The Clealings

We are a group of 9 ladies wanting a few nights away together and we stumbled upon this property.

We all had such a lovely time during our stay. The kitchen had everything you needed, bedrooms were large and the beds were comfortable. Showers powerful too! The land the property is on is superb! Would be great for families with young children. They can be free but safe to run around the grounds. We loved seeing the little bunnies hopping around too! Games room was fun! The only faults with the property was lack of hanging space in the bedrooms and the amount of flies you get inside and outside. Although this is not in your control maybe consider some kind of fly repellers. Overall though we had the most brilliant few days and would definitely return and recommend to others.

The perfect cottage for a family get together.

Masses of space, indoors and out, for lounging, eating and games plus well located for days out. We enjoyed Witney, walking the Thames Path, the Cotswold Wildlife Park and Oxford. Would recommend this property.

Excellent accommodation with plenty of room for all 10 of us and a wide range of equipment to help with our babies and toddlers .

The surroundings were stunning too and was lovely to watch the sunrise from various vantage points . The children loved the swings and slide in the garden and we all enjoyed the games room .

Perfect for our holiday.

Booked for a local wedding. Grandchildren and my kids loved it. Very clean and well maintained. A credit to the owners. Just a note for the owners, NOT A COMPLAINT Couldn’t find a Tv remote in the fabulous games room. Which would have been great as I could get rid of all the kids longer

The house is very comfortable, spacious and clean.

Everything is provided for a relaxing stay. The outside space is huge and lovely countryside views. Seven of us had a great stay. Many places to visit nearby. Crocodiles of the World was especially notable! The only slight problem is the adjacent road which is busy so noisy in the day . However we had a wonderful long weekend. Thankyou to the helpful property owners.

Very spacious, clean, cosy and fits all 10 people comfortably. The clealings came equipped with everything you might might need and they added some really lovely touches such as the welcome pack they provided. I would highly recommend this accommodation to friends and family and I would love to visit again!

The property was extremely comfortable, spacious and well equipped.

and perfect for our extended family get together. The huge garden was especially appreciated by our grandchildren, and we all enjoyed using the well equipped kitchen. We also appreciated the welcome pack of essentials such as milk, coffee and bread etc. Just two positive suggestion - a separate/or divided wastebin in the kitchen would encourage and make recycling much easier. We kept having to go out with collections of packaging etc which wasn't convenient. Labelling the which are the dishwasher and laundry tablets more clearly would be helpful too. All in all we had a very good experience staying at the Clealings.

We had a lovely stay at The Clealings.

The property was beautifully presented, and ideal for our families to come together. The children particularly enjoyed the garden - with its play equipment and orchards. The beds were comfortable, and the additional features for children (such as stair gates, cots and a high chair) were really useful. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

The only negative about the property is that it is difficult to walk anywhere with children and dogs without going on dangerous roads.

I appreciate there's nothing you can do about this.

A wonderful holiday property that met all expectations and more.

The house is well furnished and equiped with everything we needed during our stay. The extensive garden was fantastic for the dogs and the toddler in our group. There is a very good amount of parking space. We had no problem parking three family cars with extra room for two other cars when other family members joined us on one of the days.The owners were very friendly helpful before our holiday arranging to move one or two things so our youngest family members could sleep safely. An excellent property in lovely grounds.

All facilities are provided. Kitchen was very special with top of the range appliances. There was only five of us. School friends who met 50 years ago meeting up for the weekend, but this property can accommodate many more. I would highly recommend staying here.

We love the Clealings!

It was our second time staying there with our 2 families (four young children) and the place is perfect. It felt comfortable, spacious and is well equipped. Outside is the amazing grassed area which is more like a field so there was plenty of space to kick a ball around and in addition a new play facility with swings and slide etc. The welcome pack was the most generous one we have ever had. None of us wanted to leave. Thank you so much.

Had a great week and felt quite at home straight away. Games room was an added bonus. For once a house with a decent kitchen with everything needed to cook, and with lots of cutlery ( and not just one each of everything like at other places). Thanks!

