“Our stay was perfect, lots of nice walking / hiking routes right on the door step which were not busy routes.”

Very spacious for two adults and two labradors. The garden is beautiful, lots of spaces and levels and even though it’s shared & was sunny we didn’t bump into anyone in the garden. The carriage was very clean & tidy, loved the vibe of the apartment. Doug (the owner) we met him on the day we arrived in the garden & was lovely, made us and our dogs feel very welcomed. We can’t wait to revisit. 5 star stay :)

At the end of each day, look forward to returning to the warmth of the apartment, which has been designed with a family in mind, with its contemporary furnishings and all modern conveniences required for a comfortable stay.

Afterwards, sink into the sofas to admire the countryside views with a cup of tea in hand or flick on the gas fire to allow a gentle warmth to fill the room as you browse the TV channels to catch up on the latest box set.

The master suite boasts a plush king-size bed, draped in quality linens and enjoys far-reaching views over the countryside and gardens to wake up to each morning, whilst the light and airy second bedroom has houses twin beds, perfect for children or a set of friends.

Guests are free to stroll around the large, shared gardens featuring four ponds, and relax and enjoy an alfresco meal or drink in the property's private outdoor seating area, plan the next day’s activities, or simply sit and enjoy the view.

If you can tear yourself away from this stylish abode, head into Lydney to find a plethora of places to eat and drink, as well as a number of shops for a spot of retail therapy and picking up the essentials.

Don your walking shoes and explore the area further with walking opportunities situated within the beautiful Royal Forest of Dean, England's largest oak forest and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, or choose to stroll along the Gloucestershire Way and Offa's Dyke Path.

About the location

LYDNEY

Chepstow 9 miles, Monmouth 12 miles; Gloucester 20 miles; Chelttenham 27 miles; Bristol; Cardiff 41 miles

The small, thriving town of Lydney is situated between the eastern edge of the Forest of Dean and the River Severn in Gloucestershire. Lydney has a very good range of shops, a leisure centre and sports facilities, as well as pubs, cafes and restaurants serving a wide variety of meals. The magnificent Royal Forest of Dean, England's largest oak forest and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, boasts numerous trails that can be explored on foot, by bike or on horseback. Caving, abseiling and a high wire rope course are for the more adventurous, whilst fishing, golf, kayaking and canoeing are other popular activities in this unspoilt area. The ancient caves of Clearwell are nearby, as are the Gloucestershire Way and Offa's Dyke Path. Symonds Yat boasts natural scenery and straddles the beautiful River Wye with its magnificent limestone outcrop, popular with climbers, and well-known for its viewpoint. Visit the nearby historic walled town of Chepstow with its impressive Norman Castle and the celebrated racecourse, whilst the pretty market town of Monmouth, with its mixture of elegant Georgian mansions and Victorian courtyards, or the lovely town of Ross-on-Wye with its timbered Tudor houses and delightful riverside walks, both offer excellent shops, pubs and restaurants. The unspoilt Brecon Beacons National Park and Black Mountains, as well as lovely Cotswold towns and villages are just a little further afield as are the cities of Cheltenham, Gloucester, Cardiff, Newport, and just across the Severn Bridge, Bristol and Bath. Lydney is ideally placed for enjoying the delights of Gloucestershire at any time of the year.
