“Firstly is the lack of Wi-Fi, the property is in a rural area, however, there is only a booster in the cottage from the main building.”

The owner herself did mention that another neighbour has improved his and I really feel that if you are renting your property there should be sufficient coverage. Secondly, to be told that there is only enough hot water for one bath in a 24 hour period again is not good enough. Yes the shower downstairs provides hot water but what is the point of having two bathrooms, which is what we requested if you can only use one. We were disappointed that the only hand soap in the downstairs bathroom was second hand and that the quality of the towels was extremely poor. We were supplied with one hand towel and one small bath towel which meant there were no extra towels for drying hands. In the end we went to Isacc's in Ledbury and purchasing our own. We were also not impressed with the fact that the glass ware and serving bowls etc, were plastic and there were only two sharp knives provided, again we purchased a couple of wine glasses. The kitchen itself is a good size, however, all the white goods are antiquated and could do with being replaced. One of our biggest concerns was the fact that with the owner living behind the property we felt we had no privacy, and felt we couldn't sit out in the garden without being disturbed. We were also requested to close the curtains on that side of the barn due to her tenant in the cottage next door. She came to the property every day on some errand or another, I know in the visitors book some people found her helpful but when you are in your nightwear and about to have breakfast a knock at the door with the dog and the cat in tow was one step too far. The curtains in both bedrooms of the barn do not fit the windows, they are made from a light cotton and shaped like a sail which means that the light streams in through the window around 5.00am. We also appreciated that we were staying in a barn but to be woken by bats flying around at 3.00 am doesn't help your rest. We actually ended up going to stay with friends to get a decent night's sleep. I appreciate that Sykes gives a 5 tick rating but I really feel you should go back to the property and look again! Would definitely not recommend.

The property

Whites Farm Barn is absolutely stunning and probably one of the best barn conversions we have seen.

Set deep within the countryside the property offers a real countryside experience and yet is within a convenient distance of one of the regions most delightful market towns - Ledbury.

Internally the barn is presented in a welcoming and attractive open plan style, with large open spaces displaying the oak beams and original 'cross windows'.

These period features mix beautifully with some contemporary touches such as underfloor heating.

There is also the added benefit of a ground floor bedroom and bathroom.

Externally the barn has an enclosed garden to the front and enjoys a lovely location situated down a quite lane within a little hamlet.

The Owner also informs us that you can now order Waitrose deliveries to your door.

This is an excellent choice for those who like quality, space and something a little historic.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Note: Wifi Internet available - but please be aware that this is a rural area, and the speed may not be what you are used to.

Note: No children under 3 years.

Note: Wifi is available, however due to the location of the property the connection is not always great.

If you have a special occasion or you would just like some delicious cakes brought to your door, then why not look at ordering various cakes from the owners Daughter.

LEDBURY

Hereford 15 miles.

The ancient market town of Ledbury (4 miles), dating back to 960 AD, nestles under the Malvern Hills east of Hereford, surrounded by unspoilt English countryside. Ledbury lies on the River Leadon and is famous for its numerous timbered buildings, including Ledbury Park, believed to be one the finest Black and White buildings in England, the 17th century Market House in the town centre and The Painted Room, home to 16th century frescoes. Many music, art and food and drink festivals can be enjoyed in the town and the surrounding area. From time to time music, art, poetry, food and drink festivals are held in the town. Nearby is Eastnor Castle, a fine example of a 19th century, mock-medieval castle, and numerous festivals are held in Eastnor Park. Close by is the historic city of Hereford with its 11th century cathedral, world famous Mappa Mundi and Chained Library. Malvern offers guests many lovely walks along the hills, a luxurious spa and for the car enthusiasts the Morgan Motor Company. Guests can also enjoy the local vineyards, travel along the Elgar Route, visit the Black and White villages and enjoy the many outdoor activities available in the Forest of Dean and beautiful Wye Valley. A great holiday destination at any time of year.
