“We found Honeystone cottage extremely beautiful and very much like a home away from home it was very very clean and tidy and an absolute credit to its owners.”

There was more than ample cleaning products available for you to use and basically the cottage and the immediate area were exactly as described in the sales marketing. It was very quite and peaceful and well appointed we would not hesitate to come back soon and happily give this cottage five stars and a ten out ten rating that it truly deserves.

“Well done to the owners.”

This cottage was perfect for a weeks holiday. Clean, warm, comfortable, well equipped, and quiet. The Welcome gifts were extremely generous and a full size real Christmas Tree. Thank you so much. This cottage is so perfectly positioned to explore the Cotswolds and to walk to all amenities in Morton. Only one thing my wife and I did not like was the old, very hard to lock key safe on the outside wall. We got soaking wet in the rain trying to lock the key in it when we left. New modern key safe required.

“Lovely comfortable cottage in a very good location - close to railway station bus stop & the high street.”

Only niggles were the lack of a second key and the late check in time of 6pm.

“The cottage is situated in a lovely spot.”

A couple of negatives - the disposal of rubbish / recycling was not very clear - the bins that we though belonged to the cottage were full the whole time we were there, A towel rail in the bedrooms to dry towels would have been ideal as there was four adults the stairs were very creaky and im not sure if one was slightly broken otherwise it was a very comfortable stay

“As soon as we opened the door of Honeystone cottage we knew we had made the right decision.”

Everything was clean and well presented, comfy beds and a everything we needed in the kitchen. The area was about 2 minutes walk away from the High Street and surprisingly there was no noise considering it was so close. The views from the bedroom windows were overlooking a church and gardens. Plenty of places to eat and a marvellous Tuesday market. Visited many places all within a 15-40 minutes drive.

“The cottage was very clean and quite comfortable,the owners have thought about virtually everything,we enjoyed out stay a lot,the high street only being a two minute stroll away.”

If I had to say anything really ,really picky about this cottage is that the leather sofa was the most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever sat on, and two minor things which I really missed was a small DAB radio and weirdly a pair of kitchen tongs.apart from that, brilliant,,we will return to this cottage.

“The cottage looked lovely and is in a great location, with just a short walk into the centre.”

The weather was good so we were also able to enjoy the garden. Just a little disappointed with a couple of things - the sofa and chair in the lounge are tired and worn and the cushions slipped on the sofa and larger towels in the bathroom would be welcome as they were really small for bath towels. On the plus side the shower was excellent. Easy to catch a train into Oxford for the day which was an added bonus.

“The cottage is ideally placed being close to the centre of Moreton in Marsh but is still remarkably quiet.”

The cottage itself was exactly as we hoped for. It met all our requirements. It was comfortable, warm (despite the cold weather), clean and the shower was excellent. We would certainly use the cottage again if we returned to Moreton. We also had some lovely food in Moreton as well so it was ideal to eat out rather than cook. Altogether, we had a lovely few days.

The property

Honeystone Cottage is a charming and welcoming bolthole in the heart of Moreton in Marsh.

It's view to surrounding gardens and across to the church in the distance enhance the tranquility and peace of this location and yet, walk for 60 seconds and you are on the High Street with its super range of shops, restaurants and the like.

For those who love 'a bit of everything' then this cottage has it all: a period building that has been restored and well maintained, it's warm and welcoming and spotless, you've got a garden and all the best of the market town around the corner.

And then - some of the Cotswolds best countryside within a few mins drive (or walk)!

The owners have created a truly cosy home, the wood burner literally 'belts' out the heat, the kitchen has everything you need, while upstairs are two surprisingly large bedrooms and bathroom with power shower.

We particularly recommend this cottage because of it's cute location 'around the back' of the town centre, its yet very quiet hideaway with its surprisingly green and pretty views, oh and private parking for one car, addtional free parking near by.

MORETON-IN-MARSH

Stow-on-the-Wold 4.5 miles; Bourton-on-the-Water 8 miles; Stratford-upon-Avon 16 miles; Cheltenham 23 miles; Oxford 31 miles.

The Saxon market town of Moreton-in-Marsh lies on the Fosse Way Roman Road in the northern Cotswolds and boasts many elegant 18th century buildings, which are home to traditional inns, serving real ales and home-cooked food, tea rooms, restaurants and individual shops to suit all tastes. It also boasts it's own train station and lies on the intersection of the Paddington rail line from London. The town hosts the Moreton-In-Marsh Show, one of the UK's largest one-day agricultural shows, as well as the Moreton Beer Festival, an annual French Market, and a large outdoor market every Tuesday. Many walks and cycle rides through the beautiful rolling countryside of the Cotswolds can be enjoyed from the centre of the town, with the Macmillan Way, Heart of England Way, Gloucestershire and Monarch's Way all running close by. Less than five miles away is Stow-on-the-Wold, the highest town in the Cotswolds.