Lovely stay with our family of 10, property was excellent, plenty of space and well catered kitchen , with every utensil and appliance you could possibly need.

Grounds are amazing, especially the barbecue and games room. Location is lovely and quiet and perfect for a relaxing break.

Amazing house and perfect for our family stay.

We had a little issue with black flying bugs. Not sure if it’s infestation or coming in from the fields. Wouldn’t put us off staying again though. Bedroom & bathroom doors are impossible to open and close quietly meaning you can easily wake others. Overall the house was even better than the listing made it look. Games rooms was a perfect escape for the teenagers. We all had so much space yet still felt together.

We had a really lovely time at The Clealings, perfect for a party of 10 including small children.

We really appreciated having cots and highchairs provided, and lots of indoor space and huge amount of outdoor space for us all to enjoy. The property was very clean and the kitchen extremely well equipped. Games room and BBQ also great! Thank you.

We stayed here at the end of May / start of June2024 and the cottage and the surrounding garden (yes indeed it was huge) was wonderful for our family get-together.

There was ten of us including four grandchildren and with the space and separate games building there was lots of room for us to escape from one another when needed. The kitchen and the conservatory type dining room looking out over the large lawned garden was just wonderful. The beds were very comfortable and all the facilities were great. We had a couple of queries during our stay which were quickly answered by Elizabeth and Bella.

The property was very well equipped clean nice welcome pack on arrival.

Only issue was the key lock didn't work when we arrived as wrong number given. Also tv wasn't tuned to channels so we used iplayer. This was a couple of tiny things in a great stay.

We were wowed by The Clealings the moment we drove through the gates with the beautifully kept garden spreading out on either side of the property.

My two children, 6 and under, were thrilled to see a climbing by frame and with the gorgeous weather we had, they and the other children in our party spent so much time playing in the garden. The house was clean and today with a wealth of dvds and games in case of rainy days. All the rooms were lovely and spacious and the beds were comfy with lovely soft duvets. With so many people in our group having a main bathroom and a second separate toilet downstairs was very handy. The shower was lovely and powerful too. The kitchen was exceedingly well equipped with every utensil you could wish for and the coffee machine was an added bonus. The games room with the pool table was also great fun. Thank you to the owners of The Clealings for such a wonderful break.

This is the 5th year my family has stayed at Clealings for our Christmas weekend.

Due to work commitments we can never get together on Christmas day so our weekend at Clealings becomes our Christmas eve, Christmas day and Boxing day. Everything is always really clean, tidy and well stocked. I can't think of a negative thing to say about Clealings, all 9 of us look forward to our stay. The welcome pack is much appreciated. To find that Waitrose deliver was the icing on the cake

Comfortable with ample space for the 8 adults and 3 children of our party.

Well equipped kitchen and everything organised well. A very lovely home from home. And the game room kept the children occupied. Ideal positioned for visiting Blenheim and Oxford.

This property is lovely.

One of the nicest properties we have stayed in. The kitchen and appliances are lovely. Everything was so clean. The sofas need changing you sink and feel like you’re sitting on wood. Would be nice if there was a table tennis table in the games room. The downstairs bathroom door doesn’t lock properly. The late check in time of 6pm nearly put us off booking this cottage.

We had such a lovely stay.

This was actually our second visit. The house is so well set up for us. Really great to be able to bring the dogs. What a wonderful, clean and comfy house in a great setting. We loved having the field for bike riding and dog walking. Also the games room and play house with slide were a real hit - thank you!

The property had everything we could have needed and more. The house was clean, comfortable and had loads of space. The ‘garden’ was huge and great for the children to run around, the slide was a welcome addition too as well as the games room. The location was very good for visiting parts of the cotswolds and traveling into Oxford. We had a great holiday.

Clean linen, exceptionally well resourced kitchen, great views across the fields at breakfast followed by local walks and then into the pool room for the evening.

