“We enjoyed a 3 night stay here and had an amazing time!”

Tiggywinkles is stunning and has everything a family needs and more. The photos really don’t do the place justice!! It is clear to see how much love Zoe puts in to ensure their guests are well looked after. We had a phone call the day before our arrival and regular updates throughout our stay right up to check out. Tiggywinkles is stunning and has everything a family needs and more. The photos really don’t do the place justice!! It is clear to see how much love Zoe puts in to ensure their guests are well looked after. We had a phone call the day before our arrival and regular updates throughout our stay right up to check out. The accommodation was exceptionally clean, facilities were of a high standard and everything matched throughout. The beds were comfortable and we all slept really well. I think it helped that we shop in the same place for our bedding, soft furnishing's and towels ☺️ Zoe has really thought of everything smart tv, tv’s in the bedrooms, WiFi, everything you need for dogs, outdoor seating, comfortable and stylish fixtures and fittings. It really does feel like a home from home. The milk, biscuits and dog treats on arrival were such a lovely and caring touch as after a 3 hour drive it was nice to unpack and have a coffee without having to go out and find a local shop. The site is stunning and everyone is really friendly. There is even a secure dog field you can hire within walking distance to give your dogs a good run and play it’s just over £10 for 50 minutes. We used this stay as a base site to visit Silverstone museum (47 minutes drive), The Farmers Dog (25 minute drive) and Diddly Squat farm shop (10 minute drive). We also visited The Chequers in Churchill (15 minute drive) for tea and would highly recommend as the food was stunning! We couldn’t have asked for a better location! Within 5 minutes driving from the caravan there is an M&S foodhall, Aldi and Sainsbury’s all in Chipping Norton. We would love to return for a longer visit next time to explore more as 3 nights really wasn’t enough!

Eloise you are an absolute diamond! What a review - you almost bought a tear to my eye! I'm so pleased that you had such an amazing time and obviously loved the lodge and thank you for noticing the quality furnishings, although my towels are not as fluffy as I would like anymore no matter how much fabric softener and tumble drying I do - very irritating. I'm so pleased you went to the Chequers too. It's mine and John's most favourite restaurant ever and the food/service/atmosphere is all amazing. The fact you can bring your pups too just makes it perfect. The last time we went, Jason Statham was at the next table - I ASSURED John that I really was dribbling over my delicious food - although I'm not sure he believed me, LOL! If you do come and visit Tiggywinkles again please ask me about other restaurants and fab places to visit, as I could literally reel off a list as long as your arm. Thank you so much for leaving the lodge so spick and span and I think you were the lovely lady who left me the beautiful pink roses, for which I can't thank you enough. “Had the most amazing week at Tiggy Winkles, definitely will be returning.”

Stepping inside you can see the care and love the owners have for the lodge everywhere was beautifully clean and comfortable. Welcome pack for us and our dog was a lovely touch and the guest info book was the best we have ever seen. All the bedding and towels are top quality to match the rest of the lodge. Zoe, the owner is so lovely and provided loads of info on where to visit. The site is immaculate and so quiet even at the weekend when it is busy Highly recommend a stay here.

Hi guys. I'm so sorry for my late reply to your absolutely amazing review but the holiday company has a bit of a techie issue with this portal, so I've been unable to respond until now. You were the loveliest couple, so I am so pleased that you all had fun and your pooch got walked to death (well, thankfully not quite)! My hubby John particularly appreciated your comments on the guest info book, as that was his 'handy work' and it took him hours and hours to do, but it's his fault for being so anal over absolutely everything - typical ex military man! You left the lodge so beautifully for me as well so it goes without saying that we would love to have you all back again, but fingers crossed it won't be quite as hot, as that really was ridiculous! The fact that the site is relatively small , is very quiet and always immaculately maintained was one of the reasons we chose to buy a lodge there, as some sites are massive with lots of noisy parties going on, which is definitely not our 'cup of tea'. “Tiggy Winkles was clean and tidy with everything you needed .”

The double bed was very comfortable with good quality bedding. Good showers and a nice decking with table and chairs. The only thing that we found a bit difficult were the steps leading up to the door as our dog is nearly 13 and found it a bit hard to get up so I often had to carry her. As the door opened outwards it was quite difficult. This was just a minor thing and we did have a lovely time.

I'm sorry you struggled with the 3 steep porch steps with your old doggie, and the outward opening front door is not ideal and is irritating for me too when I have to struggle with my huge bag of fresh bedding and towels, so I feel your pain! “We really enjoyed our stay at Tiggywinkles.”

