The Stables

Beautiful little house, has everything you need home from home, comfortable beds, hot tub was a great bonus, ni e little gift on arrival.

The only down side we felt it was not very private over looked and the location was far from many attractions to keep driving everywhere to explore or doing things with the kids.

Ideal for short stay.

Good location. Well presented with good kitchen facilities.

We had a lovely stay in the stables, unfortunately our dog passed before the trip but he would have loved it.

The cleanest dog friendly place we have stayed and a great base for the cotswolds. Would definately recommend.

Had a lovely weekend stay at The Stables, a very comfortable, clean cottage, it has everything you need including an air fryer and a slow cooker although we didn’t use as were only there for a weekend but I believe every holiday home should have both of these so well done, Hot tub was lovely as was the wood burner.

Very friendly hosts I left my phone charger there and they sent it back to me very quickly Thanks for that, look forward to returning again one day

The Stables was nice and tidy with a welcome pack when we arrived.

Although the post code is generic and led us to the middle of the village not a mile out where the farm is, this also happened to the couple staying next door as well. That aside it's well situated for local touristy visits, and eateries. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay, nice hot tub too. The hosts quickly sorted a heating problem out for us with no real intrusion. Personally I would have liked a slightly more powerful shower but that's all. It worked sufficiently ok. All in all a lovely stay.

This was our third visit but different cottage but still had everyou need from the welcoming bottle of wine and treats would always stay here it is central to stay for the Cotswolds

Great little cottage!

The garden was a little more overlooked than it appears on the photos but that didn’t really matter. The property was clean and the owners kindly left wine and biscuits.

You can tell this is a labour of love for the owners and a very pretty comfortable cottage.

It's more rural than we were expecting and you can't just walk to a pub safely. They say parking for two cars but really there is parking for one car per cottage, sensibly and not two. (Unless you want to park on a patch of grass outside the property on a busy country lane which is pitch black at night) The cottage was well equipped with slow cookers, air fryers, stair gates, cots, it really has almost everything you can think of. It was missing a fan and a smart tv so we could watch netflix etc though. Welcome pack, includes, wine, cookies, tea, coffee and milk sachets which was nice touch. Few games like Scrabble and a dvd player and plethora of dvds to choose from. Dogs were left a bowel for water, but they aren't allowed upstairs or on sofas, which isn't communicated on the Sykes listing. Luckily the stair gate helped. Cottage and hot tub is overlooked by the owners. One day we arrived back to be told our outside light had been left on all night. This made us feel a tad awkward and was the only real time we spoke to anyone. The hot tub is a nice touch, we only really book places with a pool or hot tub when we holiday in UK, the hot tub cover seemed heavy, and not functioning properly, it was hard to shut back up easily and too close to cottage to get down the side. Not sure if it was us, but the hot tub never seemed very hot either. The windows upstairs are all low floor level, and classed as fire escapes, this inevitably stops furniture being placed. Really lacks a chest of drawers or second bedside table with drawers in the master room. There is a locked door in the bedroom, which for me was very off putting and made me feel awkward not knowing what was behind there. The main bathroom is really nice and modern, as is the kitchen. The shower is lacking a pump and wasn't very powerful tho. Overall we had a comfortable stay and you can't please everyone. Very much a home from home and we enjoyed our stay and appreciated all the little touches

In general everything was lovely.

The hottub was great and very well maintained. The cottage is beautiful and very clean, and we particularly loved the flagstone floor! Facilities are great with everything in order. If I have some complaints (though nothing serious) it's that hottub towels as well as shower towels would have been nice. A tea towel and some oven gloves would have been appreciated. Lastly, one month before our arrival I contacted the owners to ask if the cottage could be adorned with birthday banners as it was my partner's birthday on the day we arrived. The owners said that would not be a problem and that they would see to it. To my disappointment there were no banners when we arrived, so a sad let down on that score. All in all though we enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

On arrival we noticed the toaster and kettle was full of limescale and really disgusting.

The milk and t bags and coffee they left out for us were a year out of date. They leave you a bottle of wine and bag of crisps for arrival which the crisps were also a year out of date. The bed was so uncomfortable.

