .Excellent area with lots of walks close by and plenty of sights around for day trips.Good quality pubs close by,very dog friendly,would recommend the Rose and Crown outside Tenbury. The Fox just up the lane is also great.

This was a fantastic break, set in a very quiet and rural area, yet close enough to visit all the great sites Worcestershire and Shropshire have to offer.

The property was great and the wood fired hot tub a god send, used it every day. Some great walks around the estate which are vizsla loved... local pub is about 3 miles away, the Tally Ho! Takes approx 1 hr to walk if you use the road and about 50 minutes cross country. Would definitely return, although we are hoping to permanently move to the area next year!

The welcome basket went down a treat all local produce ,the area was so tranquil heaven on earth a perfect retreat . Ideal walks for our dog and the hot tub a real bonus. Would recommend stable cottage most highly. Only one draw back the garden is not enclosed so if you have a dog you cannot leave outside as they can escape . We arrived to a welcome hamper which included fresh eggs from the farm, The cottage was well equipped, cosy and very clean.

A great holiday cottage and lovely surroundings.

We went in the winter which was really nice, but in the summer it would be even nicer! Lots of walks to do around the area and we went to a lovely pub-restaurant called The Baiting House in a nearby village which we would recommend. The only thing we found a little annoying was the internet situation. The phone service is very poor in the area and you are only given 2gb of free wifi through 4G. Once this has run out you then have to purchase more which is a bit costly and runs out very quickly if several people using it. If you know you will need internet throughout your stay then just be prepared to spend a bit. The wood-burning hot tub was also a nice 'country' touch on a cold winter evening, however it was a bit of a pain having to keep putting more wood in it and it definitely took us more than 4 hours to heat up from cold. Other than these two minor details, the cottage itself is fantastic and has everything you need for a great week/weekend away! The hosts are lovely too and left us a nice hamper of homemade goodies as a welcome gift.

Advertised as having WiFi / Internet connection which, although correct the actual connectivity is limited and has intermittent availability.

This was advised by the owners during our stay and didn't affect our time at the cottage.

Top class,tastefully fitted out,character accommodation in a beautiful location.

Decor and amenities top class. Everything that you need for a self catering break. Location quiet , peaceful and beautiful. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The patio area with hot tub was a real suntrap , a lovely place to cook and eat an evening meal. We would highly recommend this property or the nearby mill cottage to anyone wanting a quiet break in beautiful location. Although we don' t have a dog, its was very pet friendly and lots of safe walks on site.
