Cotswold View

Cotswold view is absolutely stunning - light and airy and beautifully decorated and arranged.

The beds were really comfy - had a very good nights sleep. Only 2 little ‘niggles’ however- one was the front gates - on arrival i opened the gates as requested and hubby drove in - but as there was little room to turn round we had to reverse out next morning - hardly ideal on quite a busy road. The gates are also a bit fiddly and not easy to open and close in rainy/windy weather- it does say the owners intend to install automatic gates eventually so wont be a problem then. The other niggle was the Aga - the notes asked you not to mess with the settings but i have a feeling someone had as it took forever to heat up. We brought 3 ready meals and a garlic flatbread for our first evening but ended up cooking them one at a time in the microwave and the garlic bread in a frying pan on the hob - not ideal but it was either that or eat at midnight! After that we decided to eat out but a shame when the kitchen was so beautiful and well equipped. I can however recommend the cottage - gorgeous views and not far to go to explore the lovely Cotswold towns and villages.

Wow factor on entering ,beautiful clean ,everything you could wish for with added touches,loved the water colour paintings in the bedroom.

Lovely accomadation, with fantastic panoramic view.

One useful addition would be a rubber bath mat in the bath for when taking a shower. Lack of ventilation in the bedrooms during warm weather would be uncomfortable for some, also a summer duvet would help.

cottage. The views are stunning and lovely having the sheep next door as neighbours! The only thing we would say is that a small welcome pack, if only a carton of milk would be helpful when arriving, as there are no shops nearby. Would recommend.

The property was beautifully appointed, but didn't have a dressing table area where you could sit and apply make up in a mirror or dry your hair.

There were dressing tables in each room but the small room had no mirror above, and the larger room had no plug near the mirror. This could so easily be remedied and make for a much more comfortable experience. The gate was a real nuisance, my friend was unwell with a UTI and had to open the gate every time we went out or came in as I was driving, and it put us off going out more than once a day. I found the property to be unpleasantly hot, considering it was March. I had to open the french windows in the bedroom to cool it down and every morning and evening opened the french windows in the living area. The TV was a real bugbear for my friend as she is a widow and lives alone and the TV is her only companion. She couldn't get on with the apps and was very disappointed that she couldn't watch live TV especially as she was unwell during our stay and just wanted the TV on. I use apps so was familiar with it and wasn't so bothered, but she felt let down by the TV and said she wouldn't visit again as a result. The water was very cold and took a long time to come through, which was unpleasant when we were in the showers. On our last evening the water went off and on our final morning we were unable to wash, have a hot drink, wash up, or even flush the toilets, which was very unpleasant.

Cotswold View is an absolutely beautiful place to stay .

The cottage was extremely spacious and furnished to a high standard . A lot of thought and effort has gone into making this property a home from home . We had a wonderful short stay . Thank you !

Wonderfully comfortable accommodation.

Handily located. Spotlessly clean. We loved it.

Stunning place, overall very comfortable and clean, great patio area for watching the sunset and if a clear night the blanket of stars above is jaw dropping, AGA needs a bit of forward thought but is a great addition as is the log burner.

Some nice pubs nearby, Fox in Leafield for Sunday lunch.. amazing. Only issues and to be fair they are only minor are stuffiness of the bedroom at night, because of the patio door rather than a window can't really have any ventilation. Would be nice to have a small welcome pack of a pint of milk and some pods for the coffee machine tea bags etc, just to get guests started. Ideally need to reverse into the parking from the road as a bit tricky to turn around if you drive in and obviously a bit sketchy reversing out on to the main road. Thanks again to our hosts and sorry we didn't get to bump into you, we really enjoyed our stay.

A lovely stay in a generous sized property.

Very clean and fantastic views. Well stocked with everything you need. Small drawbacks: Aga difficult to use and kept place far too hot. Winter duvets all year round. Having read reviews I brought my own and that was fine. Very small washbasin in second bedroom. No cushions for outside chairs/loungers (2 small things that didn't fit anything) No form of dishcloth No washing machine tablets That said we would definitely recommend it. NB. Need to drive to eateries as roads narrow, no pavements or lighting.

