“The website photos do not do the surroundings justice, it was picture perfect and so peaceful.”

The cottage was very sweet with a gorgeous garden and the beds really comfortable. The sofas were a bit uncomfortable and old though and could do with replacing.

The cottage was very sweet with a gorgeous garden and the beds really comfortable. The sofas were a bit uncomfortable and old though and could do with replacing. The kitchen was good with all we needed except a tray would be useful to take drinks up to the terrace. Loved the river and the beautiful village but would have been nice to know there was a footpath with a bridge leading to a field that we didn’t discover till our last day. Perfect for peace and quiet.

The property

Spring Cottage is very much, and every inch, the quintessential English and Cotswolds cottage.

An 18th Century cottage set in an adorable little village just Outside Bibury (near Burford), it offers guests a wonderful option to sample the Cotswolds' at its most charming best.

Overlooking a beautiful garden and with a river gently meandering past its foot, you have the true picture-postcard location in just about every sense.

Inside each room throughout the cottage has a warm, welcoming feel, with delightful views across the open countryside or village.

We particularly adore the garden-to-river view from the cottage along with the seats perched on the rivers' edge from which to enjoy the world drift past, it is about as serene a location as you could possibly imagine.

The village of Winson is so typically Cotswolds that it is hard to imagine that anything has changed in the last 200 years, except for the odd car tootling through the local lanes...This is a family and friends' location, a chance to enjoy the fresh air, walking into Bibury (and the pubs of course) or to simply take in some breathtaking views on the many paths peppered across the landscape.

Heavenly!

About the location

BIBURY

Burford 9 miles; Bourton-on-the-Water 10 miles.

William Morris called Bibury ‘the most beautiful village in England” and today it is world famous as a village which best epitomises the English rural scene. At its centre is an outstanding Saxon church. So important is the village architecturally that the National Trust is closely involved in its preservation - Arlington Row, a row of weavers cottages was restored by the Trust in the 1970s and its distinctive roofline and gables are one of the most photographed scenes in the Cotswolds. The village has a selection of shops, pubs and tea rooms and a wider range of amenities are available in the nearby market town of Burford “Gateway to the Cotswolds”.

NOTE: This property has a £100 good housekeeping bond, this amount is automatically shadowed when the booking is made.
Note: Guests take great care at the water's edge, therefore parents with children should be careful, and supervise them outside at all times.
Note: Parking in a quiet lane, you will need to walk to the property. This may not be suitable for people with mobility issues, as it is quite a steep hill to and from the property.
Note: If you arrive after dark you will need a torch as there is no street lighting.
Note: Space around the double bed is limited.
