Lovely, comfortable cottage and beautifully decorated and presented.

Very clean and the owners had thought of everything, a very well equipped kitchen and log burner ready to use on a chilly evening. The bed was so comfortable and we had a great sleep. The hot tub was a real treat after a day of walking. Great location on the edge of the forest, with walks on the doorstep and good base to explore the area. Recommend for a relaxing break.

We had a lovely stay at Lilly Cottage, situated on the edge of the Forest of Dean.

Matt and Chloe were friendly, welcoming and there if we ever needed them. Amazing walks through the Forest right on the doorstep made even better by the amazing weather. Also experienced a couple of day trips out to Gloucester and Worcester. Would highly recommend and will certainly be returning!

Warm and comfortable in a lovely setting on the edge of the Forest of Dean. The hosts were friendly, welcoming and very helpful. Hot tub was welcome after cycling, and the washing machine and dishwasher were useful.

Owners were very friendly and helpful. Situated on The Forest of Dean, plenty of walks and rides from the front door. Secure bike storage and drying room were extremely useful. Look forward to staying again.

Has everything you need. In a beautiful location. The log burner and hot tub are wonderful and just what you need after a day out walking. Chloe and Matt are really helpful and on hand if needed. The bed was comfy and we would definitely return.

The tranquil location is perfect for exploring the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. Coming back each day to relax in the hot tub with a view of the forest was a real highlight. Matt and Chloe were very welcoming hosts – as were their two gorgeous cats!

A clean, well-equipped cottage but for those of us who aren't up to date, we could have done with some info about the cooker - but Matt was very helpful!

We managed to work out the TV. Also for those of us of a certain age and needs, it was quite a long trek to use the loo in the middle of the night! The surroundings were very pleasant and the view was wonderful! We didn't use the hot tub so can't comment on that I'm afraid. A good base for getting to lots of places. Thank you Matt for your help - and especially for supplying a slip mat for the shower.

Well-equipped, helpful hosts, warm and quiet, but with all amenities close by. Very clean; wi-fi good but mobile signal patchy. We didn't get around to using the impressive hot tub - next time perhaps? Would thoroughly recommend Lilly Cottage for a tranquil getaway in the heart of the Forest of Dean

A gorgeous cottage tucked away in the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire.

Clean and cosy. Hospitable hosts. Amazing location. The icing on the cake was the use of the hot tub. Could not recommend it high enough 10/10 - 5 star rating.

Really helpful hosts who were available when we needed them. Walks on the doorstep and a friendly local pub within walking distance with excellent food. Lots of great places to visit within the area.

Our second stay at Lilly cottage and it was just as wonderful as the first.

We met Matt one of the owners who was lovely and talked to my partner about cars (which he thoroughly enjoyed). The fire and hot tub were lovely and the bed extremely comfortable. We will be back again!

Lovely cottage, well equipped with high quality fixtures, fittings and pots and pans.

Comfortable king sized bed. Very private and quiet. Walks from your doorstep. What's not to like? Even saw a wild boar and 7 young just 250 metres from the accommodation. The owners respect your privacy but are available if required which is what we enjoy. Very happy with the holiday and would go back without hesitation.

The cottage was excellent, beautifully clean and well equipped and in a gorgeous location.

. The hot tub was prepared and ready for use. A nice touch of cookies and 2 cans of sparkling mead were in the kitchen on arrival. The owner of the cottage checked in on us to see everything was okay. Highly recommend this cottage

What a wonderful winter break.

Spent a week in the cottage and really relaxed doing.... nothing. The cottage is as described. Cozy and has great attention to detail. The hot tub was very special as was the wood burner. Loved the thoughtful chocolate gift on arrival. The kitchen really has every comfortable and is fully equipped. The only negative was a slightly bigger bed would have been great... but that's just us as we are used to a super king! All in all, really highly recommended.

We had a very relaxing week . The cottage has everything you need, extremely comfy bed and the hot tub was lush . Lovely welcome package and flowers so thoughtful. We lit the burner as well which was super cozy . Just a wonderful place to stay .

Perfect getaway.

The property was clean and tidy, and was a lovely place to get away from the world. Plenty of walks locally for hikers. Couch was comfy and the bed was fantastic, had the best nights sleep I've had in years. It had everything you needed for a break. Used the hot tub six out of seven nights, was wonderful. Would we stay again, most definitely. We hope to be back next year.

A lovely cottage to relax in, but there were a few issues that needed to be addressed. The bottom shelf of the fridge door was cracked, so no heavy items could be placed on it., i.e pints of milk. Also the fridge /freezer required de-frosting (thick ice ran down the back of fridge, and freezer boxes were difficult to manage. We found someone sock inside the washing machine, and the cooker grill pan had not been cleaned. There were no fire lighters in the jar by the fire, as stated there would be some in their information pack about the cottage. The fire tools handles were loose, and required tightening. We did not meet the Hosts, and lastly there was no welcome pack for us, not even a pint of milk for a cup of tea on arrival. ( which other guests have mentioned they had wine/chocolates in the Guest Book) the hot tub was great.

Everything was just perfect. The welcome pack was very well received! Matt and Claire were close by if we needed them but gave us the space to enjoy our break. Furnishings were of a high quality. The bed was especially comfortable. The hot tub was a lovely finishing touch! Will be going back at some point!

Just wanted to make a complaint about the hot tub.