We all had a great time. The garden is more secure than the listing suggests (the bushes have grown significantly since the photos) as our dog didn’t even come close to finding a way out. We were there for my husband’s 65th birthday with a small group of family/friends and it was absolutely perfect. Thank you

It was our 2nd visit and we love the house and garden. It was a pity the weather wasn’t better so the children could take full advantage of the great outdoor space, and the barbecue looks fantastic.The beds are so comfortable, didn’t want to get up. The house was spotlessly clean. Thank you for making our stay so pleasurable.

Exceptionally clean and spacious, kitchen particularly well equipped. Welcome pack was very generous. Beds and pillows very comfortable. The children made full use of the grounds and enjoyed the playroom. One grumble is the 6pm check in - much later than most properties, and effectively loses a full day of holiday. Safety issue; the small step between kitchen and conservatory is almost invisible as 3 people found to their cost. Hazard warning tape is advised. As an old, arthritic lady, I found the sofas impossible to use. They are very low and slouchy. I hope you don't mind the feedback, it is intended to be helpful. We had a lovely break, thank you.

The property was fantastic and even better in reality than the expectations we had formed from the pictures online.

The kitchen was extremely well equipped with everything needed by a family of foodies and more. The welcome pack in particular with bread, butter, tea, coffee and jam was a lovely touch and quite unexpected. It would have been useful to have had a dish cloth or sponge and some dishwasher tablets. There were references to dishwasher tablets in the file about the property, but none that we could find. We were disappointed that none of the bathroom or toilet doors locked which caused a few embarrassing interruptions. Overall, it is a lovely property and we all enjoyed our stay very much and would happily go back in the future.

Just need to let you know that some of the radiators were not working fully even if turned on. Think there is a build up of sediment or they are faulty.

Lovely house with all the facilities we could have wished for.

The grandchildren loved the large garden, like having their own park, they said. Ideal location to explore the beautiful Cotswolds, and the many local hostelries. The Red Kites soaring overhead each morning were spectacular.

Absolutely stunning property with great location.

Having the welcome pack supplying the basic needs for breakfast was a god send. Very thoughtfully covered all needs. Spacious rooms that accommodated our large family. The pool room was a wonderful extra for down time. We definitely hope to rent again on our next trip.

The Clealings provided fantastic, quality accommodation for 3 generations of our family and had everything we needed with space to spare.

The location was peaceful with extensive external space that our grandchildren took great delight playing in. Very well equipped, including a Games Room and Pool table, Playhouse with Slide and a BBQ, all of which were fully utilized during our stay. One lasting memory was the fabulous view from the Conservatory window at mealtimes and watching Red Kites soaring in the sky above. We all hope to be able to return again soon and would have no hesitation in recommending a stay here!

The Clealings is a great property for a family together.

Home from home feel with everything that you need. Comfy beds, spacious living areas, games room and large gardens were our highlights. Absolutely spotlessly clean and lovely welcome pack on arrival, may benefit from leaving more cleaning products so we could keep it clean during our stay. Perfect location with plenty of places to visit within half an hour - over our weekend stay we visited Bibury, Burford, Witney Lake, The White Horse at Uffington and The Model Village at bourton-on-the-Water. We would definitely recommend.

The Clealings was a spacious, clean, well- equipped place to stay and catch up with family - the children loved the games room and the adults the relaxing view.

Outside space would be wonderful if visiting in warm weather, the log burner was perfect for winter. Great location for exploring the Cotswolds and we really appreciated the Xmas tree and trimmings. Great welcome pack, Thank you

What wonderful place for larger parties.

Plenty of room and well facilitated. The games room was an added extra with a football Table, Pool Table and radio tv. The large garden all around was lovely to wake up to in the morning. Very easy to get around with Whitney just up the road and Oxford including the Cotswolds all around. A lovely welcome pack with all sorts to get your teeth stuck into and a Christmas Card from the Cleaning team which was so nice thank you 5* don’t do this place justice but that’s the max allowed. The clealings is a great property for family get togethers.

