A lovely base for our family weekend together.

The cottage was warm, cosy and well equipped; we loved having the wood burning stove. Blockley is a very pretty village with a well stocked shop; we enjoyed walks from the door and being only a short drive to places such as Burton on the Water and Chipping Campden.

Excellent accomodation but there is a smell in the utilitu room at rear of house

Nice property, and great location.

To be honest reviews are very personal, and can be emotive. Just a couple of niggles that were reported direct to Sean. The toilet seat was loose in the bathroom. The Freezer box in the fridge needs de frosting as well. The rest of the property was great, great facilities and clean. Sean was very helpful and did offer to fix the loo seat for us. Regards Chris

The cottage was lovely overall and we loved the fire but were disappointed in the following: We didn’t really like the kitchen, the fridge door inside was missing the part where you store items such as milk, wine etc so we had to use the shelves which meant it took up room and we couldn’t fit the food in.

I opened the freezer and shut it again as there was so much ice you couldn’t get anything in. The glasses were dirty with lipstick so we washed everything again. We had to buy a potato masher as there wasn’t one. The kitchen smelt of dogs and I hoovered a couple of times and the Hoover bag smelt so badly of dogs we had to light a candle to get rid of the smell.

Hi, lovely cottage generally.

However disappointed with the quality of the bed. Hard. Pillows lumpy. Uncomfortable to sleep in. White cotton duvet not even ironed, felt it let the general feel down upon arrival.

The place sleeps 6 but there were only the two of us and the dog, so we had loads of room.

We really loved it because it was old and had a lot of character but was also very clean and had great facilities. I have booked it again for next year. The price was very reasonable and actually cheaper than some properties that only sleep 2. We love Blockley and have been going there for our annual holiday for 15 years.

Perfect location and village was beautiful with really friendly locals. The pubs and local cafe were on your doorstep and would really recommend. Would definitely stay here again :)

Alex was a superb host - not only was he incredibly communicative, but amenable to any questions we had.

He was polite, swift in responding, and the property has the best location. Excellent for our family.

Overall we had a great visit to Ashton House Blockley.

The house is very well decorated and the location is superb. The pub, hotel and local cafe and shop are all in walking distance. Like most villages parking outside the house was a challenge. I’d like to suggest that a small investment in bedroom wardrobes or hangers. As there was very little to hang your clothes on, we had to live out of our cases for a week. The family had a great first visit to the Cotswolds.

We had a great stay at Ashton House.

It is spacious and comfortable and the extras such as the milk, butter and bread were very much appreciated. The house is in a great position in the village, with the fantastic Blockley Community cafe being a very short distance from the house as well as the Great Western Arms pub, where we also had a super meal. The village itself is quiet and beautiful. There are views from the windows, and even though the house doesn’t have a garden, the church yard is a lovely place to sit with a cup of tea! We had a super weekend and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property.

It was freezing heating was on 10 mins at a time apart from that all good

Had a fabulous few days at Ashton House.

It was extremely comfortable and warm and well equipped with everything we needed. Despite its appearance from outside there was more than enough space inside for us to spread out over the 3 floors.The owner Alex was very sympathetic and helpful when we had a personal problem which was much appreciated. The village of Blockley is delightful and perfectly placed for exploring the Cotswolds.

Lovely building and so comfortable and homely.

Loved the fact that all necessary cooking utensils and things like salt pepper and even dog biscuits were left to make our stay so much better and welcoming. Absolutely loved our stay and couldn't recommend it highly enough. Thank you.

A beautiful cottage.

Comfortable and clean. A fabulous location. I was worried about parking but there was no problem. My only comment about the cottage is that a fire gauntlet is needed for opening the log burner as the handle gets very hot. Other than that we had a wonderful stay and would certainly recommend to friends.

We loved our stay at the Ashton house!

The kitchen was thoughtfully stocked, the living areas were comfortable, and the fire supplies were a bonus. We would definitely book again! The only small, small nitpick is our pillows were uncomfortable and there was no soap or shampoo in the showers. We’ll be sure to bring some next time, so no big deal. Thank you again!

We have recently returned from a wonderful break at Ashton House.

We loved it. The house was very comfortable, conveniently located in both Blockley and the Cotswolds. We did the Batsford circular walk which was really beautiful. The village is wonderful with plenty to wander around. We will be back. Thankyou

. and it’s so well presented with great taste Lounge with wood burner with a starter pack for the coldest night Comfortable seating and the kitchen is next door , adequate for any needs , milk and bread plus more were provided FOC. By our available and considerate hosts The bathrooms and bedrooms were bordering sumptuous but again great taste The village has everything from pubs X 2 Cafe and great dog embracing locals Great place to book !!!!

This was a very comfortable, warm and beautifully renovated house.

The three bedrooms are of good size and there is an extra small room on the top floor with space for a single mattress. Very pretty village and house is located almost next to the church. Plenty of walks from the house.

Beautiful home in lovely Blockley.

Loved the full washing machine and dryer, and full kitchen with some fresh food provided (milk, butter, bread; also basics salt, pepper, flour, olive oil). We only used one of the three bedrooms. Would be nice to have a toilet downstairs. All else very comfortable and nice. Close to the church, local store and pub. Very relaxing! Front door lock is a little difficult to maneuver but we managed.

We booked this property at short notice at a reduced rate.

