About the location

WOOLASTON

Chepstow 5 miles; Monmouth 14.5 miles; Ross-on-Wye 20 miles.

The pretty village of Woolaston nestles peacefully between the eastern edge of the Forest of Dean and the River Severn in Gloucestershire. Local services in the village consist of a shop, Post Office and three pubs serving food. The stunning countryside of the nearby Forest of Dean and Offa's Dyke provide excellent walking, cycling, fishing and nature watching opportunities. Visit the historic walled town of Chepstow with its impressive Norman Castle and the celebrated racecourse, whilst the pretty market town of Monmouth, with its stunning stone-gated bridge and the riverside market town of Ross-on-Wye with timbered Tudor houses, excellent shops and restaurants are within reach. Also within driving distance are the 12th century abbey of Tintern, and if you fancy some retail therapy, the cities of Newport and Cardiff are an hour’s drive away, or cross the Severn Bridge and visit Bristol and Bath. Woolaston is an ideal base for exploring Gloucestershire.