It is spacious, very clean, warm, the games room is good, and the gardens if it hadn’t been raining are huge and well maintained. However, for somewhere that has no cotswolds character, and is a little worn, the sofas are quite tired etc. I do not find the pricing accurate, I know everywhere has price hikes and there is covid cleaning, but it’s pretty bad for a 6pm check in and 10am checkout, so less than 48 hours, to charge £1,295 in a property that would have been about £800 on an October weekend pre covid.

The Clealings is a beautiful property with extensive well manicured grounds so great if you have dogs.

Our dogs loved running around in the open space! The property was exceptionally clean with all mod cons. Bedrooms on the ground floor make them easily accessible for anyone with mobility issues. The games room was a welcome addition and we enjoyed a few games of pool. Trips out included Bletchley Park, Highclere Castle (about an hour each way). Closer is Oxford City, Aston Pottery and the town of Witney (lovely) - all well worth visiting. Remember to book any visitor attractions beforehand as Covid restrictions require it. Good pubs nearby - The Fleece at Witney and the pub that sits at the Tadpole Bridge site where you can watch the canal boats as you sip your chosen drink or eat a meal. We had a great time with some super memories to treasure.

The clealings was the perfect place for a long weekend away.

We stayed as a group of 6 friends, it was extremely clean on arrival and there was more than enough room for us all. It was a short trip into Oxford and supermarket only 5 mins away. You didn’t need to get into the car to go for a short walk in the country. The games room was great fun! We had a lovely weekend there, highly recommend!

The cottage was clean, modern and a great place to rest for a few days with the family.

We had a wonderful stay and it was a good base for us to then visit local attractions and to go on lovely walking trails.

Most importantly the cottage was sparkling!

Fiona (the owner) was amazing, we had visited Bletchley Park on the day we arrived and really wanted to watch The Imitation Game but hadn't bought the DVD. Within 5 minutes of asking Fiona whether there was Netflix a bag appeared on our doorstep with not only The Imitation Game but a large selection of brand new blockbuster videos which kept us entertained all week. There was plenty of wood and kindling for the log burner. All the appliances worked perfectly. The instructions given to rentee's were user friendly and sensible. The location was excellent and the directions to find the cottage also excellent. One of the highlights was watching the Red Kite's in the late afternoon swooping over the garden - I wouldn't be surprised if this was organised by Fiona too! All in all a wonderful week of peace, rest and no Covid anxiety.

This was a last minute booking for my birthday celebration and it was lovely.

Very clean, very private and the garden views are delightful. I would definitely book again in the future, the host was very helpful and only a text away. Marvellous

Ticked every single box and the group thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The owner was fantastic with communication and was super helpful with every question/request we had. 11/10 and will be recommending this to everyone i know.

There was a lot more than expected.

The home baked cakes were appreciated. There was so much that you could do. The games room was a bonus, also all the games to play and DVDs if you wanted to watch them. My grandchildren said can we all come back again, they throughly enjoyed it. It was a lovely way to celebrate my 70th birthday.

The Clealings is a lovely spacious holiday property with extensive garden and was perfect for our family to enjoy a week together.

Very well equipped and impressive on arrival. The yummy welcome pack was a most welcome surprise. The owner was in touch during our stay and was very helpful. Would certainly recommend to anyone looking for a break in this area.

Cottage was great.

Superb location, huge amounts of garden land for the children to run about in. Slide / swings that the kids loved too (although it was on the other side of the house to the patio / decking so there wasn't anywhere for adults to sit while supervising the kids - would be better for that equipment to be in the other side of the garden). House was well stocked with cooking equipment and entertainment, beds were comfy too.

We were delighted with The Clealings!

Mostly it met our expectations and indeed the size of the accommodation, the location and the additional benefit of a games room were just perfect for us. The house is superbly appointed and it was immaculately clean. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. Our only query is your headline bullet points where you say the house has three bathrooms; it has two bathrooms and a separate WC; in the event this didn’t inconvenience us.

