The Cottage

We loved our stay at the Cottage.

When we arrived it was easy to see the cleanliness and care that had been taken to welcome us. There were fresh flowers and milk, and lovely snacks, not just for us but also for our dog and a lovely hand written note. The decor and design of The Cottage has been done with care. The kitchen had everything we required and was well laid out. The lounge was airy and comfortable with a TV where you could access all the streaming services you could want. The bathroom was modern clean and with a lovely large shower. There was also an area with a washing machine and small tumble drier where there was plenty of floor space for shoes etc. The main bedroom was large and had a super large and very comfortable bed. The dressing room, 2nd bedroom was arranged so the beds could be set up for two further persons. As we were only a couple we didn't use the other beds. The Cottage had its own parking and is enclosed so our dog could safely go outside. For ease of maintenance the outside has a loose stone covering and lots of pots of colourful flowers. We found the stairs ok, they are a little unique and persons with mobility issues may find them more difficult. We found the location of The Cottage ideal. Ettington is a busy village with a good shop and a nice pub. We found the recreation ground had good playground (I wasn't allowed on it but it looked fun!) There is a Sainsbury supermarket about 10mins away. Stratford upon Avon is about 20min drive away and Moreton in Marsh is about a 25min drive. Ettington has good road links and there is lots to do and visit in the area. Anne who is the host is very kind and caring. We would have no hesitation in returning to The Cottage, we loved it.

Fabulous cottage, very comfortable, lovely decor and furnishings.

The basket of treats was a nice touch. Extremely helpful having a tumble dryer, as it was a bit rainy during our stay. Great walks nearby for our dogs, in a lovely village. Would recommend.

Lovely cottage with all the facilities you’d need.

Plenty of walks nearby and only a few miles away from Stratford. The village is very friendly with a good pub and village store just a short walk away. A big thank you to the owner who left us a very nice welcome card and goodies, even with treats for the dog. Have booked again for September. 5 stars!

The cottage was very clean and comfortable, just right for a family of three.

The stairs are very steep and wouldn't suit anyone with mobility problems. The welcome basket of goodies, including milk, was much appreciated after a long journey! The local pub is well worth a visit, and we also made use of the bus service to Stratford-upon-Avon, which stopped near enough outside the door. The local spa store was also very handy. We had a lovely few days away in a very cosy cottage, and would recommend it.

Perfect cottage for a getaway.

Very clean and well kept. Bed exceptionally comfortable, lovely welcome hamper from owner. Heating was excellent as we stayed March. Would 100% stay again and would highly recommend. Our two dogs were made most welcome too. Even though this cottage is a dog friendly place, it was absolutely spotless. Communication with the owner was easy and pleasant, overall, a beautiful place to base for exploring. Ideal for a couple (romantic getaway) or small family.

We were not on holiday,but moving house.My only problem was the steep staircase.

We had a lovely stay at The Cottage.

It was perfect for myself, husband, daughter and our dog as a base for exploring the Cotswolds. My daughter(11) slept on one of the futons in the walk in wardrobe/dressing room (it is the size of a single room so plenty of space for two children. The kitchen had all the basic equipment to prepare meals and there was even milk and some provisions left in a welcome basket. Bathroom-fresh-clean and a great size walk in shower. We found some lovely walks from the cottage as well as further afield. I would say that the stairs, although they add character to the cottage, are very steep and unsuitable for small children. There is no guard in the bedroom which lead directly to the stairs. Overall we had a great stay at The Cottage and it was perfect for us. Pub in walking distant a cafe and shop. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We accidentally left a book and the host was amazing and posted it back to us, above and beyond, we didn’t need any help during our stay, when I spoke before our stay to clarify something, the host was very friendly and helpful

Only issues we had are that the staircase is very steep with restricted headroom .

Also cooker not ideal and no extraction . Property it’self was lovely .

Not only was the cottage, a beautiful, clean, comfortable and welcoming place to stay.

The owner is such a warm and friendly lady, who we were lucky enough to meet. Everything was catered for, ensuring our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. If I could give this more than five stars I would ! Everything was the very best quality. With an amazing welcome basket, and handwritten card. It was a wonderful place to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary. Thank you Ann, we will definitely be back !

We had a wonderful stay at the Cottage - such a gorgeous, homely place.

Arrived to fresh flowers in the kitchen and a basket of welcome goodies alongside a little handwritten card from the owner Anne - such a thoughtful touch! The cottage was lovely and clean with everything we needed for our stay. Great location - just a 10 minute drive into Stratford upon Avon, and also a short walk up to the local shop and pub. We would definitely recommend and will be back again!