The quality of the accommodation, how clean it is, the location and lovely personal touches all enhance the stay. All the utensils you need to cook a meal and another nice touch was the bag of ice in the freezer. The lodge is warm and has very good heating if needed and a combi boiler. The shower pressure is excellent and an even temperature. Zoe calls you the night before your stay to answer any questions you may have which is incredibly helpful. Some information/thoughts I have that may help others that I have not seen mentioned other reviews: For those using an EV there is a shell garage that has a 50kwh charger that is a few min drive from the site of a 15 min walk if you leave your car on charge there. We prefer faster chargers so would plan those on days out. For example off the M40 there is an Instavolt charger near McDonalds we used that on trips. The Wi-Fi in the property is fine and enables you to stream shows on Netflix etc. Be aware its a Three Mobile router and like all mobile routers and signal can be slower at times. In short this is the best lodge we have used at a fair price given the location to Chipping Norton.

I'm a really keen cook myself, so it sends me mad when you stay at a holiday rental that has one wooden spoon, a fish slice, a tiny frying pan and a couple of rubbish saucepans - I mean what culinary delight can you cook with that - grrr! Another one of my 'pet peevs' is when you get 4 hangers in a wardrobe, thus why we leave about 20 in each. Thanks for all your other really useful feedback about shower pressure, heating and EV chargers that I'm sure other potential future guests will find extremely useful - it's nice to have some practical advice and feedback. I'm always so happy when my guests get some amazing weather too, especially when they have dogs, so I feel sure you found some great walks for your pooch Millie. Thanks for stripping the beds and leaving the lodge so beautifully. The en-suite shower off the Master bedroom was absolutely pristine! So much so that I wonder if you and your partner actually knew it was there?! I really hope so. Anyway, thanks again for a wonderful review. Suffice to say I would welcome you back anytime. “Clean, comfortable & well equipped, nice & modern kitchen area & bathrooms.”

We had an issue when we arrived & contacted Zoe(owner). She wasn't happy & spent an hr + trying to sort the issue out. It did get sorted & we were able to relax & enjoy our stay. It was very cold & windy which led to noise from a new unit near to Tiggywinkles. Plastic was flapping continuously, very noisy. Obviously this is beyond Zoe's control !! Lovely area to stay with some lovely dog walks.

Hi Ian. Thanks for your honest feedback. I am so sorry for the problem you encountered due to the unconnected gas cylinder which caused an issue with the heating and hot water. I was most definitely 'not a happy bunny' about this, especially as I had called the company that very morning to remind them that it needed to be connected before your arrival to ensure the lodge was 'toasty' for you. I want to thank you and your guests for your patience whilst I rectified this and assure you that the company in question got a 'piece of my mind', as I hate it when things aren't perfect for my guests. “Tiggywinkles was such a little gem of a find for our stay.”

I received a lovely call the day before with lots of friendly information. The Lodge was easy to find, easy to park and a great location. We felt so welcomed and genuinely felt like a guest not just a booking with lovely welcome card and biscuits. The Lodge was immaculately clean, everything looked brand new and so many homely touches that just made the stay so cosy. They literally have everything you could need. The pictures do not do justice to how lovely this Lodge is, made a special birthday trip perfect. A fantastic welcome guide is also inside with so many ideas for lovely things to do in the area, we just wish we had more time.

“Over the years I have stayed in several properties for four people, and I think that although this may be the smallest one, it punches way above its weight.”

It was very well kept and most comfortable. I have stayed in larger properties which had no freezer facility, or no oven gloves, not even a tea towel. This property had everything we could possibly need. Every time I opened a cupboard or drawer I found something else which I hadn't expected, but would have been really useful if we had been staying for longer than a weekend. Tiggywinkles would be a perfect base for anyone who wanted to tour the surrounding countryside.

I must admit a lack of 'things and stuff' needed for a comfortable holiday used to be mine and John's 'grumble' when staying away from home, so we really did TRY to think of everything, from a motion sensitive night light, toothbrush/razor charging points, fans for the heat, hot water bottles for the cold, extra lighting for makeup mirrors, games for rainy days, snuggle blankets and of course a FULLY equipped kitchen. So it really is great when these bits and bobs are noticed and appreciated. The actual site was Immaculate and very quiet, we were contacted by the owner to say the Lodge was ready for us at 1pm another bonus. At the Lodge there was an information pack of things to do in the area this was very useful. We'll done all.

“Lovely lodge on a quiet site (although may be busier in peak season).”

