    “This is a diamond.”

Quaint and cosy, lovely and warm with individual heaters in every room. The walls are decorated with the loveliest art and one senses Andre and his wife have tried their best to make it a home from home. Quaint and cosy, lovely and warm with individual heaters in every room. The walls are decorated with the loveliest art and one senses Andre and his wife have tried their best to make it a home from home. The kitchen is very well appointed but please bring your own milk, tea, sugar, coffee and toilet rolls, although some coffee is left on site for those gasping for a cup upon arrival. A shop is 2 minutes walk away and although there is a pub next door but we heard not a sound. No barking dogs or traffic; very quiet. Space for two cars with a third just over the road where the yellow line ends. A great find, where we had a wonderful family reunion. Please note that the twin beds are not suitable for elderly adults as they are quite low but I believe these will be replaced with standard height beds in the near future.

Hi Anthony Thank you so very much for your wonderful comments. I'm only sorry that we didn't get to meet; I held on as long as I could on your day of arrival; such a shame! Yes, we consciously decided against a high-end finish, where Guests might feel they had to 'walk on eggshells', preferring a standard that we, and our Guests felt was cosy, relaxed and informal; and, by the wonderful reviews, everyone seems to be happy - fantastic! I really must apologise, regarding the situation regarding beverages that we leave out for our Guests, but having left a 4-pint bottle of milk; over a Kilogram of ground coffee; a container full of instant coffee; 20± -coffee pods; 60 Yorkshire tea-bags; a box of green tea, and a full jar of sugar, we honestly thought we had left more than enough for two nights stay. The cottage accommodates eight Guests as standard, and with the sofa-bed, nine on many occasions, even more, with visitors on top, we feel, with the relatively low fees charged for the cottage in comparison to most other venues, we simply cannot afford to provide inexhaustible quantities; as it already costs us a small fortune. We do therefore feel it necessary to ask Guests to be prepared to provide their own beverages, once what we leave out is exhausted. Again, it appears we owe another apology, as we normally leave a spare roll of lavatory paper in each of the three bathrooms. On this occasion, the cleaning member of our team decided you wouldn't need a spare roll as well as a full roll; as you were only staying for two nights. We have now asked her to make sure there is a spare roll in each bathroom cupboard, no-matter how short the stay; so, thank-you for bringing this matter to our attention. Every little help is so valuable in helping us to continue to improve, which is a win-win situation for everyone. Thank you all, once again. 4Happydays, Mags & André Property Owner

Step through the front door and into the heart of the home — a spacious, newly renovated open-plan ground floor that retains its character with exposed beams and period charm. Three inviting sofas offer plenty of space to unwind and ease into holiday mode, whether you're catching up on your favourite series via Netflix or Prime Video, or simply enjoying good company.

The extendable dining table, which seats ten to twelve, has played host to many memorable meals and lively gatherings. The kitchen blends quirky touches with traditional features and is fully stocked for shared cooking experiences — from an electric hob and oven to a food processor and air fryer.

The aromas and laughter that fill the space make meal preparation part of the fun. For quieter moments, choose from a curated selection of books or gather around for after-dinner games.

When it’s time to rest, four bedrooms offer flexible sleeping arrangements: a double with en-suite shower, a king-size with a bathroom just across the landing, a charming twin next to the same bathroom, and a single with a trundle bed at the top of the stairs, conveniently close to a ground-floor shower room. Start your day with a refreshing shower or a leisurely bath, then enjoy complimentary filter or pod coffee, speciality teas, or a classic Yorkshire brew.