We loved the garden and hot tub, there was plenty of space for the three of us and all the amenities we needed. Great location for exploring the local area, lots of lovely pubs nearby. Would stay again! Thank you.

My friends and I stayed for our annual get-together for two nights and had a lovely time.

The hot tub was a bonus and a welcome extra after a day exploring Oxford. We would have liked an atmospheric lamp in the living room and perhaps a bit more room around the kitchen island to eat, but apart from that it was the perfect base and property to experience rural Oxfordshire.

Comfortable stay and a lovely location for a relaxing break.

The hot tub was nice and bed are comfortable. Dogs enjoyed the stay too.

From the bottle of bubbly on arrival to the toastie hot tub, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great location and central to most activities that we had planned. Hope to come back again!

Lovely property, cute cottage feel to it.

Was clean & tidy & had most things you require to make the stay comfortable. We took our one year old daughter, so appreciated the cot/ stair gate The only thing I would say is the shower really could do with a shower mat to stop the slipping ( mostly because of my daughter) trying to shower a one year old with no slip mat proved difficult.

Loved the hot tub. Property is in an excellent location, very quiet but close to many beautiful places. We would definitely recommend The Stables to friends and family and would love to return.

Only slight mark-down on the listing, was that it would have been helpful to know the comprehensive rules with dogs in the property.

It's listed as dog friendly, but when we got there, it was written to say dogs not allowed on furniture or upstairs at all, which was challenging, as our dog just loves to roam at home! Other than that, I cannot fault The Stables. The cottage was lovely; So welcoming and extremely well equipped! Location is nice and quiet, not far away from places to walk, pubs and nearby attractions and places of interest. The only downside is you have to drive to go anywhere, as The Meetings are quite remote and on a busy road, so with young children and dogs, it is a point to mention.

We had a great stay.

Beds and living room suite very comfortable. Had a small problem that was dealt with immediately, which was appreciated. Great base from which to visit some of the pretty Cotswold villages.

One of the best cottages we have stayed in.

Super location for exploring a new area. Excellent walks from the cottage door. Great for dogs. The hot tub was a good size and a nice treat after our long walks. The tea and coffee etc was very handy. Lots to do in the area. If going with dogs I recommend The Cotswolds Wildlife Park.

Beautiful property, spotless clean, the kitchen items and utensils was very thought out, everything was available that you would need to cook with.

Log burner was great for when it dropped cooler in the evening, and the hot tub was lovely. Lovely looked after cottage, we will be returning.

We had a great stay at The Stables.

It is remote so perfect if you want to get away from it all. The hot tub is lovely! It was clean and warm upon arrival. The property itself was very clean, kudos to the people who give it a thorough clean. When we arrived, we were greeted with Prosecco and goodies which was lovely! The Christmas tree was such a lovely touch too, set the festive scene. The kitchen is well equipped, you just need to explore it to find what you need. Everything is modern and works well. I would say there needs to be more drinking glasses though, there were only 2 in the property. The heating is new and works quickly so we were warm all the time. The shower is warm and powerful, there isn’t a bath so if you’ve got kids, be mindful of this. There were only 2 towels so we did have to do a wash, it may be worth proving a few more especially for those using the hot tub. We used the main bedroom and I’ve got to say, we didn’t sleep too well. The bed is too small. It’s a double but you could very easily get fit a king size in there. My partner isn’t the smallest so we felt so cramped. The bed frame is also really squeaky so if you’re a fidgeter like me, you do risk waking the other person up. The mattress itself was good. The pillows were thin so we did have to take more from the spare bedroom. I really do think upgrading to a king size would make the stay much more enjoyable, I’m sure most guests wouldn’t mind paying a bit extra for a larger bed. As a side note, the hairdryer doesn’t work properly, it cuts out after a few seconds. Overall we had a lovely stay and it was wonderful being able to take our dog. The property is modern and stylish. We did call the hosts once to work out the fire and they were friendly and quick to answer. Thank you for a lovely week :)

Really lovely cottage.

A lot of things to do that were a short(ish) journey in the car. Well equipped kitchen and loved having a washing machine, made coming home less stressful as could do it before we left. Very cozy and great heating especially with the nights being in the minuses. Only reason it wasn’t 10/10 was the bed, but that’s more personal preference, I suffer with nerve damage so most holiday lets beds are uncomfortable for me. Definitely recommended!

