“This is the second time we've stayed here.”

The accommodation is very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The welcome basket is second to none! It's nice to have the outdoor seating area and to watch the chickens and rabbits go by, we even had blackbirds nesting in the honeysuckle! So, if you have a dog, they do need to be kept secure on a lead, but there's plenty of walking and exercise space around the village. Very conveniently located for Stroud, Tetbury and Gloucester, nice National Trust properties to visit and good pubs.

“This was our third visit to the Bay Tree Farm cottages this year, cause we love it so much!”

It’s like a home from home with everything you could think of already in place. However, if there is anything that you would like, just let the family know and they will lay it on for you! They arranged for birthday balloons, a banner and a cake for us, which was just fantastic!

“Nympy Cottage is very unusual; indeed, it is characterful.”

In some ways it is amusing, but some of its peculiarities - e.g. the complete absence of any sound insulation between the rooms - will not appeal to everyone. Also three points. - The fan in the windowless upstairs toilet does not work. - The cottage does not have a fridge/freezer as advertised. There is only a small fridge with a tiny freezer space with a broken door - so it was iced up. The separate freezer in the space common to all the cottages, was full. - There was no washing machine in the cottage, as advertised. The only washing machine is in a space shared by all the cottages.

“What a beautiful place to stay!”

The barn conversion was very thoughtful with the best use of the space to create a veritable home from home. The beds were very comfortable and clean. In fact the whole cottage was completely dust free. The only criticism was that the freezer box in the fridge was iced up which prevented us from storing the wonderful local ice-creams! Then we noticed that the shower tray was not supported fully, which allowed it to flex just enough for the sealant to open and leak under the toilet. In saying this, these are very minor niggles and we loved the place so much that we decided to book again, and are returning in three weeks time!

“Great location for all the Cotswolds.”

Well equipped clean and tidy. Owner was very responsive. Lovely chickens. EV charging was very simple to use. Type 2 charger. Cable needed. Paid for what you used via Monta app. Would definitely stay again. All round a great experience.

“Really lovely.”

We had to find somewhere for us and our dog while emergency buiding work was done on our house and felt really lucky to find Tympy Cottage and have it as our home from home for a couple of weeks. Perfect for us. Thankyou. Lovely setting Lovely barn conversion with los of old wood Dog friendly Washing machine and dryer Outside sitting area Beautiful

“A comfortable and well equipped cottage with very comfortable beds.”

It is well situated to explore the area around Stroud, Gloucester, Cirencester etc. The cottage is located in a secure yard, but the outside space is open and so dogs need to be secured. But there are lots of fields and walks in and from the village so it's a great location for furry friends too. Also a couple of nice National Trust properties in the area to visit as well as some lovely pubs and villages. Can highly recommend the Arts cafe in Uley and the cafe at Ruskin Mill in Nailsworth. We very much enjoyed our stay.

“A gem of a place and such an interesting history.”

The owner frequently around but never intrusive. A throw back in time was enjoyed here and wonderful opportunities for the artist at the venue and the wider area. A lovely tranquil holiday but not too far off the beaten track before accessing the local attractions of Old mansions and Gardens as well as Slimbridge and the Cotswold landscapes.

“A very good stay.”

Very convenient for visiting our son and family in Dursley. Warm and comfortable. Tv great for satellite live channels. I left a written note regarding some 'issues' on leaving the property. These issues were: 1.Upstairs washing basin mixer tap faulty. No hot water if lever moved over to left in one continuous movement. A slow movement to the left can, with care, result in hot water but not without shuddering pipes (waterhammer). 2.Couldn't get BBC iPlayer and Netflix etc to work though. 'Tv not connected to network' message 3.Upstairs bathroom light pull cord needs replacing with a new clean one. Existing one is dirty/unhygenic along whole of its lower half through repeated us over time.

“Loved the cottage.”

It was cosy & warm. Convenient for Cotswold visit. The down side was finding out that we had paid for a whole week when only having booked two nights. (Have got a text from Sykes that said :-the property is set at a fixed weekly rental, it would essentially cost the same to book 2nights as it would 3,4,5,6 or 7 nights. Don’t know what others think, but I would say that was unacceptable, Sincerely MargaretJones

“A beautiful cottage with a lovely rustic feel.”

Two adults, a teenager plus 2 medium-sized dogs, stayed there and felt completely comfortable and relaxed. Thank you for a relaxing stay which we could use as a place to meet our daughter who had recently moved into the area. Hoping to book again in the future.

“This cottage was amazing, the photos really do not reflect the quality of the place.”

We have been to many sykes cottages and this was one of the cleanest, well equipped and 'everything works' cottages we have stayed at. The beds were very comfortable, it has a lovely homely feel, is private despite being on a shared courtyard and is a brilliant location for sight seeing (Bath was a 50ish minute drive away) and walking. There is a pub literally 2 minutes walk away (never heard a sound from it though) and children are welcome there. The kids loved the cottage too and still talk about the chickens. We would love to go back.

“The location was beautiful.”

We found the building a bit noisy. It was not clear in the advert that there were chickens on site, we have a dog and if we had known about the chickens, we would have not booked the cottage.

The former mill town of Nailsworth lies in the beautiful wooded Stroud Valley with events and festivals announced by the local Town Crier. It offers numerous high quality shops, a delicatessen, two butchers, an award-winning organic cafe, restaurants, art and antique galleries and a farmers’ market. Close by are Badminton and Gatcombe Park, famous for their horse trials, the historic wool village of Painswick and High Grove in royal Tetbury.
