“The location is lovely and the property a good size.”
However the kitchen equipment is very basic and there was barely enough crockery to go round which made cooking for 8 tricky. The beds are rickety and could do with tightening to stop the loud squeaks. I also think you could do with warning people about the dogs, whilst my group were happy with it and liked playing with them I know several people who are quite scared of dogs and it would ruin their holiday having 4 large dogs invading their space.

I am so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us, and found the Hop Kiln and location to your satisfaction.
Thank you for drawing my attention to the beds - we have been booked all summer and this is the first I have been told about this, once the property is vacated this weekend I will get them checked and replaced if necessary.
I am disappointed that you found the kitchen equipment basic, as it was fitted out to the specification set by Sykes. There is fridge/freezer, ceramic hob & oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, cafetiere, together with pots, pans, serving dishes, casserole dishes, cooking trays etc. Actually it would be a great help to me if you could let me know what was lacking and then I could add it for future guests.
Also I am sorry that you found the crockery provided insufficient. There are 10 place settings of crockery and cutlery, together with 3 x 8 different types of glasses and 8 cups and saucers. There is a dish washer( with tablets for a week) provided and I assumed this would be sufficient, I apologise if you found this wanting.
We have 3 border collies who, when not working, love to play with a ball, and as a rule most guests and their children find them very friendly and there are a lot of favourable comments and many offers of taking them home with them!!! However I can see that it may be an issue for some. In the spring we installed fencing and a 2nd gate to prevent access, but they seem to have found a way round these, and in the autumn we will replace all the fencing to ensure the garden is totally enclosed.
I do ask all guests if they are happy for the dogs to visit and if not to tell me and they will be tied up away from the houses, there is no way that I would allow the dogs to visit if they were not welcome.
I hope this allays your concerns and perhaps we will see you again at the Hop Kiln.