This house was perfect: plenty of space, spotlessly clean, huge garden, pool room, fort for the children.

The owner was welcoming, helpful, prompt to answer queries and flexible. All in all it was a lovely place to spend a long weekend with our family and we would love to go back at some stage.

The welcome pack of goodies was a delightful surprise on our arrival, including a wonderful cake and flapjack which were were delicious.

We were a family of 6 adults, 2 children, a toddler and baby and there was so much space in the house and the children loved running about in the massive garden so much that when we went out on day trips they were very eager to return to the house. The details and pictures do not do the accommodation justice. The lounge is large and comfortable with another smaller library room off it, the kitchen is extremely well equipped to a very high standard, and the dining area very light and spacious. Furnishings throughout the house are very good quality and the beds and linen very comfortable, almost luxurious. The owner has thought of everything to make the holiday let better than a "home from home".

Wonderful cottage - so spacious, beautiful grounds and great games room and pool table The sofas in the living area - were not too comfortable to sit on though - you sink into the cushion and as it is deep going back, it can be tricky to pull yourself off (esp for elderly).

There was also only 1 frying pan in the kitchen that could be used on the hob - due to the type it was.

Three families, 11 people plus a dog, stayed at Clealings over Christmas 2018, for the second time.

Once again, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and found everything to our satisfaction. With five growing children we found that the space in the garden and the playroom were a boon. It is rare to have so much space outside in a rental property. We all agreed that we would like to stay at Clealings at some time in the future.

Cottage was excellent, seemed to be plenty of room for the 10 of us.

the fifth bedroom reached through the fourth was a bit awkward but we were advised of this beforehand and it didnt really inconvenience anyone.

Perfect in every way!

The cottage was immaculate and very well-equipped.

The layout really suited a large group and we didn't feel on top of each other at all. Very well sound-proofed, especially in protecting adults' sleep in from early morning interruption by small children. Having three toilets was great too. The land surrounding it was stunning. Even in waterlogged January it was brilliant to have such a vast garden to roam in. The separate TV room was great for the children too. The cottage was very warm and snug. The owner was quick to respond when we ran out of various things. Wifi too!

Cottage was clean and well equipped

The cottage was an excellent base for us to carry out a range of activities in/near/around the Cotswolds.

We explored Oxford and some colleges, hired a canal boat for a day and spent 6 lovely hours on the Oxford canal, visited Bletchley Park and also went for a hike on the Ridgeway to the Uffington White Horse. We ate out at a couple of nice restaurants in Witney but also cooked a few meals in the lovely kitchen. It had pretty much everything we needed and the the owner also left us some yummy cakes and treats - very kind!

The cottage was absolutely perfect for our needs.

The house and grounds were immaculate and had everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We didn't even need to venture out as there was plenty to keep us entertained and we were very lucky with the weather

The space was very generous inside the cottage and in the grounds.

The gardens were an excellent safe space for our children to play in. The added security of the double gate helped. The cottage itself was well equipped with everything we needed (including gas BBQ) and was decorated and furnished well.

The Clealings was lovely and the grounds were fantastic the children played for hours, it was clean comfortable very relaxing we all enjoyed the holiday, all the extras that were left for us was a lovely touch the best cottage we have stayed in.

Not only was everything perfect for a getaway but it was also fully equipped with extras.

Everyone had plenty to appreciate.

Very comfortable roomy house that was well equipped particularly in the kitchen.

We have typically stayed in two cottages per year for many years and this is probably the best so far.

The cottage was spacious, had modern fittings, styled to our taste and very well equipped. The fantastic welcome pack surpassed any expectations and the great games room got plenty of use (aside from the pool table the cottage had loads of games, books and dvds). It was a stunning property in a stunning location.

There wasn't anything the owner hadn't thought of. The cakes and welcome basket on arrival was a really thoughtful touch too!! We would definitely return and I know a number of us have already recommended the property to friends.
