Ellies Cottage was home from home.

Every thing you can think of for a stress free break was there. Down side was parking my car,don’t get me wrong, plenty of room to park but washing off the bird poo every morning was a bit of a chore. Location for nearby pubs,cafes and restaurants perfect, but a bit of a struggle for my wife going uphill. Definitely recommend.

Ellie's cottage is one of our favorites.

The location is perfect and the added extra of an off road car parking space is great. Cleanliness is second to none. If i could change just one thing it would be to have oversized blinds in the bedrooms so that the morning light does not appear in your room from 5am ( I do love a lie in on holiday). We love this cottage and will be back.

A great place for walking into Burford and a central location for exploring the beautiful countryside and surrounding villages.

Lovely house in great location but difficult parking.

The toaster was unusable as it tripped the fuses and was dusgstingly dirty. The dishwasher did nor work from day one. The lights in the kitchen/living room were like Blackpool illuminations. The bedrooms were fine but the low ceiling took a lot to get used to.

I was brought up in Fulbrook, so staying on the hill was an interesting experience as I walked up and down it to school for many years.

The cottage was clean, comfortable, spacious, and beautifully furnished. I can certainly recommend it, but we did have to ask a neighbour where to find the garden and the bins!

This was the ideal accommodation.

We loved the cottage! Firstly - fabulous location. Just a few feet off the main street in busy Burford. Minutes to pubs, shops, eateries. No traffic sound at all. The cottage is very spacious, clean and has everything you need. The one tiny issue we had was the Carbon Monoxide monitor kept beeping the first night. I changed the batteries but it was broken. The owners reported this to the management team who hopefully have replaced it now. We would without a doubt stay here again. Lovely place.

No instructions on how to put on the heating difficult to manage oil central heating using a Rayburn ,thermostat wasn’t working .

Lack of storage to put dry food shopping . Clean and good quality furnishings . Nice touches coffee pods provided for coffee machine .Very good location centre of town yet no traffic noise and parking .

Great location and facilities with parking.

We really enjoyed our stay. Great bedroom sizes and open plan ground floor. Slight downside which didnt affect our stay was the peeling paintwork in the bathroom. Clearly caused by people not opening the window whilst showering. We have already recommended to friends and family. We will look to book again.

Clean and as advertised.

Lovely place to stay and close to lots of interesting areas. It was lovely with two bedrooms. The roof is low but there is warnings of this. Very happy with our stay.

Great location and really nicely appointed property. Cosy and lovely homely touches,with lots of interesting decor and features. The cottage was very comfortable and clean. It’s a well- equipped cottage, spotless and comfortable. The cottage’s location is perfect for all the town’s facilities. Close to the centre of Burford with the added bonus of a parking space, andt there is no disturbance from the sometimes busy main road. Plenty of nearby attractions for young children and lots of choice on the doorstep for eating out. Will definitely recommend to family and friends.

The property was in a great location in the town, importantly it had parking, the bedrooms were a good size and had a well laid out ground floor area.

It was also in a great starting position to visit other parts of the Cotswolds. For our dog there was a large recreation field only a couple of hundred yards walk.

I contacted you after my first night regarding the cleanliness of the cottage , you did attempt to contact me by phone , which I had on divert , so I then sent you pictures of the issues I was not happy with and you failed to reply, despite me sending a few emails asking your opinion on the pictures.

Poor customer service in my opinion

Really nice property in a great location on Burford High Street, the house is comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed for our stay.

Would have like an oven glove in the cottage.

Lovely cottage

Wonderful place to stay.

Central location in the Cotswolds. Kitchen is huge. And unlike many rentals, the pots and pans are top quality. Kitchen has everything you need.

Wonderful stay in a beautiful, stylish, comfortable home away from home.

Loved the elegant stylish decor throughout as well as the ideal central location but once inside we could not hear the traffic outside. The little garden was a bonus as well as all the staples included in the kitchen. We would have appreciated more instructions re the TV as we were not familiar with the model but my husband worked it out. Definitely will come back again! Still loads to see.

Well situated and appointed cottage.

Not particularly clean, especially the bathroom. Big problem with ants in the kitchen. Have been charged (without my knowledge) for damage to some bedding though it was an item that neither of us can ever recall having seen in the property. No response by Sykes Cottages staff to my queries about this charge.

Ellie’s cottage was a great base for a between Christmas & NY break.

Great location and cosy cottage.

A lovely property in the the centre of Burford, shops and cafes a moment away.

Beautifully furnished, exceptionally clean, tastefully decorated and well equipped. Dogs welcomed, throws and accessories, thank you. We ate at The Inn for All Seasons on the A40 (close to Burford) great food, very friendly service and dog friendly.

Lovely cottage which is in an ideal location for exploring Burford and the surrounding Cotswolds.

Cottage is very comfortable and well equipped, even with dog beds, toys, bowls and sofa throws. Lots of places to shop and eat along the high street. Most of the pubs were dog friendly. Instruction's were not very clear which garden belonged to the house and if I found the right one had no gate. Neighbours were very friendly. Overall it is a excellent cottage and would definitely return again.

This is a lovely, clean and very well equipped cottage in an ideal location in Burford We felt really comfortable here, the decor and standard of fixtures and fittings is very high The low beams might be an issue for some - I bashed my head once!

Although you are well warned

Overall a clean and well equipped cottage in a good location, close to pubs and shops and a good base for exploring the wider Cotswolds.

I’m not sure if the owners were aware but , the cottage that adjoins at the rear is being renovated. For five days of our stay there we’re tradesman between 8am and as late as 7pm on one day. They had set up a tent due to the weather directly in front of the kitchen window and were using power tools constantly- not there fault but, had we known in advance we would have changed the booking date. The garden description needs more clarification. It not clear that the garden does not adjoin the cottage. The small plot does not have a gate ? Not so useful if you have a dog. Also one of the other (I’m assuming) full time residents seemed most put out that we were staying and needed to walk to the ‘garden’ with our dog.

We stayed in Ellie’s cottage for three nights (20/07/2023 - 23/07/2023).

I don’t leave many reviews but this time I definitely had to. Ellie’s cottage was spotless, kitchen was so well equipped . Beds are very comfortable.The whole cottage was cozy. Shops and pubs are walking distance down the road. We will be staying her again.

We really liked this house.

It is furnished and equipped to a very high standard.

It may be our mistake but we thought the garden was attached, which was important for the dog!

Although there is a superb park just up the road. Otherwise it was superb with everything we needed in a well equipped house! Burford is a great hub to explore the Cotswolds, with a lovely High street and a array of different shops. Thank you for allowing us to stay