This was the ideal location for what the 2 of us needed.

Close to family, graduation location and student family member full extraction from Uni digs to home at the end of our stay. Accurate communication regarding directions there and key pick up. Lovely small surprise hamper in the kitchen when we arrived and a folder outlining what's available locally. The cottage was clean, cosy and had everything we needed. We took 2 bikes which the shed was ideal for storing these in (we used our heavy duty chain locks to keep them secure) and 2 cars which there was ample room to park on the drive.If you like cycling there are many cycle routes close by to explore including the Stratford Greenway. The minor roads were nice and quiet and there are gravel type paths too if you like going off road. It's not far to get to Leamington spa, Warwick or Stratford upon Avon if you like following waterways and canals. There are some beautiful buildings in the surrounding area that are worth looking out for too.Communication with the host was friendly and very helpful. Definitely worth considering a return visit!

The host went above and beyond to make us feel incredibly welcome.

Excellent cottage good for a couple, stairs quite steep but good handrails, lovely welcome pack.

Would be better with a slightly larger fridge otherwise lovely stay

This is a lovely cottage, but slightly misleading, as there is no secluded back garden it is just a garden down one side and to the bottom.

You can't count the small area at the back as a secluded back garden. There was only a very small frying pan, this needs to be upgraded to a bigger one. The main thing is the sofa - it is the most uncomfortable thing we have sat on, IKEA, modular sofa, very uncomfortable. Luckily we know the area well and went out daily, but difficult to relax when we got back to the cottage. However on a positive note it was very clean, and the large kingsize bed was very comfortable. Also the towels although clean, they were very small, need upgrading and to larger ones . Would we go back yes, but only if the points raised were addressed.

We had a wonderful week staying at this beautiful little cottage, it was very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed.

The owner had left a basket of goodies, milk and water in the fridge and even treats for our dog. We felt very welcomed. There was even a vase full of lovely fresh flowers placed on the kitchen window sill. We found lots of lovely walks in this cute village where there is a shop and pub close by. The locals are very friendly and were happy to stop and have a chat whilst we were on a walk! The village is only a few miles from Stratford upon Avon. We were so happy with our stay and will definitely be going back to ‘The Cottage’. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this lovely little place.

A Very pretty cottage in a lovely location thank you for the welcome pack and the vase of roses on arrival we had a lovely weeks stay.

We really enjoyed staying at The Cottage It’s a really pretty cottage in a nice village close to Stratford and the Cotswolds Everything inside was spotless.

It has been modernised inside very nicely keeping the feel of the pretty Cottage The bedroom was spacious with a large double bed which was very comfy The stairs are a little quirky to go up but are ok as long as you are fairly able Everything you need is there ! Nice Kitchen and downstairs toilet and shower and all up to date but in keeping The lounge is comfy The owner left a nice basket of some goodies for us and milk and even treats for my two dogs It has a tiny gravelly outside garden which has white picket fencing round so safe to let my dogs outside briefly There is a parking space right by the cottage We stayed there as we were attending and competing at a Championship Dog Show at Stoneleigh Park, so its location was suitable and also suitable for visiting our relatives in Warwick as well. Nice open fields nearby to exercise my two dogs The owner was very nice and helpful during our stay . Thank you all.

Absolutely super place for us to stay, explore the local area and meet up with our son who lives locally.

The cottage was lovely and for us, well located.

The instructions for how to get there and the key information were very clear. The cottage was very clean and the bed was comfy. The only downside was the access to upstairs. The doorway was low and the stairs steep and curved. Would suit young, vertically challenged people. The owner had left some nice things to eat and a bottle of milk. Very thoughtful. We enjoyed our stay.

Lovely cozy warm cottage, treats left were very welcome, ideal location for Stratford,Banbury,Compton Verny and as dog owners we felt we could relax due to the door on the stairs preventing the dog from exploring the upper floor.

Enclosed area for dog was ideal. Even though we are both over 60 we managed the quirky stairs quite easily, but might not be suitable for less agile persons. Every where was spotlessly clean, village store and pub very close and takeaway meals only 8 mins drive to collect. We would happily stay again!!!

Absolute beautiful cottage, I booked it for my birthday, and it is such lovely cottage, cosy and comfortable, and our little paws enjoyed her stay too, we really enjoy our stay and not far from Stratford upon Avon was a beautiful day out.

Newly refurbished cottage & it was a privilege to be the first guests to occupy it.

The owner made us feel very welcome and so did the other residents in the village. A perfect base & location for visiting Stratford-upon-Avon & The Cotswolds. Comfortable, modern & very, very clean. We will be back.
