“Positive… beautiful spot, lovely garden/ views… spacious kitchen, piping hot water, clean bedding… plenty of room.”
Negatives…Kitchen .. no scissors, broken blinds. Bedroom… no plug in basin, no handle on en-suite door, blinds don’t close fully, door jams.
Gardens… very unkempt… nettles, could not walk into any wooded area.
All seats were v old and dirty, rusty BBQ. Patio usually means somewhere to sit…. This was too small.
Barking dog over the fence.

The property didn’t meet expectations sadly AND I have NEVER been to a cottage where there is not a hint of welcome. Not a bottle of milk in fridge, bar of soap …NOTHING. It’s those little things that customers notice.
Beautiful place… looking dog eared and somewhat unloved.
Thank you for your feedback, but Woodlands Cottage is not at all unloved! We take great heart from the vast majority of our reviews, which radiate appreciation for the cottage both inside and out. Most people love it and many return. We will address those of the above criticisms that we think fair; we usually do leave milk and a home-made cake, but this can get overlooked on short two-night breaks such as yours. As for our garden, it's anything but unkempt. Perhaps you didn't read the notes encouraging you to roam freely well beyond your own enclosed (and we think very charming) cottage garden. If you had, you'd have found lots of lovely wooded areas, well-tended lawns, colourful flower beds and a beautiful walled orchard. Best wishes, Jane and Brian
