“This is a lovely cottage in a very pretty village in the Cotswolds.”

From the photos I didn't realise there were quite so many close neighbours but it didnt matter in the end. The house itself is really well looked after and clean throughout. It's smaller than it looks but still adequate for up to 6 people to share. I was travelling with my adult, learning disabled son and two carers so needed one room to be split into a twin which wasnt done before our arrival so we managed to do that ourselves as linen was available thankfully. The downstairs bedroom is the one we had to split but as a twin It's pretty tight spacewise but manageable. Also the downstairs shower is really small which was a bit of a problem for my son, but again, we managed. Anyway the lounge is where this cottage really falls down. I had seen remarks about the seating in previous reviews but didnt realise just how uncomfortable the seating would be. There is a large sofa with a 90° angle which does seat several people but it's too deep to sit back on and the back is very low. One of our carers and my son both banged their heads on the windowsill when sitting down. It's impossible to get comfortable at all and at the end of a busy day with lots of walking you really need a sofa that you can sit well on and relax. This one is truly awful. There is another ?2 seater chair/sofa which is even worse. It's a shame because this really lets the cottage down and it's been noted more than once. WiFi is free and good. TV is ok but a fiddle to work out and find "normal" tele. If you want apps its good for that. We didn't try the fire as it wasn't cold enough but it looks lovely. The views are lovely and rural from this room and its light and airy. The kitchen is well equipped and has a lovely table and chairs with plenty of space for meals. Three dishwasher tabs for three nights would be good not just two. Nit picking? Maybe but its a small irritation given the price of rental. A tumble dryer would be helpful as there is a hot tub outside but nowhere to dry towels and swimmers unless the weather is good enough for outside and there is no washing line available. The hot tub itself was ready to go but the water was cloudy and smelled really chemically. We didnt have a lot of time so only used it twice for 2 of us. The bedrooms upstairs are where this cottage really stands out. The master is beautiful with lovely views over the garden and totally private. Apart.frim the owls its reallybquiet and peaceful too. The bed is amazing and soooo comfy. I'm always too hot so the little window right behind the bed head was fabulous for me! Could you consider changing the blind to one without a clacky winder on it as it clatters about when it's windy and woke me up. That apart, I slept really well. The ensuite with this room is lovely with a massive walk in shower. The second room is really nice too. My son never did get up the spiral staircase but that was a mixed blessing. We could have done with being able to use the big shower for him, but we didnt have to worry about him "investigating"our stuff for once bless him. As an older person with dodgy knees I wouldn't book a spiral again but that's a lesson learned for me and I did know about it so can't complain. We did put a chair underneath it in the lounge as it's a bump your head hazard if you dont duck. There are lots of positives about this cottage but the lounge seating really lets it down.
