“The property was described as "quirky" and whilst I don't have a problem with that and a few aspects of it being a bit tired, I absolutely DO have a problem with it not being clean.”

.. The toilet upstairs had not been cleaned. There was residue of a faecal explosion from a previous occupant and skid marks in the pan. I did attempt to clean it straight away but I have never seen such a dirty, skanky toilet brush and I couldn't bring myself to use it. The toilet brush in the downstairs loo even more disgusting - when I lifted it out of the holder there were several pieces of excrement floating in water. I had to shop for supplies anyway (milk etc..) so a quick trip to B&M ...

The toilet brush in the downstairs loo even more disgusting - when I lifted it out of the holder there were several pieces of excrement floating in water. I had to shop for supplies anyway (milk etc..) so a quick trip to B&M for two replacement toilet brushes and cleaner so I could clean both toilets properly; I threw the old brushes away. The downstairs bathroom didn't appear to have been cleaned properly for some time. Lots of dust, dirt and pubes in the corners of the room and round the bottom of the sink. Oh, the joy of clearing up someone else's pubes! Moving on to the kitchen.... I took a pan out of the drawer only to discover dried food residue so it had to be washed before it could be used. No dishcloth provided so I had to buy some. The microwave had residual dried food on the inside (mainly the roof). I didn't bother cleaning it and didn't use it. The grill pan in the oven also needed a good clean. We mostly ate out! The ceiling light just inside the entrance didn't work. Such a shame because the location was ideal. Book this property at your peril!