The lodge lived up to expectations and had everything you would need, The beds were comfortable as were the sofas. Never used the washing machine but perhaps would have done if we had been there for the week. Would recommend to anyone who wanted to visit the area,

“Lovely property in beautiful countryside.”

The only things that could help other people are. There are no shaver or electric toothbrush sockets for charging and steps from caravan could have a white stripe on each step for people with sight problems like me. Property was spotlessly clean and Zoe the owner is always st end of phone. Really enjoyed our stay.

Hi Vanessa, We're so glad you, your guests and your doggie enjoyed the lodge and the local countryside - and you didn't even visit when it's at its best! I must admit it was only when you asked about the shaving points that I realised we didn't have any, so it is something I'll look into. We did actually have florescent strips on the outside steps, however due to the constant footfall they kept 'lifting' (no matter what industrial glue we used) which caused a potential trip hazard, so we had to remove them. “We loved Tiggywinkles as did our dog Darcy!”

The lodge was home from home, comfortable, well equipped and cosy. Loved the little treats left for us all which was a lovely touch. Great communication from Zoe before and throughout our stay and even though we had to cut pur stay short by a day due to myself and son being unwell, we had a wonderful time and will definitely look to return sometime soon. Great lodge, great location, in fact, everything was great and I can’t recommend it enough!

What a lovely lady you are for giving us 100/100 and saying such wonderful things about the place, especially seeing as you had no hot water for a few hours one morning, for which I am eternally sorry. Unfortunately, the central heating and the hot water run off the same cylinders and because the heating was on during the night it ran one of the cylinders out, but I was so pleased we got this rectified relatively quickly. To avoid this happening again we now have a 'Guests guide to heating and hot water' so that anyone can resolve the situation and avoid having a 'bad hair day' LOL! Really hope you come back to stay for longer next time as there is so much to see and do in the surrounding area. “We absolutely loved Tiggywinkles!”

The site is fabulous, beautiful views and very peaceful. The lodge is immaculate and has been furnished to a very high standard. The beds are the most comfortable beds we have ever stayed in whilst staying in holidays homes! Everything was just perfect for a break away. Welcome treats were generous and even our dog was catered for. The local area is great. We enjoyed trips to Burford and Stow On The Wold which were around 25 / 30 minutes away by car and Chipping Norton which is less than ten minutes by car. We will definitely stay here again.

We've only had it since February and we spent so much time, effort and energy making sure it had everything a guest could need for a really nice stay, so your comments really make it all seem worthwhile. We did invest in really good beds and mattresses which ARE on the firm side, but we think they are seriously comfortable too. If you do come back, you must visit Woodstock and Blenheim Palace as they are amazing, along with all the other places recommended in our Guest Information Pack (which took my partner John hours and hours to do)! Everything needed was provided including a very detailed information pack which was most helpful. The balcony faces an open field and as the site is quiet it was lovely sitting outside in the afternoon and evening. “The mobile home is only a few months old and in very good condition as were the furnishings which are of a high standard.”

It was fully equipped including all necessary cooking and eating implements. The mobile is sited on a caravan site but at the far end from the entrance on an area where only mobile homes and lodges are allowed. There is a good sized patio area with furniture and a gas bbq. The site was nice and quiet mainly with caravans many of which appeared to be on the site fairly permanently. “This mobile home is well-situated, well-presented and spotlessly clean.”

We found the furnishing/beds very comfortable. In summary - two adults and two dogs enjoyed our stay. The location is private at the edge of a caravan Park which was only partly occupied for our stay (April). There is a small Waitrose within walking distance - but you need to cross a busy road. Nearby Chipping Norton and eg Churchill are great for a visit and pub meal.

“We had a two night stay over Easter weekend, we got to arrive early with the heating already on for us thanks to Zoe who called us early.”

We arrived to a lovely hand written card and biscuits, which made us feel very comfortable. The entire lodge was immaculate and very well decorated. The motion light in the hallway was a lovely touch for checking my child in the night. Water pressure in the shower was good and the Wi-Fi helped us wind down in front of the tv with the fire on in the evening. We also visited the local crocodile zoo and wildlife park which we very much enjoyed.

“Had a call from the owner a few hours before check in to advise it had al been cleaned and was ready for check in at anytime.”

She even offered to put the heating on for us just before we arrived too. Once we arrived the place was just as described. A very modern and comfortable lodge with everything you would need. We were greeted by a welcome card which was hand written and a box of chocolate fingers too. There was even some dog treats , mat, bowl and towel all ready to use as well.
