    “Our 2nd stay at the Old Stables.”

    Couldn't fault the stay here. A good cottage in a lovely setting and a lovely welcome gift which was much appreciated. It has a large garden that our two dogs loved running in. There are two private fishing lakes which we walked by in the evenings, the wildlife was amazing. We saw grey herons, Canada geese, mallard ducks, rabbits and a couple of Roe Deer. The cottage is set in a good area for travelling to different towns. Examples are Brecon, Haye-on-Wye, Monmouth and Bourton-on-the-Water, ...

    Couldn't fault the stay here. A good cottage in a lovely setting and a lovely welcome gift which was much appreciated. It has a large garden that our two dogs loved running in. The cottage is set in a good area for travelling to different towns. Examples are Brecon, Haye-on-Wye, Monmouth and Bourton-on-the-Water, which were within about an hour's journey. The main roads are easily accessed. We couldn't recommend the Old Stables more highly. We will be returning for a 3rd visit in the future.

The Old Stables is a quaint stable conversion based just outside of Upton Bishop in Herefordshire.

A group of friends looking for a peaceful getaway should look no further than this gem.

Walk through the French doors and enter into the open plan living area, there is plenty of comfortable seating in front of the TV, with ample dining furniture and a well-appointed kitchen.

Downstairs comes with a pleasant double bedroom with fresh decor, wooden beams and a high ceiling.

The ground floor also comes with a utility leading onto the stylish family bathroom.

Up the wooden staircase and you are greeted with a gallery-style landing giving a real sense of space in the place.

The first floor provides two more well-presented bedrooms under the eaves with Velux windows lighting the place up.

To the front of The Old Stables comes a delightful sitting area, an ideal spot to sit with your morning coffee to start the day.

Upton Bishop is a short distance away, offering a village pub and restaurant as well as a range of stunning walks nearby.

There is a whole host of scenery in the surrounding area, with the delightful market town of Ross-on-Wye well worth visiting as it boasts stunning buildings and a good range of amenities.

The Old Stables is a charming cottage in an excellent location.

The thriving village of Upton Bishop lies in beautiful Herefordshire countryside close to the border with Gloucestershire and has an excellent village pub, craft centre and is just 3 miles from the pretty riverside town of Ross-on-Wye. Upton Bishop offers many lovely walks and cycle routes with the Herefordshire Trail and Wye Valley Walk both close by. Nearby Gorsley offers a well-stocked village shop with Post Office and off licence, along with a popular free house pub with restaurant that's renowned for its Nepalese cuisine both in the county and beyond. Newent, one of the most attractive market towns in the Vale of Leadon and formerly a Roman settlement, has a wide range of attractions, including the half-timbered Old Market Hall dating back to 1668, traditional inns, restaurants, tea rooms and individual shops. Overlooking a large loop in the beautiful River Wye is the historic market town of Ross-on-Wye, situated in the picturesque Wye Valley.
