Great place to stay

Lovely cottage and the hosts were very accommodating.

A good price for this lovely little cottage.

There are a few issues with this property, the bed although comfy on each side there is a mountain in the middle where the zip is. The bedroom smelt really musty, we had to get fabric and air fresheners to get rid of the smell. The parking spaces are good but the ground on the right side is starting to crumble away and may need shoring up. Although it states dog friendly, when reading the welcome pack it does not feel very welcoming. I understand that people do not want dogs on furniture and beds but dogs that do not under other peoples rules. It states in the welcome pack that if any dog hair is found on the bedding you will be charged for new bedding. This is hard to prevent if your dog is used to sleeping in the bedroom with you even not being on the bed. We are lucky that our pooch (Great Dane), prefers his bed that we take with us. He did struggle with not going in the bedroom at bed time and we felt bad shutting the bedroom door to prevent him coming in. We felt that this would be the only way we could prevent dog hairs creeping into the room. It would have helped if there was a stair gate to put at the door so dogs do not get stressed. Apart from the above, this is a lovely cottage and well equipped. It is ideally situated to access main roads for visiting other places.

On arriving garden had lots of weeds and flowers had died.

Garden shared with Well cottage only sectioned of by a few plant pots. Gate need attention and windows and sills needed cleaning. Recycling bin full so no room for our recycling where we parked stones were coming away and could be a hazard. On entering the cottage it smelled musty and old. Bathroom in need of repair on wood work felt dark and cold. Heating difficult to regulate either to hot or to cold. When putting freezer blocks in small freezer my husband found frozen chicken in a bowl not sure if raw or cooked ? Shower attachment fell from wall and shower head feel on me while showering. Contacted owner on day before leaving who had left number in info but went to answer phone. On morning of leaving noticed they were bins out so asked bin man who said to put out recycling which I did but wasn't picked up. No info about where to put black bag so checked well cottage bin which was full and open. Contacted owner again on leaving who answered I said I'd left a message the day before he said it would have gone to someone else. Explained about shower head and recycling and he did thank me and said he would get handyman to sort. However I feel sykes cottages should check this property on a regular basis. I certainly would not recommend this property to anyone else.

We experienced problems with water pressure.

.when we turned on taps the noise was tremendous..and lasted almost length of shower..pressure needs to be sorted..plus more lights needed at this time of year..I have owned a Cotswold cottage so the charm of them is a bonus, but not in the winter when especially in the bedroom I used a torch to check floor space ! Courtesy light did not work properly,so again torch necessary to get to car..however bed was comfy, but bed linen left a lot to be desired, just a quick iron would have been beneficial! We were however grateful to have been left an extra duvet..as it was chilly..the ac units, we’re fine but , your feet froze whilst top half was toasty !l Lovely gesture of treats, blanket, etc for our third family member, she was delighted, especially as we were all on one level, and we could hear her snoring all night

Great pied-à-terre for a couple - we spent a week exploring, planning to move to the area for retirement in 2025.

Good: price, included energy, simple but sufficient cooking facilities. Very comfortable bed. To improve: the bedroom corner with the mirror is so dark, making it impossible for a lady to do hair and make-up. Easily solved with some white paint and a vanity light strip from Ikea. The pans and plates and cutlery had traces of food on them. We washed all we used thoroughly, before and after use, but did not wash items that we did not use. The shared parking space is problematic - the tenants of the other cottage need to be made aware of the arrangement. We came back to find a vehicle parked rather inconsiderately in the middle of the 2 bays. Many people would realise the need to park carefully to allow others to use the adjacent space, but clearly some need it explaining in simple terms.

Very comfortable cottage in a village with some lovely country walks for the dog and a good base for visiting the Cotswolds.

Westonbirt Arboretum only a few miles away. Bathroom could do with the refresh. Otherwise, everything you could need is provided. Easy off road parking. Enjoyed our welcoming sweet treats, thank you.

What a lovely place to stay.

It had everything we needed and we loved the personal touches in the decor.