We recently stayed at this beautifully decorated cottage and had a truly lovely time.

The interiors are charming and thoughtfully designed, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that really enhances the traditional cottage vibe. One of the standout features is the stunning view – we enjoyed some absolutely breathtaking sunsets with a glass of wine. The kitchen is equipped very well and has everything you need! The AGA certainly adds to the authentic country feel of the property. However, we personally would have preferred a standard oven, as the AGA did make the kitchen quite hot at times - but that said, this is very much down to personal preference and didn't take away from the overall experience. We slept very well each night due to the peaceful surroundings. Overall, a really lovely place to unwind, with plenty of charm and incredible views. We’d happily return!

Could do with more kitchen knives (carving, bread etc) and scissors.

Location for access to the Cotswolds area just perfect if you have a car.

10 min drive to Burford, 20 min drive to Chipping Norton, a few minutes to villages with lovely pubs and eateries. We covered from Winchcombe to Blenheim and everything in between, over 3 days. Parking for 3 cars on private driveway, behind locked gates (we'd hired Morgans for the special weekend, so this was fantastic, especially with parking a premium in the area). House just stunning and beautifully dressed in subtle, soft furnishings of Voyage Decoration fabric. Very relaxing ambience, comfortable beds, forceful showers, fully stocked kitchen and welcome packs of milk and washing up/dishwasher tabs etc. a nice touch. Minor housekeeping details - new bulb and missing bottle opener - were left for the cleaners. Sure these will be dealt with since absolutely everything else has been thought of. Separate utility would make it easy if travelling with children and for a longer duration. Lots of floor space and seating in the double height lounge area. Jaw-dropping sunsets and views from the front garden, across the area towards the Under-Wychwoods. But take care not to alarm the rare horse+rider passing by on the bridleway - you're not quite as isolated as my naked, towny friend imagined, as she threw back the bedroom curtains early one morning ;)

Nice property reported that there was only 1 fork .

then told about a secret draw where the forks woul be but still no forks there. Went on interactive talk and reported it again and was told an agent would be in touch but no contact made. I would have thought as the owners lived next door they would have made contact and dropped off some forks

It is a beautiful cottage in a lovely setting.

However we were there on the hottest week of the year so far. There are no windows in the bedrooms we can could leave open at night. I understand why you may not want the velux windows opened as people may forget to close them when not there and in case it rains. (We couldn’t find a pole to open them) However it was extremely hot. Together with the aga the property was extremely hot a couple of free standing fans would be good. Also the duvets were a winter 13.5 tog. We have stayed in other places where a lower rated tog duvet are also provided for preference. The aga umm not sure about that a simple normal oven would have been preferred but I’m sure some people like it. We didn’t use it. Also the hob a bit too modern. Some of the pans provided would not work on the hob. The hob tells you if a pan is incorrect. My personal opinion is that the aga and fancy hob were expenses the owner did not need to make. There are many lovely range type ovens they could have used that would fit in with the country cottage feel. But is was still a stunning property in a stunning location, and Ruby the dog is just adorable.

would very much benefit from a chest of drawers in both bedrooms and a good set of garden furniture including an umbrella in case of sun.! otherwise a very pleasant holiday location

This is the second time we stayed at Cotswold View and it was a really enjoyable stay in a good location to get to other places in the Cotswolds.

The house itself is lovely, very clean and spacious. To note you would need to drive to get to local shops etc. Nothing is really walkable. If you're going in the summer, the place does get very hot because of the Aga oven which is on 24/7 but the bedrooms are cool if you open the French doors in the evening before bed. Some feedback for the owners if this is helpful: Previously we stayed in the winter. Having stayed in the summer, it would be helpful to have some sort of blinds on the Velux windows in the main bedroom as it was light in the room from 4am so I struggled to sleep. Great to have the addition of the shutters on the windows for privacy and sunlight. For summer months it'd be useful to have some cushions to add to the garden furniture. Thank you

The property was beautiful, fabulous views and well equipped.

We had a really comfortable and happy stay in this lovely location. The only problem we encountered was an error with the dishwasher but this was addressed within 24hours of contacting the support phone number. We would definitely return in the future.

