“Super cosy, comfortable cottage.”

Surprisingly spacious. Very well equipped kitchen, lovely lounge and great super comfy super king-size bed. Bathroom lots of storage and charging point for toothbrush welcome. Missed my power shower, electric shower adequate however. Quality towels, bedding ect. Location excellent, between well stocked shop and pub serving great beer and a Chinese takeaway (excellent) on site. Super friendly locals. Parking excellent. Would we stay here again?? Certainly would.

“A delightful cottage - perfect for a relaxing break in this friendly village of Tysoe and a good base for exploring the lovely places nearby.”

It was spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and really comfortable. The hosts were so helpful and provided so many thoughtful touches for us and our little dog. Parking right outside the cottage was easy but there is also a parking space at the back of the cottage. The kitchen and dining area is really light and airy and the lounge has a stunning fireplace which would be really cosy in the colder months. Would definitely recommend.

“Lovely cottage, very clean and good standards throughout.”

In a good location for nice walks and visiting surrounding areas. Took our dog, she also enjoyed and made herself at home, people in the village are very friendly and also dog friendly. We all enjoyed our stay in Treacle Cottage.

“An absolutely beautiful Cottage, very clean and comfortable.”

From parking to walking in the back door we were very happy with our choice. Downstairs cloakroom also a bonus, Tysoe was a fantastic base for getting out and about, we went to Stratford-upon-Avon, Bletchley Park, Warwick Castle, Bourton on the Water, nothing was to far away. We loved hearing the Church clock chiming and didn't think the road was noisy as previously reported, we had a fantastic holiday

The property was clean and comfortable and our host was friendly and helpful. Tysoe is a perfect base for exploring the Cotswolds, we visited many beauty spots which were within 30-40 minutes drive. All in all we were very happy with our choice and would definitely return.

“Amazing cottage; clean, comfortable and equipped with everything you could need.”

Delightful location in a very friendly village. Quiet relaxation with lots of attractions within a short drive. The only thing that could be improved would be a radio in the kitchen/diner. We would highly recommend this terrific property to anyone bringing a dog as there are lots of beautiful walks all around. We will definitely return.

“A lovely cottage in every way.”

Nothing skimped on, goodies left for us to enjoy etc. Nice and warm, easy wood burner. Great local shop just 20 m down the road. Very helpful advice from the owners. We loved our stay. An extra egg cup so there are 2 would be good + one brighter light for reading in the evening in the lounge.. but small things!

“This was our 2nd stay at Treacle Cottage and can’t wait to stay again.”

The Cottage is so clean and comfortable and done to a very high standard. It is situated in a lovely quiet village with a friendly pub next door and a great shop a few doors down. While we were there we went to Stratford, Chipping Norton, Bourton-on-the-Water, Witney and had a meal at The Farmers Dog highly recommended if you can get in.

“Treacle Cottage is a spotlessly clean and comfortable cottage close to lots of interesting places to visit.”

We particularly enjoyed Bletchley Park, Batsford Arboretum, Birdland and the steam railway at Broadway. But there are lots more! Doug was a great host - helpful but not intrusive. Tysoe is a beautiful, picturesque village with friendly locals. A highlight for us was having breakfast outside with the only sounds being birdsong and the church bells chiming - bliss. We would definitely return to Treacle Cottage if we were in the area again. It’s a gem!

“Lovely return to Treacle Cottage after our first visit 3 years ago.”

The cottage still retains its charm and beautiful interior, everything you need in the accommodation is catered for. The village is still spotlessly clean and the locals are so friendly, the pub next door serves a lovely Chinese takeaway and it has a large beer garden. Great base for exploring the Cotswolds. Would highly recommend the cottage and village for a 5 star holiday with your pooch.

Extremely comfortable, very well equipped and absolutely spotlessly clean. Great facilities nearby include a pub with friendly locals and a well stocked deli/shop. Doug the owner popped in to answer any questions we had and to highlight local attractions to visit nearby. The welcome items of tea/coffee/biscuits etc were very much appreciated after a long journey. Our little dog loved the local walks too. We would highly recommend a stay at Treacle Cottage.

“The cottage was sparkling and clean on our arrival and it was a lovely touch to have milk, biscuits for us and for the dog and tea and coffee available as soon as we walked in the door.”

Doug was very kind in letting us know the day before that we could have arrived earlier than the 3pm check in time. The wood burning fire (and included starter pack) was wonderful. We found the area perfect for everything we wanted to see and do in the Cotswolds and the pub was very welcoming. The village shop had everything we could have needed and we also enjoyed an occasional coffee and our final breakfast in the little tea room in the village.

“Wonderful cottage everything you need for a lovely holiday.”

Parking place at the back was a bonus and to have a secure back garden for our dog. Tea, coffee ,biscuits left for us on arrival dog treats, bowls and towel left for our dog . The owner Douglas met us on arrival and gave us useful information regarding the village which was very helpful.

“Whilst the weather broke records for rain and flooding, Treacle cottage was the saving of our holiday, it was immaculate and attention to detail would have done the military proud.”

I would recommend this cottage to anyone. The owner was very welcoming and nothing was too much. Thank you. We did get a couple of nice days and managed to visit a number of locations nearby, it is a very beautiful part of the UK and we have lots of lovely memories, The village has a well stocked store is literally next door. An enjoyable holiday.

We have stayed at other properties in the area on previous occasions, but picked Treacle Cottage this time as we now have a dog and they pride themselves on being dog friendly. The property was beautifully decorated and very clean and tidy. We found everything we needed and were very impressed with the welcome pack, which also included some dog treats - what a lovely touch! The village is beautiful and we made good use of the shop and the pub - including the Chinese takeaway that operates out of the pub. We would deifinitely recommend Treacle Cottage to anyone looking for a countryside break in a beautilful village and hope to visit again ourselves.