Lovely cottage in a great location for exploring Cotswold.

King size bed would have been better. Heating system that is in the main bedroom (in its own cupboard) woke us in the night. Down stairs w/c had an horrendous smell, which we contacted the owner about (my husband is a plumber so able to guide owner what the issue was) They got a plumber out the next day. We still feel issue hasn't been rectified as there is still a smell, not as bad but still awful. Shower also needs looking at, the water pressure is poor so not a great shower. We did clean limescale off to get the head to run a bit better. Also when using any facilities upstairs the water noise is rather loud throughout. Plumbing really needs looking at. Garden could do with a storage box for the furniture cushions. We were so lucky with the weather that it would have been nice to be able to sit on the furniture, however due to cushions being wet, this was not possible. It would be easy enough for holiday makers to put cushions away when not using furniture. However we had a lovely stay. Thank you.

Second visit to this cottage.

Ideal for visiting Oxford and Blenheim Palace, this was the idea of trip and I bought my 2 friends to area for first time. The hot tub was a lovely wind down from all our walking and visiting. Cottage just right and relaxing and we enjoyed watching baby house martins being fed and leaving their nests.

The Stables was lovely inside and out. It was clean and comfortable - the perfect base for seeing The Cotswolds and surrounding areas. Loved the hot tub and also the little welcome bottle of wine was a real treat!!

The cottage is perfect for what we wanted and had all the facilities we needed. The hot tub was great and it was near to local attractions such as Diddly squat farm and Bourton-on-the -water. I would definitely be interested in visiting again!

Everything was fine and as expected.

The only downside was that the hottub was not hot enough to use when we arrived. It took hours to get anywhere near enough lukewarm to use on the day of arrival.

Cottage is fantastic, clean and comfy beds.

And lovely hot tub too, although the jets only appeared to be working on the far side, we just kept swapping around! Oh, and a lovely welcome gift upon arrival. Situated in a very peaceful location, near so many quaint villages and historical towns. Perfect middle point for me and my 2 friends to meet up from different parts of the country. The owners, I felt, were not so professional. We were a towel missing, rectified upon notification to owners with a rather small bath towel. I feel the parking allocation should be signposted as to who should park where for the 3 properties available. Was asked to move one of the cars as there were 3 in our party, but next door only had 1 car. So my car could have been left on the car park by the bin shelter. Told to park on an overspill plot of muddy grassland. Where when I attempted to move it it got stuck due to rainfall, I eventually managed!

The cottage was lovely and we would happily come again.

The hot tub water seemed to need a little attention, but nothing major. Overall a great stay and we had a lovely break

The cottage was cosy and had everything we needed for a family/girls weekend with my sisters collies. We enjoyed the hot tub and spent most of the weekend chilling, we even booked a massage! We would like to go back again and do more exploring of the local area. Dog owners just note that the garden fence is not very high if you are taking a dog that likes to jump/escape.

A fabulous property.

Very clean, warm, comfortable and in a quiet area. Added bonus of a hot tub. It had everything we needed and we would most definitely stay again. Great communication with the hosts.

A very well equipped cottage that was perfect for our family Christmas.

The village and surrounding area is lovely, quintessentially English. We enjoyed the hot tub on Christmas and Boxing Day. The cottage was cosy and warm and the owners came to see us early on to check we had settled in ok. They told us about the Boxing Day hunt gathering in Chipping Norton which was fun to see. We would definitely recommend the cottage and area and hope to go back.

Cottage was very comfortable and relaxing just what was required.

The hot tub was a lovely added addition.

The fences around the garden are only waist heigh making it very overlooked by both the other guests and the owners who’s house is at the bottom of the garden, also can see right into the owners bedroom from the top floor.

Dog owners be warned although advertised as dog friendly on arrival the rules are stated that dogs can’t go upstairs or on the furniture so I wouldn’t class this as dog friendly. The garden is secure though so was safe. Hot tub was nice although you are looking out into the car park as people arrive which was weird. The cottage itself was lovely and clean and kitchen well equipped although missing a little bottle of milk and tea bags for when you arrive but did have a bottle of wine waiting. All in all we enjoyed our stay and the location is fab for exploring all the villages of the Cotswold and close to Bicester village for shopping!