The cottage, decor and facilities were superb.

All furnishing, bedding etc were top quality. The ambience is relaxing and tranquil. Exceptionally well equipped kitchen including an Aga. Cotswold View is well named with fabulous sunset views each evening, We loved every moment of our stay, our only tiny bugbear was the lack of dining table and chairs. There is plenty of space for a dining set by the French doors which would give views over the countryside while dining. only a couple of tiny furniture movements needed, moving one sofa and coffee table a little toward the other. This would not only give space for a dining area but allow occupants of both sofas to rest drinks on the coffee table. A small thing but to us and many others a lovely dining space would make the cottage 100% perfect. It’s such a pity to have access to the fabulous kitchen which is a cooks dream, enabling delicious meals to be prepared and then have to perch at a breakfast bar or eat from the coffee table. Returning to the positive the cottage is perfectly placed to visit so many of the Cotswold’s gorgeous villages and locations. We plan to book again as soon as we can.

A lovely barn conversion with splendid views over the Cotswold, hence the name.

Large open plan kitchen and lounge area suitable for all ages. Only small gripe is that the bedrooms could do with a chest of drawers. Location is great for visiting Blenheim Palace and the lovely Cotswold villages. Would definitely return in the future.

Lovely holiday home which was even nicer than the photos with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.

In a good location for exploring the Cotswolds and excellent train links to Oxford and London for trips further afield. Plenty of nearby pubs for meals out - we liked The Swan in Ascott-under-Wychood. Bright, spacious, peaceful, relaxing accommodation which made our holiday so enjoyable.

We had a wonderful holiday.

Our daughter and son in law and little granddaughter Effie. Wonderful accommodation and the most gorgeous little Ruby (Irish terrier pup) who visited us most days when she heard us in the garden. I seriously wanted to bring her home! The only slight negative and this is my personal preference would be to have had a summer duvet in the main bedroom, as it got very warm at night with the thick one and no windows to open. Other than that everything was perfect! Thank you

In smaller bedroom only hanging facilities were hooks over door not suitable for trousers, shirts etc In en-suite glass shelf over small basin made teeth cleaning a challenge!

Hook on that door would have been handy. A light to read by in the evening in lounge would have been good. Superb location. Well equipped kitchen.

We stayed here for a weekend break, absolutely beautiful property with all the facilities you could wish for, beautifully decorated and very comfortable, views stunning and centrally based to visit local villages.

Beautifully decorated and absolutely spotless. We would totally recommend to anyone considering a stay in this area. This was by far the nicest property of this size we found. Very thoughtful in terms of everything you need for a very comfortable stay. Great location to access many gorgeous places to visit too. This is more personal preference, but blinds over the skylights might be nice. It was very bright at 5am and on holiday be nice to lie in :) The aga didn’t seem very hot .. although we aren’t used to using one, so may be more designed for v slow cooking. Overall we had a great stay - thank you!

Cotswold view was one of the nicest places we have stayed.

Our young daughter loved crawling around the place and made a friend with the pheasant in the garden. We very much enjoyed our stay and will plan to visit in the future.

Property was ideal for us.

It was comfortable and cleanliness was of a high standard. We were lucky with the weather which allowed us to sit outside in the evening and enjoy the magnificent views. A good relaxing break.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely property we will definitely be returning.

The only thing we would have preferred is some blinds at the windows, but saying that it’s a fantastic property situated in an ideal destination.

A beautiful barn conversion with the view to die for.

Lots of care and consideration have been put into the house to make the guests' stay as comfortable as possible. Nice touch of the welcome pack of milk, biscuits and fresh eggs from the farm, which are all gratefully received. Things might not have got around to fit into the property are a wardrobe for hanging up the clothes and a blind/curtain in the cloakroom for privacy. Owners Fiona and Andy are very nice and friendly, quickly resolved the small hiccup of the dish washer and give us some information about the local area. The location is ideal to explore the surrounding areas: Bourton on the water, Bibury, Burford etc. A lovely stay overall, would definitely come back next time visiting the area.
