“The cottage was lovely, however, there were a couple of basic amenities that were lacking.”

We stayed at the cottage for 1 week, and there was only 1.5 rolls of toilet paper provided for 3 guests...we had to buy our own after one day of being there as we could not find additional ones anywhere. The instruction manual upon arrival also mentioned that firewood would be provided for our stay. When we arrived, there were a few logs in a box next to the fireplace and no additional firewood outside as stated in the manual - we had reached out to Sykes in regards to this and did not ...

We stayed at the cottage for 1 week, and there was only 1.5 rolls of toilet paper provided for 3 guests...we had to buy our own after one day of being there as we could not find additional ones anywhere. The instruction manual upon arrival also mentioned that firewood would be provided for our stay. When we arrived, there were a few logs in a box next to the fireplace and no additional firewood outside as stated in the manual - we had reached out to Sykes in regards to this and did not recieve a response, but someone dropped off a small bag of kindling that evening. It burned VERY quickly and only lasted us a day or two. We also found the temperature in the cottage to be quite variable. Some nights would be quite cold and others quite warm - we were not to adjust the thermostat as stated but did adjust the rads (and increasing them on colder nights did not help much, nor did turning them down on warmer ones). The attention to detail and cleanliness was perfection, as well as the extras included and provided upon our arrival (juice and milk in the fridge and a box of cookies, teas, coffee, sugar etc.). It was a truly lovely home however, we do not think we will return as we also found the proxomity of driving to other towns within the cotswolds to be too far there and back. We found it to be too much driving during our stay.