We are an elderly couple and normally would not stay in a larger accommodation but found the property excellently appointed and met all our needs. The parking was a bonus and the village cafe & shop just a short walk away through the church yard. We had dinner twice, including curry night ,at the Crown Hotel nearby which was very good. The bed was very comfortable & we slept well.We would have chosen the rear bedroom but approximately three steps separated this from the shower room so access was better from the front bedroom. (For the elderly ) Would definitely recommend this house for a family or friends Stuart Wale

The property is lovely, plenty of space for the 6 of us and the kids loved the park in the village.

There were just a few things that would have made the stay perfect. The bed in the master bedroom is so hard, and this is coming from someone with a firm bed at home, I hardly slept. Also, the toilet seat in the family bathroom is coming lose and could do with repairing, didn’t effect our stay but just fyi. And finally, a couple more lamps in the dining/living area would also be good, as it’s too dark with the two small lamps on, but then too bright with the main lights. Otherwise, a lovely stay at Ashton House.

We booked a four night stay in Ashton house for a break in the north Cotswolds.

The house was beautifully presented and provided a lovely base to explore the area. Blockley village was a great place to stay and the house is minutes walk away from a very nice cafe and local grocery shop, as well as the picturesque Norman church. We would highly recommend Ashton House if you are looking for accommodation in the area.

Cafe, 2 pubs house was just what we wanted comfortable and clean walk in shower excellent bedrooms plenty of cupboard space for are party kitchen and living room Very good and we was able to park straight outside. Would recommend this house to anyone thanks

Four of us stayed at Ashton house earlier this week for 3 nights.

The cottage was clean, tidy and very comfortable. Plenty of space but cosy, we ate out but did use the kitchen a few times, had everything we needed. Lovely village and we were able to park outside the property. Super cafe/shop to be found a short stroll through the church. Easy access to all the places we wanted to visit. We all loved our stay at Ashton House.

Ashton House is a beautiful cottage, so cosy and relaxing and tastefully decorated.

Fabulous fire that made those evenings more cosy. Set in the beautiful blockley village which is picturesque as are the surrounding cotswold villages making it a lovely place to stay close or travel around the cotswolds. Fantastic shower very powerful. Fantastic comfortable bed to sleep in. I had a very quick response from Sean from.the management company and Alex the owner who were helpful with a query I had. Highly recommend I will be coming back

Wonderful break away celebrating our daughters 21st.

Cottage is beautiful, bigger than expected. Blockley is a stunning village to stay in, the cottage is situated by the church making an idyllic location. Beds comfy, wood burner going, glass of wine in hand…..could live here quite happily!! We will return!

Can’t recommend Ashton House highly enough!

A spacious, beautifully finished property that exceeded our expectations. The attention to detail and the finishes used were exceptional. The beds and settees the best quality and everything felt like a luxury hotel. The appliances in the kitchen were such good quality that ended up enjoying cooking and rarely ate out. We even did some Christmas baking with the kids. Shower powerful and good quality and bath great for the kids. Loved how the owners have designed this renovation, the living room was cosy for film nights and dining room furniture is beautiful. Blockley is a wonderful village, we discovered some great walks thanks to booklets at the cottage and the pubs and cafe were friendly and welcoming. It’s the first time we have stayed in a village with no car park and we did panic on the first day however we dropped bags off and got used to parking by the park and walking through the church yard. Every so often there was a space outside the cottage. Neighbours were friendly and didn’t mind us unloading. Overall, perfect stay and would highly recommend.

This was the ideal setting for our family new years break.

The cottage itself is fantastic, located in a beautiful little village. The owner was very helpful, and answered our questions promptly. The bedrooms are spacious and very comfortable. The living area very cozy with the log burner and a nice glass of red as we sat round with the kids. Kitchen well equipped and nice touch with the basics provided as well as fresh milk and bread. Good to have standard toiletries provided too. The local cafe is about 60seconds walk and sooo nice, and The Great Western pub is about 5 mins walk, with good food, atmosphere and a really warm welcome! Overall a fantastic place to bring in the new year!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Ashton House.

It was clean and comfortable and suited us location-wise perfectly. It would have been a lovely touch to have found milk in the fridge on our arrival - whenever we’ve hired other cottages there have always been provisions kindly left, which are a welcome touch. In a similar vein, we’ve always found shampoo and conditioner provided in other properties. And, as a final point, it would have been lovely to have been able to park outside the property, esp when unpacking or packing the car up. Could you place a cone there to reserve the space for residents?

Lovely property; great location; clean and reasonably well equipped.

Parking not great during the day; real struggle to find anywhere to park when we arrived. Parking on the lower road and walking up through the church yard an option if nothing closer. The tea room is popular, for good reason, so a lot of visitors in the area. Could do with a fireplace companion set and glove. No welcome pack (which is usually common these days in most cottages we’ve stopped at; however the shop is well stocked), although there was the makings of a fire for a night. Otherwise enjoyed our stay. The cafe and shop are great and very convenient. Lots to see and do around the Cotswolds.

A quirky stay in a beautiful well situated location.

The attractive property is decorated and furnished to a high standard and well provisioned! The added extras of a travel cot and highchair are great for families with young children. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would revisit in a heart beat. The property is close to Broadway Tower and several National Trust locations, most of which were only within a 10-15 min drive. Excellent!