When we booked the cottage, we booked for the usage of the hot tub and we were under the impression that we would have unlimited use of the hot tub. When we arrived we were then informed by a rule book that stated 30minutes usage per day day and this would be monitored. When we arrived we found that there was a window that overlooked the garden and as we were in it there was a person watching. I'm sorry but to me this isn't private or relaxing.

We've just enjoyed a week's holiday at Lilly Cottage in the Forest of Dean.

We arrived at 9.30pm and it was pitch black. We struggled to find the cottage in the dark but after asking a neighbour they directed us. We were over the moon with the cosy cottage. The kitchen was well equipped and the cottage was spotlessly clean. The hot tub and log burner were great additions. The only slight downsides we found were the small sofa and the toilet being downstairs. The guest book helped give us advice on where to eat locally and days out. It was a great relaxing break away which is exactly what we wanted. We would highly recommend.

Very nice cottage on the edge of the Forest of Dean.

Rooms are very comfortable and clean, everything we needed (except for a pen to write in the guest book)! Hot tub excellent, very private and a good size. The downside was the nearest pub, The Miners which wasn’t doing food, but we drove a short way to The Fountain, Parkend, and the other Miners in Sling. Both are highly recommended. Great walks through the Forest. We will definitely return!

Lots to do without having to travel more than 30 minutes from the cottage. We will be returning to explore more of the area in the near future.

Ideally situated for some smashing walks in Forest of Dean - jacuzzi at the end of a long walk was a nice tonic and sitting in front of a log burning fire in the evening was grand - highly recommended place to stay.

It’s in a lovely area which is quiet,perfect and beautiful. The property so we’ll equipped, beautiful and clean. Lovely having a log fire and the hot tub tops it all off. Just the most amazing place and had a fantastic holiday! Plus Loads to do in the area.

) Good walks almost from doorstep, pubs aplenty with good food, cottage was clean and comfy, a cosy spot for two! Forest of Dean heritage centre and Puzzlewood are our favourite places to visit.

We loved our stay at this gorgeous cottage which was so cosy.

There was a confusion with the check in / out time so beware emails from Sykes cottages as the check out time is 10am not 11am. The hot tub is not able to be used on the first nights stay due to cleaning, so is only available for 1 day out of a 2 night stay despite arrival at 15:30 (this is due to changing the water for every guest to ensure cleanliness) however this should be advertised on booking. We were also fire novices so this could be just us, but I didn’t feel like there was enough kindling / fire lighters for two nights worth of fires; I’m sure we could have asked for more but didn’t want to bother the owners.

The hot tub was a great extra and lovely to relax in the evening. The cottage was clean and had all the amenities needed. Only drawback was the bathroom was downstairs

Had a lovely stay at Lily Cottage was a little surprised that the owners didn’t make contact upon our arrival which has always happened at other properties we have stayed in.

The property was very well appointed for visiting the surrounding area. Think the cottage would benefit from a full length mirror and a plug near a mirror for drying hair.

We were blessed with amazing weather which meant we could enjoy all the amazing surroundings.

The cottage made the perfect base and was very cosy.

Perfect location for a quiet break.

The cottage is ideally situated on the cusp of the forest, which makes it perfect for picking up the footpaths.

As described, it is very well kept, extremely cosy & tranquillity of the area makes this superb for a relaxing break. The hot tub is a lovely touch, which is great to relax in after many miles of walking/cycling, topped off with superb views of the forest. Again, location makes it very easy access to the various attractions around the forest of Dean. We loved this cottage & loved the forest!

With the Coronavirus epidemic. The cottage was clean and cared for in a very professional way. We were informed of the changes that were in place, and could supplement items that’s could not be provided. We had the most charming week. Plenty of walks, and the hot tub was a fantastic asset. Well maintained. We were delighted. Enjoyed the glow and warmth of log burner in evenings.

Lilly Cottage is a fantastic property with many of the comforts of home.

It is located in a great position for walking in the Forest of Dean, and there is a 45 minute circular walk just a 2 minute walk from the cottage! We loved the hot tub, while we enjoyed the view of the Forest. It was a nice touch to have fresh flowers and chocolates. Thanks very much to the owners for making the cottage so comfortable.

Lilly Cottage is a very comfortable well laid out cottage and the hot tub was lovely after a days walking.

This cottage is in a very quiet area but close to a good local pub, and all areas of the Forest of Dean are easily accessible from the Cottage. We very much enjoyed our stay and the little touches of fresh flowers and chocolates and a Welcome card were very much appreciated.

Great facilities, the only thing missing was a pair of scissors. The surrounding area with walks and pubs were fantastic. We would definitely like to return. The hot tub was amazing.

Lilly Cottage was a wonderful, peaceful little escape on the very edge of the Forest.

Matt and Chloe were welcoming, very friendly and willing to help with any questions etc. The cottage was immaculate as was the hot tub, which had wonderful views into the forest trees. The autumn colours were amazing. The cottage was small but perfectly adequate for the two of us and our little dog. It had everything we needed, was cosy with the added bonus of a wood burning stove, light and tastefully decorated. The bed was extremely comfortable and altogether, we had a very enjoyable and relaxing few days enjoying the Forest walks, nearby harbour walks, tearooms, local pubs

A lovely little cottage with everything you could possibly require for a short break.

The forest is literally right next door, with a pathway leading to numerous stunning walks being found right at the end of the drive. There’s plenty to do in the local area, and a well-stocked leaflet rack has been kept up to date so you can find activities, walks and more. The local pub was great for drinks and food, once we could tear ourselves away from the hot tub. I would definitely recommend Lilly Cottage.