Cottage is beautiful and very clean. Great to have an enclosed garden and hot tub. Such a quiet setting and lots of lovely countryside to explore!

Can't fault the cottage as it is finished to a very high standard and cleaned to a very high standard also.

Only thing I would say is that blackout curtains could be considered but this did not bother us as we weren't there to sleep in. Cottage is overlooked by owners property but nothing a couple of tall plants couldn't sort out in the garden. This did not particularly bother us either as we were only there for a few days. The locals seem to hare down the country lane which runs alongside the property at quite a pace so maybe the property could be gated at the main entrance just in case children or dogs venture out of the gated gardens. Apart from that fab property and location. The local pub is a real gem. Falkland Arms which is 30mins on foot or a couple of mins in car. Great bolt hole to venture out to the rest of the cotswolds. Happy customers!!

It was clean, warm, perfectly equipped and the owners had even taken the time to decorate it for the festive period!! We will definitely be back, we didn’t want to leave!!

We absolutely loved our stay, so did the dogs!

We had everything we needed, the hot tub was easy to use. The cottage was very clean and the free use of the EV charger was fantastic. We will definitely be visiting again. Only negative points we have, but it's just our personal preference. The bathroom towel are a bit small, the kitchen knives are blunt from the glass chopping boards. Plastic or wooden would be better (my partner is a chef).

I didn’t know what to expect, to say I was pleasantly surprised is not enough.

I can’t thank you enough for giving us a home from home. Fabulous place to celebrate a 40th birthday. I will definitely be booking another holiday with yourselves!

.. home from home all facilities you need and more including a hot tub and all with beautiful countryside right outside the front door. Easy to reach Cotswold tourist spots with chipping norton only 4 miles away...... dogs also had a great time and loved the garden .... welcome pack on arrival which is a really nice touch ... I will definitely be coming back

The Stables was immaculately clean and very well equipped.

Although dogs are welcome, there was no doggy smell at all, I am pleased to say. We appreciated some thoughtful touches, such as a wall socket with USB charging sockets. The TV has recently benefited from the addition of a Humax Freesat box, giving a wide range of stations. The area is very quiet; one reviewer mentioned occasional road noise but although the Stables is the nearest of the three to the road, I think one would need to be very sensitive to noise to be at all bothered by the road. The area really is very quiet. There are many walks; the property has a number of guide books which we used. The property is a very short drive from Great Tew which has an excellent pub; we ate there on three evenings. I was pleased that the owners were prepared to accommodate my road bike which sat half in the ground floor toilet and half in the hallway. Having somewhere secure for my bike is very important to me. We will return to this property at some stage. I seldom leave reviews because few properties reach the high standards promised; the Stables is an exception.

Our break away was fabulous - the stables was everything we needed.

Dog friendly it had all we needed in the kitchen so comfortable, loved the fact it had private parking close to the cottages .The owners Julie and Jo have done a fabulous job in renovating this building. We loved the extra touches our welcome gifts even had treats for our woofers and also loved the connection with horses as it was called the stables - brilliant - I will be back for another visit next year

A wonderful, warm and cosy cottage with excellent facilities for us and our four-legged friends.

The stables was clean and met our expectations.

Thewine and dog treats were well received and a nice touch.It was reassuring that despite the fact the owners lived opposite the accommodation ,not once did they feel it necessary to come and visit us,leaving us to get on with our much needed rest.Some owners declare that the gardens are safe and secure,very often I find this not to be the case when you have medium sized dogs who want to jump over or go through the fences.In the case of the stables I can honestly say it was the most secure of gardens and two English pointers were left very disappointed that they could not reenact the great escape.

Everything was well thought out and it was a real home from home experience.

the weather as ever was unpredictable, but the cotswolds has plenty to offer.

The Stables is a lovely little cottage.

It’s very well equipped and had everything we needed. It looks like it has been newly renovated. The stair gate is a great idea for the dogs, we use one at home, and the garden is safe and secure. If I could say one improvement it would be to supply fans in the bedrooms. They get a bit too hot being up in the roof and even open windows didn’t help.

