The Threshing Barn

The house itself is in a good location and had enough space for us.

I would echo some of the points from the previous review that there are some little extras that would make the stay easier. There is no draining board so we were unable to hand wash anything. It would have been nice to have more mugs for tea. There was no cupboard space for food so it was left on the breakfast bar. The sofa has seen better days and was uncomfortable. There were several marks and stains on cushions around the house and there was a lot of dust and cobwebs, especially on the headboards. I also stood on a Lego piece in the double bedroom so not sure if it had been hoovered prior to our stay. The tumble dryer had an error and we had an issue with the showers where we couldn't get the mixer taps to work on two of them so they were scalding hot. When my husband called to report this, the operator was quite rude and would not deal with him as his name was not on the booking so I had to call back and speak to them. The issue was also not fully resolved (one shower was still faulty) so we didn't use that shower for the week. Overall we enjoyed our stay despite the minor issues.

The threshing barn is situated in a beautiful village, location is great for visiting the Cotswolds.

We stayed there as six adults, unfortunately I would say it is only Suitable for five adults at the most. The main bedroom on the first floor is lovely with everything you would need. The largest room on the second floor has plenty of space but the bathroom facilities let it down. The shower is fine but there are no shelves or shower caddy to put toiletries into. There could easily be a small shelf placed on the wall to put toothbrush etc. the cupboard underneath the sink is ok but not really good for too much storage. The smallest bedroom is only really suitable for one person and certainly not two adults as it is so small and the trundle bed adequate for a child only. The same issues exist in the bathroom here as well. It was nice to have the welcome pack with the juice, milk and biscuits/crisps here on arrival. We noted that there was nowhere to store dry groceries we had to empty a couple of drawers and a shelf in a cupboard to put these in. The large fridge freezer was perfect though and just the right size. We used the tumble dryer once but it kept displaying a fault. The garden had some nice furniture which we made use of. Very peaceful. The sitting room sofa I’m afraid has seen better days it was very uncomfortable and not nearly big enough for six adults. There was a separate chair which we made use of. The dining table was a lovely size , however one of the dining chairs had a broken wicker seat , covered with a cushion, all the rest were ok. There were only four place mats to use at the table so we improvised with a couple of the straw large mats left on the worktop. A slotted spoon would have been useful for our eggs in the morning. This was a minor issue, along with needing more smaller juice glasses and some larger mugs, three of them were very stained. Plenty of wine glasses though which was very handy for us! All in all the barn was clean and well kept. The fans in the bedrooms were very useful as we had a week with exceptionally hot temperatures. The communication from manor cottages was very good and my questions prior to our stay were dealt with .
