What guests are saying
Millpond Bothy was delightfully peaceful and very well appointed.
It is in a beautiful rural area, and we enjoyed the walk to the village pub, as well as walking along Markle Ridge: spectacular views. Ledbury is a delightful market town which we enjoyed, as well as Brockhampton, a beautiful National Trust Manor House with extensive grounds and orchards. We did find that the lighting in some parts of the house was rather gloomy, especially as there was no bedside light on one side. The lighting in the sitting room could have been brighter. Other than that, everything was absolutely great, including the friendly owners. We were not impressed at all by the service from Sykes: it would have been useful to know that the satnav directed us further along the lane, and that the sign Croose Farm, on the wall, was obliterated by overgrown hedge. But we did find it eventually. The day before arriving I tried to make contact with Sykes to ask to be put in contact with the owner, so that I could ask some practical questions. This was incredibly frustrating, and I only heard back from Sykes a day or two into the holiday. You are very quick to ask for feedback, but not to respond to questions.
Millpond Bothy is an excellent and serene base for drives to nearby villages (Woolhope), cultural venues (Canwood Gallery), farms, and towns (Ledbury, Malvern, and Hay-on-Wye).
Very comfortable accommodation and amazing grounds/setting, being part of a large property. Would definitely recommend for friends or couples.