Simply perfect!

What a wonderful base for exploring the Cotswolds.

There was nothing missing from the property, good cutlery, cooking pots and pans, oven proof dishes, sharp knives, fridge, freezer, washing machine, dish washer, microwave, fan assisted oven, everything! Even a tea pot! The floor is tiled which is brilliant when you're bringing your dog's. There is also a downstairs loo. Comfy leather recliner sofa and chair, big TV with free view and a DVD player. Also there is WiFi for the people that don't know how to get away from it all on holiday. Under the stairs are the clothes horse/ airer, mop, bucket, and hoover. On the stairs there's a child gate. Upstairs is the double room and the twin and a shower room with loo. Brilliant sky light in the shower room, should you have a call of nature during the night, you can sky gaze too. Couldn't ask for more, parking, garden for the dog's, walks on the doorstep, clean comfortable property, excellent owner's!

The bedding is such poor quality it actually affected overall experience.

I would recommend upgrading this as it’s scratchy, poor quality. The location and amenities are all good.

We really enjoyed our stay in the cottage (The Stables) on our visit to the cotswolds.

The cottage was immaculately presented a real home from home with everything you would require. We would have no hesitation in recommending "The Stables" and Sykes Cottages. Which we will be using in the future.

A very nice cottage ,very clean very well presented and very well equipped.

The unfortunate thing was the lack of any views over the surrounding countryside. Windows on the upper level were set at floor level so you needed to sit/lie on the floor to see out of the windows. on the ground floor the views through the windows were either the adjacent farmhouse building or the bin store. There was only one key and from my point of view a second key would be advantageous..

Very cosy cottage finished to a high standard throughout.

Lovely festive welcome pack including treats for Ruby the dog. Excellent shower. So warm we didn't even need to use the wood burner! Breakfast bar seating would be cramped for 4 people, but for 2 it was no problem. End of terrrace so parking area very convenient for loading/unloading. Great location.

The cottage was of very high quality and comfortable although the beds let it down.

When on holiday you need a good nights sleep and unfortunately the beds were not very comfortable. Apart from this we had a really enjoyable stay and the owners should be very proud of what they have achieved.

Cottage was spotless clean lovely welcome pack just a few little things could improve it no mirror downstairs except in toilet which it was to high up to see anything only top of head a tray in shower nowhere to put shampoo and soap over all it was a really lovely cottage

Everything you could need was provided, including the owners had left treats to start our holiday - lovely touch! We were also pleased that they emailed details about key collection beforehand, which made things a lot easier on arrival. I would highly recommed The Stables and would definitely book to go again.

A very comfortable cottage , quality fittings and efficient heating, perfect for our weekend visit - excellent for dogs- a secure lawn area was appreciated.

A rural location however unexpected traffic noise at night - nothing the owners can do about that but it did keep waking us up ! but the benefits of this property meant we would return if visiting this area again

Lovely area and lovely cottage

We had a super week at the Stables.

It was the perfect location for exploring Oxfordshire and the surrounding counties, and we made lots of day trips (Blenheim Palace, Stratford upon Avon, Stow on the Wold, Warwick, Biscester Village, etc). The cottage itself is one of three converted from an enormous old farm barn - and the conversion was has been done brilliantly so that the old character was still there yet the facilities and layout are everything you’d expect from a modern build. We were provided with a generous welcome pack and had access to great local shops in Chipping Norton. The owners suggested days out and walking routes nearby which we enjoyed despite the fierce heat. We also had several delicious meals in the local pub (The Falkland Arms). Thoroughly recommended.

The cottage is perfect , it is beautifully presented & has everything you need for your stay .

On arriving we found the owners had provided us with some goodies ie wine,biscuits, cakes ,milk ,tea,coffee, a throwaway barbecue , vase of flowers. Lovely touch. The cottage is in a great location to visit many of The Cotswolds towns & villages . Would definitely recommend these cottages.

Lovely recently converted cottage, overall very pleased with it, only minor complaint, it would have been nice to have a freezer if only a small compartment, more useful for us than a washing machine.