“Perfect cottage in a beautiful friendly village that rightly deserves its 5 star rating.”

Very clean and comfortable with everything you could possibly need for relaxing week in the Cotswolds. Lovely to hear church bells on Sunday morning. Our dog enjoyed the many countryside walks without the need to take the car out. The local shop was well stocked and the pub was friendly and had a good range of beers and Chinese takeaway. The owners welcomed us to the cottage when we arrived and supplied lots of welcomed treats for both us and our dog and provided a comprehensive folder of recommended local pubs and restaurants.

Very comfortable and everything you need for a relaxing break. If you want to eat in the kitchen is well equipped and with a pub next door and a village shop a few doors down you have every option to do as much or as little as you want. The bed and en-suite were both great and comfortable and having the downstairs loo was a bonus too. Lovely spacious kitchen and cosy lounge. Doug and Nicki made sure we had all the information we needed and were both very friendly. The village is very special but we enjoyed walking to the windmill one evening and went to Stratford and many of the Cotswold villages. Safari park was good and so well looked after. We also loved Shipston on Stour , a lovely village with the bonus of free parking. Lots of good information at the cottage too. We would definitely love to visit again. Thank you Doug and Nicki.

The space downstairs works really well, and upstairs it’s perfect with a huge super-king bed. The information provided on local walls, places to see, do and eat was excellent. We had very thing we needed to make our stay a relaxing break, which was just what we needed.

“Great little cottage in Middle Tysoe.”

The cottage was really comfortable with everything you could need. The weather was really hot when we were there and appreciated the fan which we used at night, and it was great to chill in the garden after a day out exploring. First time in The Cotswolds and this was a good location for exploring the area. Well stocked shop in the village, the pub, whilst not doing food, had a great beer garden and friendly locals. On Fridays there's a burger night at the Happy Herefords farm just down the street which is well worth a visit. The owner was most helpful and provided some good recommendations for villages to visit. Highly recommend this property.

“Lovely cottage in an ideal location for walks with our Westie.”

Well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, cooker, washing machine, kettle and cafetiere. There was a well-stocked shop 30 yards away and a pub 50 yards away. Our hosts had thought of everything to make us feel welcome, tea, coffee, delicious biscuits and even dog bowls and treats! I would highly recommend!

“A lovely cottage in a beautiful village.”

The owners have thought of everything you could need and were always contactable should we have needed anything. Great to have a ‘Smart’ TV so could keep up with Netflix, Amazon Prime etc when the weather wasn’t so good! Can’t beat a log burner in the cold weather either! Ideal location to visit places in both the Cotswolds and Warwickshire. Fully recommended and hopefully we’ll return!

Highly recommend going to the Friday night burger night in the barn at the end of Back Lane behind the cottage. Ideal location to visit Stratford on Avon, Banbury and the Cotswolds. Very dog friendly area. Just check any National Trust places pre your visit though.

“What a lovely cottage, tastefully decorated right through with a quaint inglenook fireplace.”

Spacious kitchen with all you need to cater for yourself. The bedroom and shower room en-suite was very comfortable. We had a little patio/garden area which was ideal with having our dog with us. Parking to the rear of the property was perfect, as it felt safer knowing we could keep our car off the main road. I would have no hesitation on booking again for this lovely cottage. The owners were very friendly and had left us some provisions, milk, orange juice, tea, coffee, biscuits etc to start our week off which was a nice touch. We would highly recommend a stay, you won’t be disappointed!

“Well, what can I add to what other reviews say!”

Beautiful cottage that is even better than the photos show, very friendly people in the village, Doug and Nicki (the owners) got everything spot on with their cottage, 10 out of 10 for everything- I would give it 11 out of 10 if there were a small TV in the beautiful bedroom, but that perhaps being a little too picky. Lovely village pub next door selling Chinese food (highly recommend). Surrounding area is so beautiful, a village field where we could let our little Poochon dog run around and meet new friends. Days out to Stratford-Upon-Avon, Oxford, Evesham, Tewkesbury and other little villages around Tysoe which meant we had a fantastic stay at Treacle Cottage. Thank you Doug and Nicki.

Treacle Cottage was spotlessly clean. Doug and Nicky are friendly and helpful and take care to provide everything needed for a comfortable stay. There was fresh milk, coffee, tea and juice in the kitchen when we arrived. Tysoe is a perfect base for exploring the local area and further afield. There’s plenty of tourist information in the cottage plus maps of local walks. The village store is well stocked and also sells good wine! We had a great time and would love to stay here again. TYSOE

Banbury 10.2 miles; Stratford-upon-Avon 13.6 miles.

Resting within the district of Stratford-on-Avon is the civil parish of Tysoe. This civil parish is made up of three settlements which includes, Upper Tysoe, Middle Tysoe and Lower Tysoe. Within the pretty village you will find a village Post Office, a shop, a pub and a small number of businesses. There is also a beautiful parish church of St Mary which dates back the 11th century and a number of properties which date back to the 17th century. The parish lies on the edge of the Cotswolds, where you will find breath-taking landscapes and a number of lively market towns and historic trials. A little further away is the medieval market town of Stratford-upon-Avon, where you will find further quality amenities and attractions including Shakespeare's Birthplace, Anne Hathaway's Cottage and the tropical greenhouse of butterflies. Tysoe is a pretty base for exploring this part of Warwickshire.
