“The property is clean, small but very comfortable and charming.”

The bed is super comfy. The facilities are good and, although we didn't use the cooking facilities, there appears to be everything that's needed, plus 4 of all crockery etc. The shower is easily regulated with good spray power. However, the shower tray is showing signs of wear and tear and needs some minor remedial works to it's appearance. The bedding and sheets provided are of excellent quality. There is no enclosed outdoor space attached to the property, but Rich allows dogs to use the pub ...

There is no enclosed outdoor space attached to the property, but Rich allows dogs to use the pub garden first thing in the morning and last thing at night, and there's an exercise green a short walk from the property. Look out for the adorable Marley & Luna, the owner's black Labs that will come and calmly say hello! Rich & Hannah are very welcoming and approachable and there if you need them but don't impose on your stay. The welcome pack of tea/coffee/milk, biscuits and other treats is very much appreciated, esp the delicious bottle of red wine! The property is well placed and I recommend visiting Monmouth, Chepstow, the Forest of Dean (Puzzlewood and Mallards Pike Lake), Tintern Abbey/Devil's Pulpit/The Old Station Café and the Wye Valley. There are also nice walks along the river from Lydney Harbour. There are plenty of dog friendly pubs, a short drive from the property, serving excellent meals or, if you just want a drink, the Netherend Inn is very friendly and welcoming and just a walk across the drive! We had a really enjoyable week at the property and if I could make a suggestion to improve, it is to provide somewhere to dry the bath sheets, such as 2 large wall hooks, or a heated towel rail, or possibly a folding clothes airer, which would be useful if you need to rinse any clothes out as well. We both, and our 2 dogs, had a fab stay thank you , and hope to be back again!
