What guests are saying
This was a 4 generational holiday with many dogs so there was a lot to accommodate and to please.
The Barn offered a great space for us to be all together with areas to chill for the young and old alike. Our grandchildren loved meeting the various animals on the farm and Jane the owner was very kind in inviting them to meet the new arrivals. My mother at 91 appreciated the facilities of the en suite shower room and although we are a relaxed bunch of people and managed to overcome the restrictions of the remaining one bathroom it did require some planning. Which was something I had not thought through when making the booking I would agree with previous reviews that suggest some TLC might make a difference. Small things such as the under cabinet lighting falling down and several blinds throughout the property not working, these all contributed to a sense that a little refresh wouldn’t go amiss. All in all though we had a lovely time, the owners were very nice, the location was great for dog walking and the added bonus of an exceptional hot and sunny half term made for a smashing family get away.
Clean bed linen and towels.
Peaceful setting.clear directions to property. Comfortable seating for relaxation and sufficient table chairs ,cutlery and cooking equipment to accommodate all guests. Most bedrooms had a tv. None in common area. Lots of board games and books. Beds on the soft side. Adjacent to piggery . Rats clearly seen running around outside of property. Garden small with wooden table and chairs and BBQ. Not large enough for children to play in . One cooker and oven and fridge insufficient for number of guests. Fridge had no usual door racks to hold bottles. Upstairs 2 bedroom velux windows had no blind or curtaining. Could do with foam on low beams when accessing stairs to upper bedrooms. Extractor fans in bathroom,en suite and kitchen not working. Bathroom smelly. Wood pellet stove generates hot water and central heating. Unable to turn down or off central heating,so very hot when outside temperature warm. Door lock very tricky to close. Take own shower gel and shampoo. Would have appreciated CIF or equivalent to be able to clean sink and spray disinfectant for babies high chairs. All in all pleasant enough and probably worth what we paid., but with TLC it could be much nicer.
Friendly and approachable owners living nearby on the farm.
There were 10 of us using the accommodation and we all had plenty of space and were warm, which we weren't expecting as we could see it was open plan. However the log burner and wood pellet heating system are very effective. Very well resourced kitchen, loads of games and opportunity to relax - thank you!
